The color scheme is what caught my attention as well. The powder blue with the oxblood-esque socks work great together. My feeling about this woman is that she was conflicted about being photographed…as though she was flattered but also perturbed to have her daily routine disrupted.
She is soooo cool. It’s funny to imagine the reactions to a look like this in places like Miami or LA.
Luckily style has not (completely) globalized yet…
This kind of attention to the frame and way in which you are using texture to flatten the picture plane and then color to break it up is why I like to visit this site. –An excellent, deceptively complex photograph disguised as a simple observation on style. So good.
Wonderful, sunny photo. She looks lovely. I really love the blouse. In fact, the entire outfit is a delight. However, I can never get in to socks and shoes on a grown woman. Although, she has managed to make it look good.
I agree, Tonia. The socks+shoes with a dress thing usually strikes me as a bit creepy and Lolita-ish (or just plain unflattering) but for this woman, and this outfit, it kinda works. Photo is stunning, as usual.
I know this brand, I bought something in their shop on line and I love them!
The brand is called Alcoolique and the website is http://www.alcoolique.it
The colour palette is planned to a tee.
Liking the ensemble, though would not look good on me. The bag looks “couchy” and comfy and as it is a Friday evening, I would love to use it as a pillow..or just basically hold my head close to it.
Interesting angle and light.
Surrounded by shadows with no source, she stands out without one, like a cut out.
About the outfit, nice colour /texture scheme, but the proportions are off and the socks are the main balance breakers.
ABG touched on iy with that “Ave Maria” comment, but let me just say that it is refreshing to see a woman wearing a blouse with a religious theme–The Blessed Virgin Mary. I haven’t seen that in the States and I don’t expect to, any time soon. Shame that.
I am sure this girl in not milanese, nor italian. I live in Milan and I can guarantee it’s very, extremely rare to observe such perfect and tasteful style!
