he’s back! and as lovely as ever!
October 31, 2006 at 9:23 am
This is fun, the before and after look, wonder what the paintings look like or maybe he’s only dressing the part? Interesting…
December 3, 2013 at 2:23 am
Interesting, I hadn’t considered them as ‘before and after’ looks. i think, like others here, ‘What an attractive man! Mmm-hmmm…’
October 31, 2006 at 9:30 am
Relaxed, effortlessly stylish and utterly dishy. Where do I need to be to meet this man? Thanks, Sart!
October 31, 2006 at 9:35 am
the painter got a tan ;p
October 31, 2006 at 9:37 am
Attainable style. Quite nice.
October 31, 2006 at 9:46 am
Very nice. Love the fit of his suit and the all-black with just a small white detail. Again his hair/styling looks good too.
October 31, 2006 at 10:01 am
Compared to the guy in all black in ‘Greenwich Village’ I thing this guy has a lot more going. His head and facial hair is much friendlier.
We have a lot of photos with guys in those white athletic shoes, but I like the brown boots, even though they are scuffy looking, much better.
October 31, 2006 at 10:07 am
what versatile shoes! love both looks.
October 31, 2006 at 10:24 am
Nice layering, then and now, and the shoes do merit a close-up. It’s fun when wear anduse–in this case, splattered shoes–personalize dress attractively.
très mignon ce peintre…

I love that even though the new outfit is so different from the first one and so cleaned up, he is still himself and doesn’t look like he’s wearing costume.
October 31, 2006 at 11:12 am
I liked the whole outfit on the part 2 of the painter.Really nice with the white contrast.Regards from a fashionista in Sweden./i

The blazer on the top picture is exceptional. The fit is brilliant. Is that a leather jacket on the spring shot? If so, well done on that score too, beacuse the fit is likewise perfect-not too baggy, just snuggly. He looks cleaner, more crisp on the top photo, even though the shoes are full of paint dirt.
October 31, 2006 at 11:46 am
wow this is a great look.not childishly trendy or over the top stuffy.who is this man??
October 31, 2006 at 11:51 am
how many guys with mustache are sexy?maybe two…This guy, and somebody else somewhere. This is in deed my idea of a sexy man: relaxed yet totally refined in a personal way.
October 31, 2006 at 11:58 am
he was cool then and he’s still cool now.
October 31, 2006 at 12:48 pm
And if anyone has a word to say about this chap, I will personally kick his/her ass.
This guy is my new best friend. We’re going into bar fights together. And we’ll be wearing scarves. Manly scarves.

I like part II better. He seems happier, his hair style is more coiffed, nice tan. Perhaps he just returned from vacation or sold a few paintings (painted a few apartments??)No matter, just a good look.
positively the same dame
October 31, 2006 at 2:47 pm

October 31, 2006 at 3:47 pm
i don’t like the wrinkled pants.
October 31, 2006 at 4:58 pm

October 31, 2006 at 5:18 pm
i have never ever been attracted to a fellow with a mustache. he is phenomenal!
October 31, 2006 at 6:30 pm
Too, too cute! Agree with Littelst Jones – can’t normally do moustaches, but this guy is too cute – in a gallic way, somehow – to pass up!

November 1, 2006 at 12:20 pm
Agree with María …relaxed , refined and seeexy !!!!
Thank you ,Sart !
November 1, 2006 at 1:34 pm
he used to be a bartender at schiller’s and employees only (where the city’s other hot mustachioed men reside). and, yes, he’s scrumptious in person.
November 1, 2006 at 2:40 pm
He rolls up his trousers above the ankle..to accentuate his boots..(or is it to keep paint from splattering on them?) It’s a great look.
November 1, 2006 at 4:25 pm
Cute AND stylish, AND artistic? Nice.
November 2, 2006 at 2:52 pm
This guy is a total fox. He’s dripping with personal style.
November 2, 2006 at 4:56 pm
In response to lit’s question:
I believe the painter is wearing the Barbour Bedale jacket in part I. This is a shorter model wax jacket, especially suited for equestrian use.
November 5, 2006 at 1:05 pm
does anyone know where those boots in the earlier, spring photo are from?
November 30, 2006 at 4:23 pm
Nice photos… The painter… hehe…
December 31, 2006 at 1:25 am
any idea what type of boots those are, i need them.
September 24, 2007 at 4:47 am

April 16, 2009 at 12:52 am
C’est INCROYABLE !!!!! J’ADORE!!!!
October 19, 2009 at 8:53 am
If I was a guy, I would want to look like this! Simple, elegant, mysterious and nonchalant. The trousers in the suit has a perfect fit!
A Wild Score

SPRING:The barbour jacket fits perfectly. As you can see from his right arm he has been forced to sacrifice some sleeve length for correct fit on the body but has allowed for this by wearing a suitably cuffed sweater underneath. This same effect would not have resulted from a light sweater vest being worn under the jacket as his wrists would have seemed "bare".I can't locate it at the moment but I think I've seen a similar jacket on the Jeweller in a later post

This is the fit/cut of clothes that as a man I like to wear. Classic and hard to find, usually.
February 10, 2011 at 10:03 pm
I really dig his boots, a well worn pair of Alden 405s. Perfectly distressed likely by himself, the way distressed items should be!
