One of the things I love most about this site is how it inspires me to try new looks. I’ve been wondering how to wear my fur vest as part of an outfit (without having to wear it on top of my coat and take it on and off every time I go indoors) and I think I just found my solution. Thanks, Sart. Your site is more effective than most fashion magazines that it actually encourages me to look not just at the people you shoot, but to reconsider the way I dress, as well, because you’re shooting real people with real style.

Do you have any shots of people actually dressed for the cold, other than Bill Cunningham? Please show us that you can be fashionable and warm. I guess my Hoosier Mama common sense is kicking in.
I’m not keen on the contrast of the light coat and the vest. Fur is always a bad choice in my opinion, but here it’s clashing with the skirt and the coat. Seems dressed for effect and not the weather, which is always a bad start, imo.
I really like this, but I think I’d make sure my vest fit snug, so it would not add all that poundage. I’m sure this woman is much slimmer than she looks. She still looks great, not heavy or anything, just adding too much bulk around your midsection is never a great thing. the outer part looks very summery.
Thank you for posting this picture. I often get discouraged looking a pictures of rail thin models. I love that this woman’s calfs are a little larger and she doesn’t make any excuses for it. She looks fabulous and comfortable in her own skin and to a young girl like myself, this picture is quite inspirational. It makes me feel a little more comfortable with myself.
she looks great. i love her white jacket… but is it really THAT cold that people wont pose for the sart? come to montreal… i know i’d stop in our -36C weather to have my photo taken.
I’m not so crazy about the outfit, it looks too bulked-up on top (hair, coat) in contrast to the shorter skirt. But I do like the motion of the photograph, it catches at least some of what the clothes seem like as you go about your daily business.
love the picture but however hard I try, I just can’t find anything nice about the look, if it wasn’t for the perfect hair she would be, at the best, forgetable

Well she looks great on the fly! The movement shows off her coat beautifully.

Reminiscent of a younger Catherine Deneauve

OMG, that 80s Berlin song from Top Gun just ran through my head!
She’s crazy and that outfit’s deserving of praise for days.
This is like, the luckiest shot ever (rivaled only by the Parisienne on the blue bike and the androgynous girl in the middle of an NY crosswalk).

I’m very traditional –
I don’t care for the lighter weight coat over the furry vest.
I like the vest/skirt/stockings/boot, but to me the coat is an afterthought. I might actually like a big cape instead

When you take someone’s shot that is on the move, do you ask for their permission afterwards?
On a related note, do you need to ask for their permission?

Gorgeous vest. Pretty, confident woman, and a beautiful pose. The motion really makes it dynamic. Such classic elements.
