This look could definitely have benefited from shoes other than TOMS.
November 15, 2012 at 4:15 pm
Agreed. Imagine if she were wearing these blue Fluevog Leaders: http://www.fluevog.com/code/?w%5B0%5D=gender%3Awomen&w%5B1%5D=attribute%3AShoe&pp=1&view=detail&p=21&colourID=3302
And YES – I have them! (And in red, too….)
But you gotta admit, the look on this woman’s face is priceless!

i love the hair and the tiny fanny pack :)

I actually think the shoes go perfectly with her outfit, it doesn’t matter that they’re Toms. The scruffy-ness of her shoes ties in with the laid back but playful feel of her outfit. She’s not trying too hard to be anything other than what she enjoys and I think any other shoe would have suggested that she was, she’s cool and not afraid to smile which I like. Her hair and face and piercings AND legs are all amazing

The Toms look cute here. Toms are great shoes and make good sense for someone that obviously likes comfort and style.
She looks perfect here. Love the great cut of the shorts and the slick fanny pack. Actually I like everything. Toms have become a classic, I think. They certainly deserve to be one.

the Tribal soul meets the New Yorker it seems…….the cheek piercing makes her smile even cuter…..
November 16, 2012 at 1:22 am
Yes – her cheek piercings are so cool!
I love her blue hair as well – everything is so kooky and cool about this shot.

This photo is so fantastically brilliant. Her coordination is uniquely beautiful.

love the colors
November 15, 2012 at 2:20 pm
Who knew, that combining blue bangs and a terrific turban would work?
All of the complimentary colors she picks up from the environment around her!
I’ve been thinking lately of a small leather bag to loop around the waist…I find my over-sized bag a heavy burden on my shoulders, and bulky with my Winter coat.
Furthermore, I just love the way those colors go together on her head (bronze and blue)

November 15, 2012 at 2:54 pm
Great colours and great style. I love the innocence she portrays as if to say ‘why are you taking my picture?’
November 15, 2012 at 2:56 pm
There is something oriental in her style that makes all more intertesting.

Her coppery turban and blue hair almost perfectly mirror her coppery legs and blue shorts. creating a wonderful balance.
I’m guessing those are her lucky shoes, or she’d have replaced them several wearings ago. Yikes.
November 15, 2012 at 3:45 pm
I love her face !
November 15, 2012 at 3:51 pm
interesting style, this is what fashion is all about. You make your own rules.

Interesting outfit! :)
Awesome shot! Brilliant combination of location, interesting personality and unique outfit!

Even blue hair and blue lips can’t detract from those unbelievable legs!!! In fact, I think they make them look even more fabulous!

I love “busted” looking shoes even when I am in skinny jeans and a blouse. Something about Toms and old worn flats I love. I love the look of her shoes. Sometimes the neat, heeled shoe ruins an outfit.
November 16, 2012 at 7:51 am
How on earth could neat shoes ruin an outfit? I think she looks great…but those shoes have seen better days. Dirty old Toms aren’t the same as a “busted” looking pair of leather shoes…those might work. These don’t…but they are the only thing wrong with her look!
Love the beat in Toms.
November 17, 2012 at 8:26 am
A worn pair of Toms are just like a beat up pair of tennies. 100 percent brilliant.
November 18, 2012 at 7:03 pm
Uh huh! :)

My favorite thing — “busted’ looking pair of leather shoes…”

I don’t find Toms/skimmer flats aesthetically appealling, no matter what condition they’re in, but I completely understand your point. Shoes always look better when they’re a little (or a lot) beaten up. And a neat, fussily polished, “dressy” shoe really can suck the cool out of many an outfit. And this outfit has a whole lot of cool!
November 18, 2012 at 7:04 pm
“Shoes always look better when they’re a little (or a lot) beaten up.” — I agree.
November 15, 2012 at 9:31 pm
Interesting style !

not many people can pull off the blue hair look!

She’s wonderful and creative! Love her thoughtful color sense!

She has so much personality and is so ALIVE. I can see why young people the world over look to America.
November 16, 2012 at 3:58 am
What a sprite!
That hip bag is fab. Who makes it?
November 16, 2012 at 4:20 am
I think the beaten up TOMs make the outfit. Her worn to hell shoes and the smile on her face gives the outfit an incredible energy. With different shoes she would look overdone.

does she have pierced cheeks?….Diane Arbus
November 16, 2012 at 8:45 am
WOUAH! it’s crazy!
November 16, 2012 at 12:18 pm
Cool hair. :)
November 16, 2012 at 8:56 pm
wow! i love when you show stuff that is so out there. this is her own thing, dreamed up by her. Mmm , you’ll probably never type “If you’re thinking about.. blue hair, bindis, bum bags and demin shoes” ! she’s brilliant… great imagination.. and good eye for seeing it’s ‘fashion’ worth!
November 16, 2012 at 8:59 pm
just because and item of clothing is old or dirty doesn’t mean it’s not cool!
November 17, 2012 at 8:30 am
I completely agree with the above. Beat up well loved things are wonderful. Tidy has never been my favorite thing. And Toms are a classic.
Its great how she is wearing such wonderful basics. A pair of perfect high rise shorts, a comfy grey shirt, and a pair of Toms, and makes them into a cool outfit with the awesome fanny pack, the killer turban, the blue hair and her adorable smirky smile.
November 18, 2012 at 5:34 am
Love it ! The look is sooo about her own style and so fresh! I would never in my dreams dare to have blue bangs but she rocks it beautifully! And love the cute shorts and the fanny pack!
November 19, 2012 at 9:52 am
every time you post real street fashion i think the same thing–love the textures/colors/proportions but that person’s feet are probably really stinky.”
November 19, 2012 at 11:23 am
Cute. And I love the worn out Toms she’s wearing.
November 24, 2012 at 7:18 am
So many styles, colours and texture but still a very nice outfit.
I admire people who dare to try out stuff and make combinations most people would never think about combining.
And if only I had a pair of legs like that!!
