The pants and boots totally crank the funk factor on what might otherwise be a fairly standard look.
I love those kinds of curveballs; they’re what makes style ‘style.’

It’s all about capturing the details. Classic and gorgeous.

We’ve seen a number of jackets with layering underneath, and I think this one fits the best.
The overstuffed look with straining buttons is more common with this kind of combination. I prefer things to fit with slight ease.
This woman has got that. It’s hard to decide if the jacket is a bit big, maybe cut to be worn as outerwear or if she’s got her absolute lightest sweater underneath.
I think the absence of a bulky scarf tucked into all this is a good thing.
Does she have a thin scarf and leather gloves in that briefcase in case things turn bad during the day?

If this is a woman, o.k. I can deal with it. If this is a man…

I know this conversation is long gone and done, but it takes me a while to understand what I’m seeing in the Sart’s photos….At first I thought the jacket exposed the top button and then there was a button fly for a second button, hence The Sartorialist’s detail shot. Is that what’s happening with the jacket? Or is it a one-button?
Because there seems to be some strain around 3 inches below the top/only button. It could be a tucked in shirt or a belt buckle bulging through the shirt but if it’s a hidden button…that takes this coat to another level of surprising detail.
