Oh yeah, this is what I pretend to see in the mirror when I’m going out. Great jacket, great fit, nice belt. I would’ve opted for a plain-coloured shirt instead of the check, but heck, it still looks great. Nice one.

The jacket makes me giddy with pleasure; it does absolutely everything it should. The genius of the deeply slanted pockets: they carry the line and emphasize the fitted shape.
And I now officially proclaim, to those who feel that men’s tailored clothing can’t be sexy, look here and forever hold your tongues!
November 20, 2006 at 10:12 am
Any guesses? I’d guess Duncan Quinn or Ralph Lauren Black Label, as they’ve both done hacking jackets with slant pockets.
November 20, 2006 at 10:14 am
Do I detect attraction in your caption sart? :)
November 20, 2006 at 10:18 am
wow, sexy indeed! his broad shoulders and tight waist are very attractive and well-emphasized by the excellent jacket.
but apart from the stand-out subject i also admire the stand-out photographer: i particularly love the background in this photo, with the light of the wintry sun, some suggestion of foliage and a very manhattan street scene… a pleasure as always to the eye!
Just an Observation

Very nicely done …with the ticket pocket tweed jacket and denim combination.Question: I have tried a few jacket with the ticket pocket and feel that it me Personally look “older” (lack of a better)….any cluse is what that is all about or what one can do to overcome it.Thanks!
November 20, 2006 at 10:56 am
The shirt is brilliant. The color and pattern are a great contrast. A plain shirt would just make the look standard issue, even with the pockets.
November 20, 2006 at 11:02 am
Helps loads that the shirt matches his eyeballs and the jacket his hair. He’s being “safer” then you think. Standard dude outfit on an unstandardly (yes, it’s a new word) good looking dude.
November 20, 2006 at 11:07 am
The jacket fits him beautifully. The slant on the pockets emphasises it as well. PS – his hair looks good too!
November 20, 2006 at 11:17 am
Love the jacket! Love the look! He looks so confident in his style and do elegant. I wish I could get a jacet like this one. You cannot find one like it in Thessaloniki – nay, in the whole of Greece – unless you pay mucho moneda…
November 20, 2006 at 11:32 am
Oh, yummy. Yummy yummy yummy.
November 20, 2006 at 11:35 am
I agree that he looks great. But while I love the color of the jacket and its pockets, the shape looks a little feminine and hourglass-like to me because of the shoulder pads and small waist. Maybe it’s just a trick of the light though.
November 20, 2006 at 12:03 pm
This guy looks really nice. I love the shirt. This picture inspired me to not wear a plain shirt today.
November 20, 2006 at 12:24 pm
I REALLY like the way the jacket fits. May I suggest that he change the shirt to a lilac check … blue is a little too ‘safe’ a choice for this.
As for what “just an obeservation” said about the ticket pocket, I alwasy thought of that pocket as typically ‘english’ rather than ‘old’ … maybe the two connotations collide on our side of the Atlantic because typically older chaps (of a certain age?) would be able to afford a better suit from England or Europe, while younger fellas would be left with low-end domestic stuff until their wallets and sartorial know-how grew up. I suspect, though, that the ticket pocket is not an “old man” thing in England … perhaps our Brittish fellow-bloggers will enlighten us, but otherwise feel free to wear that youthful ticket pocket with pride (like me).

I think it’s Ralph Lauren. I have a women’s Lauren hacking jacket with those exact same pockets.
November 20, 2006 at 1:39 pm
Hot and handsome!
November 20, 2006 at 1:55 pm
looks like something out of the Ralph Lauren catalogue. nice!!
November 20, 2006 at 2:09 pm
That’s Styleforum Member Mike C! I would guess it’s a Ralphy Lauren
November 20, 2006 at 2:41 pm
great outfit ….. cuffs are perfect
November 20, 2006 at 4:02 pm
That much waist suppression makes me think it is bespoke.
positively the same dame
November 20, 2006 at 5:11 pm
fantastic! the combination here (yes to checks, yes, yes, yes) and the fit of every single thing he’s got on is perfection. plus the hair and the, um, physique. bergdorf’s should pay this guy to stand around outside.
November 20, 2006 at 5:35 pm
That’s exactly what I wanna see Sart !!! A pronounced waist finally !!!
November 20, 2006 at 5:54 pm
Very British bespoke. Looks good. I highly doubt that it’s RTW.
November 20, 2006 at 5:55 pm
Just took a second look. RLPL is a good guess given the lapel “tag.”
November 20, 2006 at 5:59 pm
nice cut on that jacket.
November 20, 2006 at 6:25 pm
Excellent look. That jacket is a prime example of how a jacket should fit for that body shape.
November 20, 2006 at 6:39 pm
I agree with deadstenographer. The checked shirt is a perfect contrast with the tweed jacket. And the belt buckle brings it all together.
And the fit of the jacket is just as it should be.
November 20, 2006 at 6:43 pm
Damn, I’ve been looking for that blue checkered style shirt for months!!! Turnbell and Asser has em, and so does Paul Smith, but I don’t want to spend 250 bucks on a shirt..
I’m waiting for Van Husen to make one, or Stafford. ;-(
November 20, 2006 at 6:48 pm
I like the look with the jeans. I wonder what style of shoes he is wearing?
November 20, 2006 at 7:03 pm
This guy looks gooooood, and he knows it! Good for him! I love those pockets – extremely unusual.
Good on you for spotting them, Sart.
November 20, 2006 at 7:47 pm
does that jacket fit him beautifully? looks to me like his shoulder pads are jutting out over his shoulder … look at the hollow beneath that cliff above his bicep.
or am i seeing things?
it’s still a good look, but to my eye the jacket is overdoing the “i got broad shoulders” thing, esp. with the snug waist.
November 20, 2006 at 8:49 pm
does anybody else think the button stance is a bit too low? otherwise, a great look to my eye.

Try Tommy Hilfiger (I think it’s the American Classic line or something like that) Mr. Useless. They make a great dress shirt that you can dress down or up.
November 20, 2006 at 11:36 pm
Isn’t this the same guy you shot outside of Ralph Lauren offices last spring with cuffed jeans and cuffed jacket sleeves? He has a great combination of casual and tailored. Very nice!
November 21, 2006 at 4:05 am
Looks effortless, unlike some others you’ve shot. It doesn’t look like he’s trying hard. Everything just fitted and fell nicely.
November 21, 2006 at 10:04 am
The jacket’s construction is just simply brilliant! The wasp-ish wiast! Who wouldn’t love it when it makes you look thinner?
November 21, 2006 at 2:30 pm
Utmost elegant.. and what´s underneath the clothes is even more great.
November 22, 2006 at 8:12 am
Handsome handsome handsome
(The guy and the look)
November 25, 2006 at 12:49 am
A big part of the appeal there is the confidence and pleasure that he projects. He feels good about what he’s wearing (as he should), and it shows.
November 28, 2006 at 6:37 pm
I love this guy’s fresh take on everything. The hair mixed with the shirt mixed with the blazer. He just looks like fun. It’s like he’s stiffness breaking out into a song. Like anonymous said, almost like he’s trumped irony with pleasure.
November 30, 2006 at 11:58 am
great contrast between the gingham and the tweed!
December 10, 2006 at 4:55 pm
To pick up on gus’ comment, I think this is the same guy as the post from 4/26/06.
February 11, 2008 at 9:22 am
Love everything about it
September 22, 2009 at 12:50 pm
It's so spanish… In Madrid or Sevilla you can find this kind of combination
June 21, 2012 at 4:38 am
Looks great! He looks direct to you. Looks european, spanish, italian….the clothes , well very nice the shirt up to date not to much, everything OK
