Oh my gosh I almost never comment but I can’t express how much I adore this photo, it manages to capture so much emotion and I feel like I know the guy only by his expression and gesture. I think he’s very attractive but in an unconventional way, especially with his piercing gaze..So poetic
That is exactly what I was thinking! I know I’ve read way too many biographies on dead Frenchmen, but that gaze! Is he a Revolutionary or an Aristocrat? I don’t think it makes any difference. I wouldn’t want to make him mad!
The man on the right conjures a memory of being in Paris in the 6th grade. I looked around at all of the beautiful people, and secretly wished that one of the adorable French boys would ask me to lunch. They all had this haircut, and seemed to know so much more than the American boys. More than a decade later and I still wonder…
Makes me think of the Paris of Balzac, Stendhal. Evoking a period feel without seeming to copy a ‘look’, it’s in the colour of the coat, the fur, the unusual collar. It’s such a pleasure seeing beautifully dressed men.
Tough dressed – man on the left – and a bag of Hermes. No Frenchman, more a man from the east. Clothing is OK. I know a good hairdresser for this young man.
Can’t come up with anything to describe this man, attitude, photo, nor gesture. So really only can look at the comments and nods, that’s what i mean :)
