Woody Allen thought New York was a city that existed in black and white. You’re really hitting those notes with these images.

Keep it up with the black and whites…your shots are incredible.

Item I own, think highly of, and will never wear:
In 1998, I purchased a purple silk jacket with extensive beading/sequins all over it. The beading is mostly gold colored and very flashy. It has sort of a Sargent Pepper quality to it. I am a shy person and I was visualizing a transformation of my inner self.
It closes with hooks and eyes in the front. When my son saw it he said, “Oh it’s an Amish garment.”
I am less shy now but maybe I also have more sense now too.

Love the black & white. Would love to see more close ups of New York life. A lot of photos of New York are about the vast buildings and long streets but when you get photos like this, it gives you more of an atmosphere about a place.

Sometimes I think how did the picture unrelated to fashion come up on your website…however they do not disturb me at all, contrary I find them really amazing.
I guess in general person who can catch a beauty of people, can catch a beauty of anything!
You are gifted to see beauty! And we are lucky because you share it with us!

That is an astoundingly beautiful photograph that hits all the marks wonderfully. The depth of focus brings the ornament into high relief, the lighting is just magical, and the composition superb. Bravo!
So much of the beauty of eastern US cities is in the minutae — and so much of it is lost when one only focusses on the vastness and size of the places. As with so much else, it’s the small things that make places a home rather than just a place to exist. One could devote an entire life to seeking such things out and documenting them, probably in a single city.

Wow! So simple and so powerful! What a great picture! It always amazes me how an image can capture a feeling and transmit so much purely by attaching meaning to what we perceive to be true in our minds!

I admit, I mainly come here for the fashion, but your recent depictions of NYC have made me want to take a trip. I guess I know where I’ll be this weekend.

W. Allen comes to my mind looking at the pictures of NYC in black and white and I can hear Rapsody in Blue in the background.
Scott, you are expending your talent to more than fashion and I can only applaud your achievements ! (Does this make sense ?)

Really great shot!

The bird is a refreshing difference from most of the signs on top of cabs that advertise strip clubs in NY. Of course, NY wouldn’t be NY without it’s yellow taxis. A beautiful way to capture the spirit of NY.

Does anyone know what kind of bird?beautiful pic!!!
