That Céline bag is amazing. It is weird that it is still friday in California but your post says Saturday so hello to the time zone you are in!
Love it all!!
April 10, 2010 at 1:18 am
sadly I don't like this much. I love vintage-looking things, but some of them, like this bag, just don't fancy me.
April 10, 2010 at 1:19 am
Beautiful, like a landscape. Fashion should be natural. I love how you captured this. I adore your work.
April 10, 2010 at 1:27 am
I love the rich textures and colors on this picture. Very classic and elegant.

April 10, 2010 at 1:50 am
This is good. I want to copy cat.
April 10, 2010 at 1:51 am
All the patterns work so well because they are in the same tone and have similar size scale. Interesting and creative without being over the top. well done!
April 10, 2010 at 2:19 am
For once, brown does not look dull. It's such a hard colour to pull off.
April 10, 2010 at 2:32 am
Well done.Great shot!
April 10, 2010 at 2:49 am
love the different textures

April 10, 2010 at 3:03 am
I love it , and I love the way the photo is cropped !
April 10, 2010 at 3:04 am
I've noticed a lot of abstraction in the most recent posts. Detail shots like this beautiful photo, as well as head-and-shoulders portraits, and even the few black and white photos; all are deviations from the signature Sartorialist photo. Even the recent vintage photo contest is a deviation from the usual format.
Personally, I appreciate experimentation, and I feel your strongest voice has always been visual- Your photos don't need supplementary text or 'prose' about your opinion on the look, because you illustrate it in the photos themselves. Let your photography speak for itself.
April 10, 2010 at 3:18 am
I had all those items in the eighties, but wore never all of them together. Only two or three. What a difference that makes!
April 10, 2010 at 3:32 am
l-o-v-e the bag, the slacks, the scarf, the blazer.. perfection*
Fashion, Art and other fancies
April 10, 2010 at 3:36 am
Earth tones, a splash of colour with the neckline, and trousers I adore. I might also add that her bag is enviable too. Love the pattern contrast of jacet and trousers. xoxo

Python with tweed! Who would have thought…
April 10, 2010 at 4:01 am
I say this is a woman, my boyfriend says it is a man. Who is right?
April 10, 2010 at 4:11 am
I've got exact purse from years ago. The smaller bag looks modern, again, definitely easier on the shoulder, back to shopping in ones own closet!
April 10, 2010 at 4:24 am
different shades of brown!
April 10, 2010 at 4:31 am
Love the classic shape- Natural Python is always a fab look, as seen
April 10, 2010 at 4:39 am
All these browns… it's amazing how a single — simple — color can have such an impact. More is more in this case!

Amazing. The mix of patterns and textures is simple yet striking.
April 10, 2010 at 5:05 am
Love the androgyny here, I'd be just as happy wearing it as meeting a nice young lady wearing it, though in the latter I would probably ask to borrow her scarf.
April 10, 2010 at 5:06 am
i want that bag so bad….who would've thought celine bags would become so desirable..

this lovely bag, i just have fallen in love ;_)
I think the best thing about this combination is the different sizes and shapes of the prints, fused in harmony by the similar shade of colour.

April 10, 2010 at 7:15 am
at a quick glance there seem to be too much going on, but somehow it works – and beautifully at that. The bag is fantastic! I love seeing a structured bag after all the soft sack-like huge things that have been so popular for so long.
April 10, 2010 at 7:34 am
Love how she mixes different patterns and shades of brown. Beautiful!
April 10, 2010 at 7:36 am
Hot bag. Love all the brown.

I love the bag and jacket. I absolutely hate the pants.
April 10, 2010 at 8:15 am
April 10, 2010 at 8:23 am
I probably would have went with one less pattern, but I still love this.
April 10, 2010 at 8:24 am
What we needs is a photo of her eating a mousse au chocolat or drinking a cafe au lait out of a brown cup.
April 10, 2010 at 8:34 am
this is fantastic!
April 10, 2010 at 8:39 am

LOVE THE MIXING OF PATTERNZ AND TEXTUREZ! WISH WE COULD SEE THE WHOLE OUTFIT. BUT THAT WOULD PROBABLY TAKE AWAY FROM SEEING THE PATTERN/COLOR CLASH UP CLOSE. THE BAG IZ THE BEST.

Even though I am just too excited about spring and summer textures and colors, I can still love this beautiful fall and winter mix.
April 10, 2010 at 11:21 am
I love the bag !!
April 10, 2010 at 11:22 am
Is that a celine bag ? i love it
I am not sure if I would appreciate the brown combination as much as I do when I see this picture if the shot was taken inside.
What strikes me is the blue sky that makes this wonderful contrast. The peace of the backgroud in contrast with the "grittiness" of the patterns and the wildness of the purse's leather.
Congrats Mr. Schuman
April 10, 2010 at 11:29 am
I'm suddenly in love with brown!
Hmmm…although the three brown tone is strikingly beautiful, I kept looking at just the bag.. great composition. if you are advertising the bag, it is working well..hehehe. Txs for sharing
April 10, 2010 at 11:34 am
What a lovely transitional look! Exquisite mix of pattern and color. And the bag is chic and absolutely wonderful.
April 10, 2010 at 12:02 pm
The prints and patterns are mixed so effortlessly and the photo captures that. x

OMG!!! Scott, Scott, Scott!!!
I have a briefcase of the same color and print as this Celine bag, and I've had it for years, not knowing where I can possibly find a suitable replacement, and then you post this, and voila! my weekend is surely made!
Love, love, love this bag, and will be hopeful to find something akin to my own through Celine.
Many, many thanks!

Nice. Surely her head was just as nice too.
April 10, 2010 at 8:06 pm
as a dedicated lover of brown, I think this is perfection
April 10, 2010 at 8:29 pm
the bag is beautiful, of course, but it just resembles the real anatomy of the snake it was made from and it makes me a little squeamish – and this is coming from someone who has three python bags (of course, though, not celine).
anyway, i'm rambling…
**steps down from soapbox

Excellent crop of the pic, Scott.

April 11, 2010 at 7:08 pm
Without the bag it may look a little bit to oldschool british landlady kind of way – but the beautiful bag makes it different and interesting.
April 12, 2010 at 4:21 am
This is so stylish. The bag is definitely the star of the outfit.
April 12, 2010 at 5:58 am
