The first shoe is my favourite!
If only every time you got lost you could find a great store like this!
October 18, 2012 at 2:15 pm
I love a dedicated high-end shoe store that actually spends time on its collection.

October 18, 2012 at 2:25 pm
LOVE THE LAST ONE!
October 18, 2012 at 2:26 pm
That’s a suave selection of footwear. What’s the price range one can expect?
One can never go wrong with a classic… lovely!
October 18, 2012 at 2:29 pm
I love how men’s shoes always seems to recognize and acknowledge craftsmanship and materials. I think women’s shoes tend to underestimate these aspects. I love the smell of leather when you buy new shoes, I think these kind of details are important.
October 18, 2012 at 3:44 pm
Very true. Most women’s shoe designers tend to overlook those fine quality-focused details (e.g., great leather) and concentrate primarily on the aesthetics (and certainly not on comfort).
Works of art, there in 2 weeks, keep sending recommended shops to shop!
October 18, 2012 at 2:31 pm
What a fabulous shoe! There is something so oddly sexy about a classic, mens shoe.
October 18, 2012 at 2:34 pm
OMG… Great men’s shoes!

No doubt, the shoes you’ve pictured are size 11 works of art. But the photo that really gets me is that of the woman in the doorway. Such pure happiness…this is a woman who’s had a beautiful life, and fantastic day.
October 18, 2012 at 2:44 pm
So beautiful, that’s real luxury!
October 18, 2012 at 2:53 pm
The shop name reminds me of a cake shop, idk why.

There was a saying when I was growing up : your outfit can be average but your shoes have to be of the best quality.

October 18, 2012 at 4:24 pm
Nice shoes, lovely store!!
October 18, 2012 at 4:44 pm
I love bespoke shoes, I suppose the first is hand-made by the shoemaker Saskia Wittmer. Its shoes are piece of art!
October 18, 2012 at 5:17 pm
Being a self-confessed shoe obsessor; This is right up my street! In Australia there is a serious shortage of amazing mens footwear. I design mens shoes and have used various couture finishes like double faced sequins, embroidered sack-cloth and sheared lama wool because I felt that there were no ïnteresting shoes out there for men but these pictures have shown me that you don’t have to be outrageous to stand out. These shoes are so classic but amazingly beautiful. Thanks for posting these pictures Scott!

Recently saw a video about how
Louis Vuitton make his shoes!

Beautiful shoes. Now I have more excuses to take my wife to Italy.
October 18, 2012 at 10:16 pm
These shoes are amazing!!
October 18, 2012 at 10:17 pm
I got bad a case of shoe envy. My first after-school job (7th grade) was in a shoe store. Therefore, I can safely say: there’s no business like shoe business.
October 18, 2012 at 10:40 pm
These shoes, And the way in which you have photographed them, look a work of art. One has the urge to reach out to touch them and own them. In my dream world, I (as a woman) I could walk into This very store And say “I’ll take a pair of those in a womans 38 please”.
October 19, 2012 at 12:01 am
This is where tablets come into their own. You can zoom in and look so closely you start to believe you can smell the leather! Beautiful.
October 19, 2012 at 1:25 am
Nice shoes. I especially love her boots. They are looking good!
October 19, 2012 at 1:32 am
Artisanal, Milan seems like a great shop. The men’s shoes are extraordinary.

October 19, 2012 at 8:07 am
I know this amazing niche man boutique in the old-town centre of Milan (“5 vie”)…every “man” should go!
October 19, 2012 at 10:15 am
These shoes are works of art and are so beautiful that it makes one feel guilty for exposing them to the elements by wearing them anywhere but inside!
October 19, 2012 at 10:33 am
next time you come to milan and visit them, come also to the very close V. dei Piatti for our atelier of handmade jewels!
October 19, 2012 at 12:02 pm
i know the shop…very very chic. beautiful men shoes and are beautiful also accessiories such as ties and cufflinks. I highly recommend to visit.
October 20, 2012 at 3:52 am
Great! shoes seem perfect and very well hand-made! I’m obsessed by bespoke shoes. Do you know if the store provides services like shoe shining, polishing or “glaçage”? I can find this service just in Savile Row, London…thanks
October 24, 2012 at 12:17 pm
Sure! My shoes are still shining!
October 19, 2012 at 12:39 pm
I know the shop. It’s exquisite! A real gem. There are shoes, entirely custom made by a japanese guy , of incredible quality and outstanding design (not shown in the pictures, unfortunately, do not know why..) Then the neapolitan ties are collector’s items. The owner is elegant, charming, sexy.. She makes the buy a pleasure.
Definitely for connoisseurs.
October 20, 2012 at 8:02 am
You are probably mentioning the Japanese shoemaker Hidetaka, I look at its creations in the store and I definitely agree with you, its shoes are jewels!
October 19, 2012 at 12:56 pm
Great pics and very very elegant shoes. I think it will be the first stop next time I’ll be in Milan for shopping.
October 19, 2012 at 1:16 pm
Wonderful shoes. looking very nice. Favorite color.
October 19, 2012 at 2:26 pm
Schott! I would like to thank you personally for this post. As a sophisticated man, my opinion is that for mature costumers like me and various Italians it’s not more exciting to buy in conventional shopping streets. When I travel too I love to lose my way in cool districts where you can feel the traditions, the authenticity, the beauty…this is what you luckily found in the back streets of Milan…All is “uncontaminated” the lovely woman, the store, the shoes! thanks again
October 19, 2012 at 6:58 pm
Love those gray booties.
October 19, 2012 at 8:51 pm
Dear Scott, What a lucky find! The most beautiful shoes, the craftsmenship and I can’t imagine how unbelieveably comfortable those shoes would be after a little breaking in. Truly devine and treasured proof of high end artisan product alive and well and available to buy in a real shop in fabulous Milano. I bet the service is fantastico too. Thank you for sharing, warms my heart. Bernadette

The girl in the picture looks like she tirelessly based her outfit on the girl that gets made-over in the ZZ Top “She’s Got Legs” video!! Love it!

è un classico esempio della grande artigianalità italiana, il segreto del nostro piccolo-grande successo nel mondo, nonostante…altre cose che qui non citiamo!!!!
belle scarpe sono sinonimo di eleganza, non c’è nulla da fare
October 22, 2012 at 12:57 pm

Quintessential Milan….well crafted shoes, with an elegant designer in Lidia who promotes herself with elan and Italianesque flair. Would love to represent her in San Francisco….where style and fashion is de rigueur….
