Yeah, this is heaven–the coat/scarf combination, I mean.

As for the coat itself–its volume, length, cut and patterning add up to a wonderfully formidable garment.

(What is it about men’s overcoats that make them such a treat?)

He is definitely not American. We don’t it do this well without calling more attention to ourselves.

Why is it the older guys always look the best in these pics. Partly money I suppose but also experience in what works for one. Ah experience, if only we could convince the young beauties who litter your pages of its merits over youthful inexperience!!

You weren’t kidding. The trousers and shoes are such a great part of this look.

i think the coat is waay too big (the fit) and in my opinion, if the length of it is slightly shorter, the whole look might be better…for now, the length of the coat is hiding that cool pants of his…and nice shoes btw…

i think he looks just great!
for a time bigger images were showed in the middle of the page – but they stopped. it was easier to view and more elegant;)

The coat is cool -is that what they mean by a volume coat?

I love the mix of colors and patterns BUT I absolutely adore the rich espresso colored tassled loafers. The crisp pleat of his pant legs begs one to consider the beauty of his suede shoes. Fabulous!!!

Very nice–gorgeous coat. Love the scarf/coat “harmony” as you point out. Something about the shoes is not working for me, though. Maybe they’re a bit too slipper-ish?

I love th look of Paisley with a twed or check that has the right tones. Ralph Loren LONG AGO did it, and Dries does it in an exotic mode.

Wonderful garments and details, warm and elegant. But wow, check out the bad-guy edge of the aviators and the scowl. Not someone to mess with.

The use of color and patterns here are incredible. I am curious to know if it was well thought out, or he just threw it together. It looks so good, yet edgy as if it was just thrown together. My only complaint is the length of the overcoat. It seems too long 3/4 would have been sharper.

i just love that there are people who still dress this way! it looks almost glam to me, a visual treat most inspiring (although i’m myself not into the colors and the cut.). he took great care: the colors and the patterns match and look at the beautiful quality.

I like the pattern a lot. It looks to me like the cut is too generous, though. I can’t tell completely from the angle, but it looks a big baggy.

Nice pattern, though, and very nice scarf combination.

I like the color combination, but I think the coat is a little too roomy for this gentleman. Otherwise a really nice look!

Fabulous!Just goes to show there IS room for warm earth tones and browns on the streets of NYC! As much as we New Yorkers love black, brown is now coming in a close second. Even I, a person so devoted to black in the last 30 years, have embraced it. Whew!..love it!Bravo!
