That’s what’s up!!! The oh not so long ago early 90s were still coming out of social segregation. There were more cross-overs (having nothing to do with cars) and what we called multi-culti but the high-top fade that kid is wearing was a big part of what was -”is black, is black, is black” Ah yeah! good stuff especially the multi culti! Thank you Conscious Hip Hop! I look forward to seeing more of this and leather medallions!
I like the look on the left (are those Converse sneakers ?) but I love the shirt on the right. What I really dislike are the high tops on the right because this young man’s legs are thin compared to the shoes.
Maybe a lighter high top Converse ?
Wow, anybody remember the Pacman-game graphics? They are here again in this wonderful shirt. And the pearls are the dots that Packman ate up when it moved in the playground. I love this.
I’m always drawn to the facial expressions you capture… both guys look more curious than surprised, which leaves me curious! the guy on the left has major swagger, grabbing his chin. Hope to see another photo of them again soon..
It looks like you just insulted them and then had to snap the picture quickly and run. I love the raised eyebrows on the guy in the right, and then the way the guy is holding his chin on the left. The guy on the right’s shirt is wacky.
Ummmm, am I missing something? NOTHING outstanding here. Guy on the left could be anyone in America and guy on the right did a job of looking somewhat like a throwback. Looks like he’s trying too hard though. I thought “style” was about being true to yourself, not trying to be something you’re not?
I think these guys are fans of Odd Future. Similar to Tyler the Creator’s style. This hip hop group has a cult like following and does pop up shops that sell clothes like this…lined up for blocks.
Oh man, I teach lots of kids who look like this (or are trying to look like this) and I don’t think most of them have any clue how much they look like their parents did not THAT long ago.
