yeah, you can see where they end!
November 28, 2012 at 12:19 am
I agree. Plus you see that her leg is raised up higher therefore raising the jean skirt up higher. I’m sure we’ve been standing while in deep phone conversation in an awkward stance at one time or another. She looks fab.
November 18, 2012 at 12:04 pm
Great photo and beautiful legs, but I don’t like short so short, I think it’s a little vulgar.
November 18, 2012 at 9:46 pm
I completely agree.
November 19, 2012 at 12:00 am
A little vulgar, but a lot sexy. Actually I think its hot. It makes this shot so much more wow then if it was just a girl in a pair of shorts and nice shoes. This makes it like we are seeing something we shouldn’t be seeing. I love it. Who says that vulgar is always bad. Here its good.
November 19, 2012 at 1:02 am
I agree – this is a little too short but I like everything else about this outfit.
The coat is gorgeous and the shoes and bag and pretty wacky!
November 19, 2012 at 4:19 am
absolutly agree and i think its so disgusting to sit down somewhere with your bare skin…
November 19, 2012 at 8:07 am
chacun a son gout :)
November 25, 2012 at 12:26 pm
In that case, you would have to wear pants at least to the knees, as one doesn’t sit on the edge of the butt. Unless you feel that the skin on your buttock is somehow more osmotic then that of your thigh.
November 19, 2012 at 9:41 am
Also agree …. this is a fabulous outfit, and interestingly, I could totally see this on the streets of the Japanese girls in Tokyo – many were doing the “sexy little girl Lolita” thing – hot pants and cute ruffled socks, with heels.
I really dislike any butt cheek hanging out, even with the bod to pull it off. Otherwise, the outfit’s bold and sexy, worn by a woman with matching confidence.
November 20, 2012 at 1:04 pm
the idea of ‘sexy little girl’ anything is deeply vulgar to me… far more vulgar than a bit of bum cheek.
November 29, 2012 at 6:51 pm
What makes you think anything she is wearing is “sexy little girl”? I don’t consider socks the property of kids as opposed to adults. If that is even what you are looking at. If you look at an adult woman and think “sexy little girl” the problem is in the beholder. You need to ask yourself why your mind went there when no one else’s did. You must be really devoting a lot of thought to sexualized children to think such thoughts from a pair of white socks. I LOVE the socks, btw. They are lacy and feminine. No reason to read any more into it.
December 4, 2012 at 12:52 pm
I think she was referring to LizPR who said that she could see this outfit as part of the “sexy little girl lolita” thing they do a lot of in Japan. Not that she thinks that this picture itself is “sexy little girl.”
November 19, 2012 at 7:03 pm
absolutely, thumbs down!
November 19, 2012 at 7:51 pm
Bare midriff, butt cheeks and bare legs, with heels? too much!! Amazing legs though, no question. With brogues this would have been super super chic.
Compared to the photo above this one this is the opposite if chic, but I imagine this lady doesn’t do brogues! Lol!
Thanks be to god for the socks because I cannot take the balony sandwich effect of toes over the edge if peep toe sandals
November 18, 2012 at 12:13 pm
I don’t like the fact that her but is showing in this shot. Looks a bit trashy, but the combination of colours is fantastic!
November 18, 2012 at 12:19 pm
love the shoes with socks…I’m usually against that (with open shoes) but this works!
November 18, 2012 at 12:23 pm
She definitely knows that her legs are beautiful! Gorgeous girl+beautiful style+perfect location= brilliant combination!!!!
November 18, 2012 at 12:24 pm
I guess I’m an old fuddy-duddy: I disapprove of the ultra-mini skirt, even if she does look super hot; it makes my blood run cold.
une chatte grise
November 18, 2012 at 1:53 pm
I’m having a Geritol moment too. She is lovely, I appreciate bravery, and I’m not a prude, but this ensemble as a whole just seems to be trying way too hard. (Didn’t like the ensemble worn by the blond in black a few photos back, either, for the same basic principle.)
November 18, 2012 at 1:59 pm
Yes, it’s not chic and elegant :-(
November 18, 2012 at 12:36 pm
November 18, 2012 at 12:42 pm
November 18, 2012 at 12:44 pm
A bit too naked for me, but I like the coat and bag
November 18, 2012 at 12:47 pm
I usually hate socks with open shoes like that, but with the top of her shoe creating a border for it, she actually rocks the look! I love how it almost looks like part of the shoe!
You can definitely see some cheek though, that is Not covered by her skirt(/shorts?)… ah well, win some; lose some.
November 18, 2012 at 12:56 pm
Love everything but the fact that her butt is hanging out of her skirt. The socks and heels look really good though.
November 18, 2012 at 12:59 pm
Amazing outfit, her legs seem to be never ending! And she has got kind of a pretty butt :D
November 18, 2012 at 1:00 pm
November 18, 2012 at 1:01 pm
cool outfit and she has a nice body but the shorts are a bit risque for me.
November 18, 2012 at 1:02 pm
Wow! It’s great!
November 18, 2012 at 1:09 pm
It’s like a game of two halves. Great sexy pins and saucy heels. Then a ladylike coat and bag. Not really working for me…
November 18, 2012 at 1:10 pm
Great style! Love the photo.
November 18, 2012 at 1:11 pm
I like the general idea – too short though. It’s unfortunate when people feel sexy has to be so obvious.
November 18, 2012 at 1:18 pm
all things in moderation…
November 18, 2012 at 1:19 pm
if I had her body, I would go by the streets in pants :D
November 18, 2012 at 1:26 pm
i love how you find every kind of person and style to photograph. amazing.
November 18, 2012 at 1:29 pm
Nice shot, very casual, great legs! Why should cheeks get a bad rap? She is fashionably comfortable and a bit of fresh air is good for all corners of the body…just so happens it’s cheek day on that side of Paris.
November 18, 2012 at 1:38 pm
I don’t think this is a mini-skirt, they’re very short shorts.
It takes a gutsy, confident woman to wear this outfit and I admire her for that (even if I don’t like it !)
November 18, 2012 at 1:41 pm
Very nice shoot, but those shorts???? It’s showing too much! And the heels with the socks, didn’t work!
November 18, 2012 at 1:48 pm
Oh no she didn’t.
I didn’t think that socks would be so sexy! Great pose!
November 18, 2012 at 2:00 pm
Is that Tolula being cheeky? ;-)
November 18, 2012 at 2:07 pm
she would have caught my eye too. not a fan of showing ass cheek though.
November 18, 2012 at 2:14 pm
Great photo, until you see the ‘cheek’ of it! I wonder how much shorter skirts and shorts can possibly become? If you’ve got it, you don’t have to flaunt it !!
November 18, 2012 at 2:15 pm
I feel I may be missing something but I don’t like these high, high shoes and short, short skirts. I think they look vulgar, and cold, not ‘hot’ at all!
November 18, 2012 at 2:23 pm
I think I’m in love.
November 18, 2012 at 2:30 pm
Like the shoe and socks a lot , I may work that look too , beutiful legs ….. wish the but wasnt showing though.
November 18, 2012 at 2:41 pm
November 18, 2012 at 2:44 pm
She looks so effortlessly cool, love it!
November 18, 2012 at 2:48 pm
I seriously don’t get the socks with heels trend – looks ridiculous to me. She is definitely working her outfit, but I agree that her butt showing is a tad trashy.
November 18, 2012 at 2:49 pm
The skirt is just too short for me but like the rest of her outfit!
WOW beautiful pic, beautiful leg
November 18, 2012 at 2:57 pm
Amazing shoes. love it

I like this shot!!!
November 18, 2012 at 3:25 pm
November 18, 2012 at 3:28 pm
Smoking hot photo. Love it.
amazing photo :)
November 18, 2012 at 3:38 pm
Very sexy, but she better make sure she’s home after dark.
November 18, 2012 at 11:43 pm
what does that mean?
November 19, 2012 at 2:15 pm
November 28, 2012 at 12:35 pm
November 18, 2012 at 3:40 pm
Really perfect pic and she look great.
November 18, 2012 at 3:47 pm
Trashy!!! not classy.
November 25, 2012 at 12:20 pm
Not classy, but certainly NOT trashy. The human body is nothing to be hidden, not any part of it.
November 18, 2012 at 3:56 pm
SO wonderful legs !
November 18, 2012 at 4:32 pm
Now, that’s what I call a sexy shot!
November 18, 2012 at 4:49 pm
Loving the coat but as for the short, i agree with most of the people here!
November 18, 2012 at 5:02 pm
don´t like those tiny shorts but her coat and shoes are awesome! xo, Alma
November 18, 2012 at 5:06 pm
Love the shoes especially with the little socks, her legs are to die for………………..BUT, I’m afraid my first thought was street walker….My bad sorry :(
November 18, 2012 at 5:07 pm
November 18, 2012 at 5:08 pm
That’s a bit too micro ultra mini short/skirt? for me, especially with those high heels. She has great legs though, a pencil skirt would have been perfect! And I really like her jacket and bag-combo.
November 19, 2012 at 2:16 pm
True: A pencil skirt would have been great. More elegant and sexier, in my opinion.
November 18, 2012 at 5:18 pm
She reminds me of Rihanna!
November 18, 2012 at 5:34 pm
November 18, 2012 at 5:40 pm
Clearly the sweater is meant to cover for the shortness of the skirt and this photo a simply a matter of unfortunate timing. I will not lay that on her.w
I ike the black and muted baby blue. Combo enough to use it for a bathroom. With the studs and jewelry, the sweater/bag provide a nice subtle softening.
And yes, those legs. Goodness.
November 18, 2012 at 6:12 pm
Honestly, if she just pulled the skirt down to even barely cover her ass cheek…I’d like it.
November 18, 2012 at 6:14 pm
Shorts are a little bit too short, but the look is great. Love specially these shoes with socks
Check my new post
November 18, 2012 at 6:21 pm
Give me a bit of mystery any day over a look like this. A big thumbs down.
November 18, 2012 at 6:25 pm
Working girl or fashionista? Maybe not a question you want asked about yourself…
November 19, 2012 at 2:18 pm
Brilliant response. It is very applicable in this case. I had to pause and think about that question when I first saw this photo.
November 18, 2012 at 6:30 pm
love that socks with heels look!
November 18, 2012 at 6:34 pm
The elegance is a concept which too much linked with our cultural codes to say if this young lady is vulgar or not. But it’s interesting to see that this great picture tells different stories in our mind. It evokes sexuality for some of us and for other it’s a part of very large styles which exist in the world.
November 18, 2012 at 9:02 pm
November 18, 2012 at 9:20 pm
I hate it
November 18, 2012 at 9:21 pm
Sometimes you leave a comment with your photos. This is one where it would be great to know what it is that you like about this look. The socks with the shoes are okay, but as a whole, I don’t get it.
November 18, 2012 at 10:26 pm
Its Paris! love her outfit ans she pulls it off extremely well! and the butt if you have show it! :0
November 18, 2012 at 10:30 pm
Lovely lady/lovely legs but I prefer to see contrasts. I’d like to see a longer or more conservative skirt with this type of shoe/sock combination … or super short skirt with flats.
November 18, 2012 at 11:17 pm
what are those shoes!!! J’adore!
November 19, 2012 at 12:04 am
This is just incredible. I absolutely love that she dared to go that short. I wouldn’t do it. But good for her. I think the very fact that she dares to be a rude and unconventional is what makes it elegant. Or at least that is for me.
And anybody that has to ask WHAT IT IS ABOUT THIS LOOK that caught a straight mans eye is either blind, dumb, or delusional. Even though I am a straight girl I know precisely how she caught Scotts eye. Whats more I approve. Viva!
November 19, 2012 at 1:08 pm
I AGREE! She looks fabulous and can pull it off with confidence and class. she looks amazing!
The Urban Promeneur
November 19, 2012 at 1:53 am
I think the coat and the whole ensemble is taming the whole derrière scenario. It may be too short but I am sure her charisma can handly any too short.
November 19, 2012 at 2:02 am
It’s funny you post this – I mostly stay silent on the comments but after reading some of the comments I thought maybe this creates an opportunity for me to ask what you think of the following observation.
I’m from Canada, I lived in Paris for many years; I had a great combination of both french and international friends there. We always joke about how when in Paris we always refrain from wearing certain clothes that are considered too “sexy” (for lack of a better word) by parisian standards. Not only because of being in a capital city but Paris itself seems to have certain dress codes that for example NYC or Milan do not have. I remember this “dress code” was so obvious to us that after a while we would amuse ourselves by guessing if someone was a tourist or not just by what they were wearing. It could be mostly because you’d get all kinds of creeps bothering you on the street or even normal people giving you looks for wearing a skirt too(relatively) short or a top with too (relatively) much cleavage (maybe because they are not used to it?). Something which i find i’m much more comfortable doing in NYC than in Paris – I still wonder why?
Some of your Paris pics, from fashion week http://www.thesartorialist.com/photos/on-the-street-lace-legs-paris/ to this one often make me wonder if these girls actually managed to spend the whole day wearing what they are without getting looks or harassed on the street for the entire day.
After all parisian “sexy” has its own particularity in meaning, style and everything else! it’s definitely not centred around showing too much skin which in my opinion is sometimes too “prude” even if they pull off sexy so effortlessly and beautifully and i find it great that they do so without necessarily showing too much skin.
This is of course my observation as an everyday girl in the city and not someone who hops in and out for fashion events; You and Garance probably have a different view on this…
November 19, 2012 at 11:54 am
Totally agree — one of the first things I noticed when I moved ot Paris is the lack of cleavage on display. I’m still trying to crack the code on French women’s ability to be seductive while being completely covered up. My boyfriend would like me to wear high heels more often, and besides the fact that I never know how far we’ll be walking, I tell him I get enough attention from men as it is mostly because I don’t walk down the street scowling like most women here (probably to ward off the creeps).
November 19, 2012 at 11:35 pm
yeah! and suprisingly before i moved to paris i thought i’ll move there and wear heels everyday because as much as i love heels when i wore them as an everyday look in Canada, people would always ask me where i was going after and id feel a little self-concious consequently! Then i got to Paris all excited and after the first month i decided to lay lo on the heels there as well…(still the creeps do not win cause i tried to plan according to what part of the city and what hours i was going to be and wear outfits accordingly cause lets be honest the creeps do tend to hang in groups!)
November 19, 2012 at 4:35 am
I don’t really like kind of visible butt + crop top + high high heels (and not even at a beach town but a cool-ish city).
Oh well still interesting textures and patterns ! [:
November 19, 2012 at 4:40 am
I love the fact that you publish different, singular outfits. Really, your blog keep getting better (and that is a big thing as it was already amazing).
Everyone keep asking what did you like in this look (as it’s not “chic” for them), but for me this picture sounds like a “why not ?” – or an invitation to think about our definition of style, elegance and sexyness.
Plus she really have dreamy legs.
November 19, 2012 at 5:00 am
Wow, almost naked.. :P Like somebody above already said: “A little vulgar, but a lot sexy” :))
November 19, 2012 at 5:29 am
I find those shorts way too short, it looks vulgar and cheap.
THE STEL STYLE
November 19, 2012 at 5:52 am
I love the socks with shoes!!!
November 19, 2012 at 7:11 am
Like this style!
November 19, 2012 at 8:09 am
The grapes make me a bit dizzy, but the gal with the great legs looks like she’s working, if you get my drift.
November 19, 2012 at 9:59 am
That’s just too much if you ask me.
I understand that this pic is supposed to spur up a debate and this is the side I am on: Con
Looks like there is too much effort towards the opposite direction.
A big kiss from Greece!
November 19, 2012 at 10:42 am
I dunno, I’ve been living in Paris for the past 14 years, and I can’t say Paris girls are any more daring than anywhere else in the world. Before that, I lived in NY and I find New Yorkers to be a lot more daring.
In any case, can’t say I’m a fan of this girl’s style.
I tend to think it’s nicer to show less and let the eye of the beholder’s imagination do the rest than leave little to the imagination as is the case here.
November 19, 2012 at 11:37 am
Nostalgic. Hot. Like someone from an old Donna Summer video.
Style begins at forty
November 19, 2012 at 1:12 pm
November 19, 2012 at 2:48 pm
A quick search shows that two commenters already used the word “cheeky”. It’s an adjective that dates from 1859, according to Webster’s.
Not sure how anyone was showing cheek in 1859.
November 19, 2012 at 4:21 pm
love it ..!!
November 19, 2012 at 5:43 pm
A lot people have no taste in here, outfit is hot yea socks was little too much but the outfit is sexy, and she know she can wear that and it will look sexy
November 20, 2012 at 9:38 am
We are all entitled to our opinion. It is a little unnecessary to say that we “have no taste” if we disagree with your view. In fact, we could easily state that you are the one lacking in taste. It is all relative.
November 19, 2012 at 6:40 pm
All I can say is “Praise Zeus that shot did not give us a frontal view…..”!
November 19, 2012 at 11:01 pm
иметь красивые ноги, это конечно хорошо, но с такой короткой юбкой – это просто вульгарщина!
БОСОНОЖКИ произошли от слов БОСАЯ НОЖКА и с носками их НЕ носят!
November 20, 2012 at 1:58 am
Ah ben non , là, c too much!
Alors the skirt is short, for sure extremely short e non va…..
But the worst, my opinion is the shoes tiny tiny and the foot not fitting in, a new version of cindirella ma no non e possibile!!!
C tellement dommage, such a shame, with those perfect legs! Comment dire, c pas chic quoi!
Mais comme Scott vous avez poste ces photos de ce monsieur si chic a Milan, I give you my absolution!
November 20, 2012 at 3:51 am
This outfit clearly requires a LOT of confidence – with her body and with her attitude to deal with the inevitable attention it will get her.
If she can handle it, good for her. It may not be to my taste, but I for one respect a confident women.
November 20, 2012 at 8:29 am
chris brown’s ex does it in a stage… others in St Matin
by the way she owns a beautiful pair of legs!!!
November 20, 2012 at 10:42 pm
Like others here, my first thought was also that she was “working”. If she is, what does the style then signify?
November 21, 2012 at 1:51 pm
C’était sur autre rue, un peu plus loin, mais dans le même quartier, n’est-ce pas?
November 21, 2012 at 11:27 pm
Hmmmm. That’s cheeky!
November 22, 2012 at 2:15 am
Fur Coat and no knickers
November 22, 2012 at 11:24 am
I love shoes with socks, but her fingers are completely out of the shoe
November 24, 2012 at 11:59 pm
ultra-short shorts are a NO-NO.
November 29, 2012 at 2:26 am
Who knew a butt cheek could be this controversial? Lost in the cultural translation of fashion *shrugs*
She looks absolutely stunning, rocking every piece with unrivaled fierceness. A++++++
December 1, 2012 at 9:17 pm
On celebs or models this is brilliant but on this woman it’s vulgar and I think I know why. You know why too and it’s a shame that certain women can’t celebrate their sexiness the way others can tsk tsk. shame on those who cry vulgar. This is what fashion is all about! LOVE
December 5, 2012 at 4:03 am
one of your best shots -and I love the freedom and the boldness of this lady-
December 9, 2012 at 2:58 pm
I adore every single detail. The ugly cardigan with super sexy microshorts, socks with beautiful shoes and especially her red nails paired with purple phone. May be a little too short, but that’s why she has that cardigan on! Like someone said, feels like we’re seeing something we shouldn’t see. Rocking it
