August 10, 2012 at 9:03 am
All kinds of possibilities for a wardrobe malfunction with this pose, but both you and she kept it together. ;)
August 17, 2012 at 10:44 am
I couldn’t agree more. She is lovely and the outfit is lovely as well.
August 10, 2012 at 9:14 am

Her hair cut is so cool. I also want to shave the side of my hair like her, but it would be difficult to find a new job as i am expected to ! (sorry my english is not perfect)

Wonder Women needs a red, white, and blue police call box for moments like this. I’ll contact Mayor Bloomberg at once.
August 10, 2012 at 9:47 am
Love the bag and her necklace.
August 10, 2012 at 9:50 am
Wonderfully captured scene. I’m really loving the background in this shot – billiards and church – fabulous!
August 12, 2012 at 5:34 am
The background is really nice. And her bag… I’d like something similar one. ^^
August 10, 2012 at 10:01 am
Love Amsterdam Billiards! Also, LOOOVEEE that leather is in this fall and starting early. I’ll be posting an upcoming outfit in leather, check it out!
August 10, 2012 at 10:07 am
I like the combination of the red, light up billiards sign, and then the big church in the background.

Immediately I identified with this as being one of the most uncomfortable moments I could have on the street. Cold (the people in the background are wearing jackets), navigating in heels, and dropping a bag, exposing more of my cleavage than I bargained for, and possibly to much of my thighs, and then having my picture taken because I was “hot”. This says it all in support of dressing for oneself first, not to to meet a cultural model of vampiness..at least during the day.

Interesting reading… mine was completely different: I see a remarkably confident woman who feels comfortable enough with herself to simply stop in the middle of the sidewalk & dig around in her purse to find something. She clearly knows how to avoid a wardrobe malfunction, which suggests she’s at home in and knows her look. So I read her as having very much dressed for herself. I, on the other hand, could probably not pull this off with such (or any) grace, so I won’t try it. :)
August 17, 2012 at 1:25 am
She doesn’t look like as much of a wallflower as that. She looks very serene and comfortable by her expression. She is hardly revealing too much cleavage, and she isn’t “hot”. She is hot. And I think she likes herself.
So I agree with the second part of your statement. Thats why we should all dress for ourselves and not assume that our way of thinking is the only way. I bet she would feel far more self conscious if she were wearing some loose slacks and flats.
August 17, 2012 at 1:42 am
She didn’t drop it. She set it down as she is looking inside it, instead of picking it up.

wow. total black look. love that bag! :)

Dolce Vita comes to my mind looking at this picture.
What a great, spontaneous shot and I love, love her necklace.

you consistently make new york look wonderful. she is some kinda ballsy rocking a leather skirt on an august day!
So 80′s looking in the best way.

Oh, that hard edge with that beautiful figure. <3
August 10, 2012 at 2:11 pm
I always wondering how you manage to find so perfect background for your models… it is always the story.
August 10, 2012 at 3:14 pm
Digging the hair and the general ’80s vibe. Ray-Bans would have been the perfect finishing touch!
August 10, 2012 at 3:32 pm
That’s one of my favorite spots to play billiards!
Desparately seeking…anything in the bag!

Very sexy. I like the monochrome black on black look, and the way her gold necklace matches the gold studs on her bag. I don’t know if that was intentional, but I like it.
She also manages to pull of that: I-couldn’t-care-less- attitude, which she obviously doesn’t. My girlfriend would never put her bag on the ground. She scolds me when I put grocery bags on the floor.
August 17, 2012 at 1:38 am
Huh! That was my first thought too! She just throws that very expensive and coveted bag down on the ground like it was nothing in the middle of the city street and digs around for the grey shirt/sweater taking her time. Not worried by anything at all that woman. Thats why she is so sexy. I think i learned a valuable lesson here.
August 10, 2012 at 5:20 pm
Big bag trouble! so familiar!!!!
August 10, 2012 at 5:36 pm
Nice bag. Love the studs.

That neckpiece is the business.
August 10, 2012 at 5:46 pm
She’s a pool shark. All the 80′s comments made me think of Scorsese’s THE COLOR OF MONEY…and Julian Billiards on the old 14th street.
August 10, 2012 at 5:48 pm
I was in this pose two hours ago, near the ground, ruffling through my bag. However, I did not look any where near as sexy as she does !
August 10, 2012 at 7:36 pm
i like how natural this photo is. very organic.
August 10, 2012 at 10:22 pm
Even without seeing her whole outfit, i’m in love with it! So effortlessly cool and sexy!
August 11, 2012 at 6:38 am
I love her!! she is just a bit vintage style and rock’n'roll!!

I like seeing somebody in a more natural situation. I’m sure every girl has had to root through her bag on the pavement at some point!
August 11, 2012 at 11:34 am
Great background. Cute woman. Love the black/brown combo, the neckpiece, the hair, and what I can see of the strappy high heels (which also appear to be beige). Love how the whole thing comes together. The thing I love the MOST, is there is not a cell phone or tattoo in sight.
It does not detract from the blog,
however, I have always suspected that most of these images are staged. No woman that I know will even put their handbag on a floor, much less a filthy NYC sidewalk. Matter of fact, back in the day, I used to come through Penn Station, traveling between upstate NY and NJ, and I would never put my leather overnight bag on the floor in Penn Station. Why? In NYC there’s a newstand box (one in the background over her left shoulder), telephone booth, or some other less dirty surface on every corner. Not to mention, a woman who looks like this, would be most welcome in virtually any establishment and, unlike us mere mortals would not need to purchase anything.
August 11, 2012 at 5:34 pm
awesome she already has the new uptown astor satchel from Michael Kors!
August 11, 2012 at 6:49 pm
makes me think of the movie, “Grifters” and …uck! NYC is a filthy (and yes, we all concur, utterly amazing but still filthy) city, why would anyone put their bag on the ground there?
August 11, 2012 at 9:01 pm
Lovely chest, shoulders, arms
August 11, 2012 at 11:52 pm
I love these sort of candid moments. It feels so real.
I agree with other commenters, she is working that hair!

I sometimes wonder how beautiful women live. How do their everyday life look like. She is one of these women I sometimes think about.
August 15, 2012 at 2:11 am
On her way to the club: beautiful.
If, on the other hand, she’s on her way home: stunning.
August 17, 2012 at 1:28 am
She reminds me of Catwoman. Like the superhero, not like a lady with too many cats.

I live on this street.
Its amazing how a photographer can capture something you see everyday and make is special and more beautiful. I often find myself getting annoyed at the blaring orange lights coming from Amsterdam Billiards, however when looking at the juxtaposition of them against the beautiful design of the church, they somehow become more meaningful.
From here on out, I will start dressing up more in hopes of being captured by the Sart’s lense….
