Minus his boots with that outfit, I like this guy.
November 6, 2006 at 7:15 pm
now that is hot.
November 6, 2006 at 7:26 pm
This may be case in which one would profitably work to diminish the sense of lean and long, rather than to emphasize it via slimmest cut, not to mention ground-grazing doggy!
November 6, 2006 at 7:47 pm
Who is that? Looks familiar.
November 6, 2006 at 8:10 pm
I can’t shake the feeling that this guy has some serious tension in his neck, with his shoulder blades hunched up around his ears … mostly it’s the bird’s nest scarf, but the tight, short jeans contribute too.
November 6, 2006 at 8:25 pm
great picture, you should definetively try to tak emore pics like this and not-so formal pictures.
November 6, 2006 at 8:27 pm
Nice jacket. Nice coat on the dog as well.
November 6, 2006 at 8:55 pm
Ouch, Anonymous at 8:10pm; that was a bit nasty, wasn’t it? My only complaint is that he isn’t smiling…I’d take a smile over a scowl any day. Also the shadow falls on his lower legs and creates the illusion that he is standing on his tippy toes. As far as the look goes, it’s great. He owns it, it works, it’s fabulous.
November 6, 2006 at 10:24 pm
With aviators and a gauloise instead of the pup, he’d be even hotter, no?
November 6, 2006 at 10:38 pm
love doggy,so cute!
November 6, 2006 at 10:43 pm
what a lovly dog!
November 6, 2006 at 10:51 pm
November 7, 2006 at 12:45 am
Perfect…but for the boots.French?Sure;he emphasises his slimness,as any Frenchwoman would do.
November 7, 2006 at 1:29 am
Hm. I actually like these skinnies better, though, theoretically, they look like straight-leg denims on him. Dunno why the appeal. Probably the colour or the wash. He carries himself well and the doggie is precious.
positively the same dame
November 7, 2006 at 2:13 am
i wish i looked this good while walking my dogs — i’m lucky if i get out the door wearing two shoes that match and something to disguise the fact that i’m a nightgown. but i do have the same bag.
November 7, 2006 at 2:30 am
no not trainspotting–edward scissorhands.
November 7, 2006 at 3:21 am
Like it. Reminds me of a London Indie rocker.
November 7, 2006 at 3:24 am
This guy looks like a good-looking woman and I don’t know if that’s a bad thing. Androgynous, feminine, masculine, who the hell knows anymore!
November 7, 2006 at 5:39 am
Nice jacket … the rest is rather boring.
November 7, 2006 at 6:28 am
Is it the people you pick for your photos or are most of the people in New York blessed with ‘chicken legs’. Most seem to be devoid of all muscle or bulk.
November 7, 2006 at 7:18 am
Love the little fellow in the post I live with two Dachshunds Charlie and Louie, viewed from London
November 7, 2006 at 8:53 am
Visually interesting and “Yes” Trainspotting does come to mind.
I would have loved to see his legs closer together to get more a sense of the “inverted pyramid” effect that his ensemble gives off.
And thank you for not carrying the animal, kind sir.
November 7, 2006 at 10:21 am
I can never find jackets to fit me like that. so jealous
November 7, 2006 at 10:29 am
I hope that his hunched stance is just temporary and not permanent, he looks cold and worn out…
we could grow up together
November 7, 2006 at 4:28 pm
just saw him later that day when the sun was setting. very lean. very parisian.
November 9, 2006 at 10:26 am
he’s hot :)
November 12, 2006 at 11:40 am
oh gosh….love his style….and his dog also,so cute…..
November 16, 2006 at 11:32 pm
Gosh, give him to me! :o
December 6, 2006 at 9:10 am
This does not look like the same guy…at all. This most recent pic is utterly tasty.
He likes the “Big on Top” look, I see. However, I’m not sure it’s the best on him. For example, for today’s look I would’ve liked to see a knit with a slightly smaller gauge so that he didn’t appear so bulky (for both outfits, it’s like he’s trying to convince me that he’s not skinny from top to bottom when he obviously is.)
December 6, 2006 at 9:15 am
Those pants in the update, they look like Dior Homme’s new ultra-flared wool dress pants. Can anyone confirm/deny?
December 6, 2006 at 9:18 am
Re the update, first, happy to see that the dog has maintained its classic look.
Still not overly enthusiastic about the guy, however; pants are droopy and the bulging pockets on the top, which falls near the waist, do nothing for the line…..
December 6, 2006 at 9:31 am
I’m not feeling the trousers at all. It’s his ectomorphic body type. The denim/leather outfit better suits him. He looks like a young Crispin Glover. This look is common, but he seems like a nice young man and he pulls it off, I guess.
December 6, 2006 at 10:00 am
Love the first shot. Everything is slim boy perfection. That dog is a fabulous accessory, hope they are best friends.
December 6, 2006 at 10:44 am
I am officially addicted to your blog.Love getting my daily dose of fashion foward thinking going on in my fave cities. Absolute eye candy!
P.S. Feel free to check out my blog too ;)
December 6, 2006 at 10:47 am
a long haired dachsund never goes out of style. he’s gorgeous!
December 6, 2006 at 11:16 am
How is the name Nolita derived and where roughly is it located? Thanks
December 6, 2006 at 11:30 am
December 6, 2006 at 11:56 am
Cute dog!! :)
December 6, 2006 at 12:00 pm
Hmm Sart, I can’t agree with you about the consistency, except for the emphasis on the long and lean line. And the doggy!
In the new photo, he looks much softer: more refined and feminine. In the old, he’s showing his more masculine and rough side. They seem like different people to me.
He looks good both ways though.
December 6, 2006 at 12:04 pm
Great pictures ;)Nobody answer me last time, when I asked if somebody knew which jeans was he wearing. How about now?
December 6, 2006 at 12:16 pm
I am totaly digging his new and improved look. So much more “relaxed” than before and really stylish.
His new look solves his ‘neck tension’ image that was bothering me in the first shot.
Heck, even his haircut is more youthful. Total upgrade.
December 6, 2006 at 1:13 pm
I agree, consistency is part of one’s personal style. I like the ‘cleaness’ (or simplicity) of his outfit in the most recent photo.
December 6, 2006 at 1:32 pm
The first look says Holden Caulfield the second is self explanatory
December 6, 2006 at 1:53 pm
hmmm. to be honest. I feel this look is way to affected . I maybe appreciated it a few years ago, but now its just to severe and hipster. cool dog though
December 6, 2006 at 2:01 pm
Like the guy’s look when he is in the masculine jeans look but not so much in the other ensemble–he looks rather uncomfortable and not as confident.
December 6, 2006 at 2:54 pm
I love the fit on this coat.
December 6, 2006 at 4:29 pm
He looks better in the most recent photo, much less stiff and cliche.
December 6, 2006 at 4:55 pm
I prefer this outfit/look to the last one. Nice pairing of lengths in jacket and trousers here.
He still looks cold and underfed, though.
December 6, 2006 at 5:41 pm
The green sweater in the first picture is YSL. i have the same one in black!
I love how he wears his with all the buttons buttoned up and the collar flipped down, opposed to the traditional one or two buttons.
December 7, 2006 at 12:53 am
Nolita = North of Little Italy. It’s east of Soho and west of the LES (Lower East Side). South of Houston and, um, north of Little Italy. All in downtown Manhattan.
December 7, 2006 at 8:31 am
I don’t see any consistency in the two outfits. Unless you want to include the dog and then that’s it.
December 7, 2006 at 10:31 am
More feminine than ever, but he has a great sense of style, clearly! And I honestly think he’s very comfortable in his own skin, in both photos, and no daschund can replace that as a great accessory!
December 7, 2006 at 12:22 pm
It’s eery how his stanse is identical in both photos, the proportions are the same despite… tight jeans vs. loose trousers. The short jacket/sweater. These CONSISTENT YET DIFFERENT looks are probably the reason Christopher Niquet is such a great stylist.
December 7, 2006 at 10:20 pm
Love the picture with the scarf! The latest one…not much. It is like he was one person on the first and another on the second: the hot, adventurous one on the first, and the opposite one on the second. The femenine connection: only if you equal femenine with effete.Definitely the scarf works for his figure and attitude. The dog is just a must!
December 9, 2006 at 10:58 am
I agree. I like his older look better.
December 16, 2006 at 6:59 pm
Hello! The dog looks just like me but with long hair!
Love from London
The London (Sausage) Dog xxx
P.S. Like the outfit too!
August 12, 2007 at 8:47 pm
his clothes are not consistent in style. the best thing is the very cute dog.
Mr. John Steed
August 29, 2007 at 6:34 pm
he seems to be wearing high heels in the second pic!
December 27, 2007 at 4:06 pm
I love how he is able to wear two completely different looks and yet maintain his own style. I think that is what’s meant by consistency and the dachshund is the perfect accessory.
May 8, 2008 at 1:33 pm
It’s kinda slim but I like it, it doesn’t look like a skinny jean at all, it looks more like a straight leg denim jean, with the short jacket and the scarf, it looks very nice to me, comfortable also, specially, when the spring starts.
May 16, 2009 at 2:43 pm
it’s christopher niquet :) he was a contributor to january’s issue of elle and he was lookin’ goooood in his pic, but judging from the above photos hes always lookin’ good. i think perhaps some negative nancys are jealous that his cheekbones could cut glass…
April 9, 2010 at 6:34 pm
Love the dog.
March 5, 2013 at 7:15 am
What to wear whilst walking the pooch is always a fashion dilemma. It is hard to look truly chic when carrying…a poop bag dispenser. Louis Vuitton just doesn’t make them.
