the minute this picture popped up on my screen, I couldn’t help but smile.
November 28, 2006 at 7:48 pm
Nice tonal play; but, truthfully, nothing “second-lookish” here….
November 28, 2006 at 8:19 pm
That is too cute :) Oh, by the way Sart, your photos were all over the New Zealand Herald’s style section this morning with an accompanying double-page article. Reading it, I felt very smug that I’d discovered you first!
Thanks so much for all your beautiful photos; they always bring a smile to my face.
November 28, 2006 at 8:20 pm
i love this. i really really do.
November 28, 2006 at 8:29 pm
This man is wearing one of the most versatile and attractive accessories …a charming smile. Gorgeous!
November 28, 2006 at 8:30 pm
He reminds me of Marc Jacobs
November 28, 2006 at 8:45 pm
I wore the exact same thing on the train back to NYC after Thanksgiving, except without the tie, and the shirt was a white/blue check.
November 28, 2006 at 8:50 pm
Is he French? Definitely not American!
Oh, that smile! Is he Italian? Did you happen to ask, perhaps? The tan-on-tan action is thrilling.
November 28, 2006 at 9:02 pm
He is a cutie.
November 28, 2006 at 9:18 pm
it’s all about the fit of the sweater, showing the cuff and the appropriate length. awesome style
November 28, 2006 at 10:29 pm
Agreed candid cool, he’s super sweet and I’m digging the schoolboy uniform/neo-monochomatic feel.
November 28, 2006 at 10:33 pm
Camel, camel!Yum yum yum!!!Inspiration for tomorrow’s look!
positively the same dame
November 28, 2006 at 11:03 pm

November 28, 2006 at 11:06 pm
November 28, 2006 at 11:16 pm
What a cutie!! :)
November 28, 2006 at 11:18 pm
Agree with Candid Cool – this guy makes me smile. He is so preppy cute/geek chic, it hurts!
November 28, 2006 at 11:31 pm
I’ve always thought that you should show a bit of cuff when wearing sweaters. My man pulls it off well.
November 29, 2006 at 12:27 am
That is just so pretty. Such wonderful use of brown. And that smile, those dimples, the hair!!!
November 29, 2006 at 12:32 am
The whole look brings out his coloration in the most beautiful way.
November 29, 2006 at 12:36 am
Damn I was wearing something really close to it the other day… but in another city!
November 29, 2006 at 12:58 am
Changed your mind on brown outfits yet Scott?
November 29, 2006 at 1:08 am
I’ve liked the v-neck sweater and tie look for a while now, and this guy looks good. A few things though: the shirt is too small, not fitted, just a little too short on the sleeve. This in turn makes him look even younger, which is not a good thing when you’re already young. And that smile is a little too gay,and I don’t mean sexuality gay, I mean the original meaning of the word.
November 29, 2006 at 1:13 am
I love it! Ken so nice to see you’re famous! -shamik
November 29, 2006 at 1:32 am
Wow, what a nice color palette. Where does one get a sweater cut that short in the torso?
November 29, 2006 at 2:12 am
Nice tonalities; I wouldn’t be inclined to buy a cream-colored shirt, but it works very well with his ensemble.
November 29, 2006 at 4:48 am
on other street style blogs, the reader can click on a magnifying glass when the mouse hovers the picture. that way you can catch the details of the outfit. can you please set up sth like that?
November 29, 2006 at 4:56 am
that is such a sweet picture – he looks so happy that you took his picture.
Can you give us a clue about what you say to people to get them to open up and go for the photo?
November 29, 2006 at 6:37 am
One word: autumn.
November 29, 2006 at 7:04 am
Mr Brown, cool
November 29, 2006 at 7:36 am
I don’t really have much to say about this except that I like it. You can never go wrong with this look.
November 29, 2006 at 7:51 am
What a cutie! I love his smile. He looks French. Like the camel color sweater with slim black tie.
November 29, 2006 at 8:00 am
Wow – almost lika a bit younger version of Dave Gahan (Depeche Mode):-)
November 29, 2006 at 8:58 am
Doesn’t he look like the French actor Jean-Pierre Leaud in his younger days? He could have stepped right out of a Truffaut movie circa 1974.
November 29, 2006 at 9:09 am
How does one maage to show a bit of cuff under the sleeve of the sweater when it keeps sliding over it when one moves his hands? (or pulls further up, depending on the movement).
November 29, 2006 at 9:21 am
Re Lit’s comment that the guy’s smile was too gay, as in carefree, cheerful: huh?!?!
Guess it’s those dour smiles that really make the grade….
November 29, 2006 at 9:32 am
I love his hair! Completely sets off the tan palette.
November 29, 2006 at 11:16 am
…it looks sort of like paul dinello (geoffrey) from strangers with candy… ?
November 29, 2006 at 11:17 am
He is the men’s designer buyer at Bergdorf!
November 29, 2006 at 12:10 pm

November 29, 2006 at 3:00 pm
Narrow pants but not skinny pants – great. Like Cantarelli Man of a few days ago.

November 29, 2006 at 6:09 pm
So adorably boy-next-door. He can keep me warm this winter! =]
November 29, 2006 at 10:17 pm
I like the look. but I wish i could see the shoes he is wearing. Any inspiration there? What a clean, classic, preppy look.
November 29, 2006 at 11:12 pm
agh!….why is it that americans think that every nice looking boy must be french, go to france and see for yourselves how there is plenty of ugly people and tackiness there… as everywhere else……..anyways, he is far from looking like j-p leaud, this guy is lovely but he doesn’t look at all like jpl…he looks like a typical new york jewish……hot jewish boy…. hot… maybe mix…..maybe a bit italian….am i right????….. oh and he is definetely gay…..

No offense taken butch. I’m all for smiles and many of the photos on this blog where the subjects smile actually add to the person’s look. But here, it just seems too much for me, too happy and it’s difficult to explain, but too soft, as well. I wonder if anyone will have any idea what I’m trying to say: look at it again, you’ll see.
November 30, 2006 at 12:38 pm
Love the slim fit of everything. It makes him worth that second look, I’d say.
November 30, 2006 at 4:56 pm
He’s a cutie.Love the same color look.

I agree with carisimagiovana: definitely your typical New York NJB (nice jewish boy). Who happens to be well dressed and cute.

December 27, 2006 at 12:20 am

After browsing your archives, I must say, this is easily my favourite. :)
December 6, 2007 at 3:43 pm
I’m annoyed at myself for liking this photo as am not a big fan of the ‘matchy matchy’ look but somehow he pulls it off – grrrr!
