Love the polka dots!
August 3, 2012 at 7:18 pm
I was just thinking that!
August 3, 2012 at 9:59 am
The way the bar obstructs her eyes makes this photo mysterious.
August 3, 2012 at 10:07 am
block on the eyes :-)
August 3, 2012 at 10:12 am
Beautiful photo! Love the top and her hairstyle!
August 3, 2012 at 10:14 am
Her hair is adorable and I like the scene. Love it!
August 3, 2012 at 10:16 am
what a great work station!
August 3, 2012 at 10:17 am
Very intriguing . I like how the bar is block her eyes, seems artistic.

Working lunch 2012.
Ms Kitty wins the race.
August 3, 2012 at 10:22 am
Cool hairstyle and i also really like the colour of the top. The rail bar blocking the eyes of the girl kind of draws attention on the two hair buns( sorry i don’t know the right word tor this!) popping up from the head.

Before the heat really sets in! I like the polka dots…
August 3, 2012 at 10:33 am
I wish I could pull off that hair without looking like a total twat. Kudos to Bjork and all the women who look adorable with these pompoms, I envy you!

having her palate for food and drink while sitting on a pallet
August 3, 2012 at 10:44 am
Pretty dookie knots. We used to wear our hair like that…until it fell out.
August 3, 2012 at 10:46 am
Ohhh the Smile to Go crowd…if you’re into fashion-spottings, this is the place to lunch!
August 3, 2012 at 10:52 am
Great shot. Love the composition!
August 3, 2012 at 10:53 am
By the way, I really love this outfit. Specifically the neck of the top.
August 3, 2012 at 10:58 am
The hair is very 90s style!! love the top though and the positioning of the railings makes it mysterious!
August 3, 2012 at 10:59 am
Brilliantly staged. I love her polka dot top.
August 3, 2012 at 11:03 am
I’ve noticed this girl as well…maybe because she lives down the street from where I live?
I like her polka dot top a lot. I find it sort of prohibitive the way the bar crosses her eyes, it’s as if she’s classified information.
August 3, 2012 at 11:07 am
August 3, 2012 at 11:16 am
Such an interesting composition with the bar covering up her eyes.
August 3, 2012 at 11:17 am
Gorgeous photo! I love that her eyes are perfectly blocked out by the bar. And her hair and polka dots are so cute!

She is so cute,I Love her hairstyle
August 3, 2012 at 12:24 pm
Superlative composition: stark contrast between darkness and beauty, both clean and unexpected. new&improved stylelanguage.wordpress.com
impossible, you got her… The modern Minnie Mouse! Urban polka dots, cute edge! It makes me smile – that’s the most difficult thing for a photograph!
August 3, 2012 at 12:29 pm
You realize your site is not about fashion anymore, but about people? You’re a great photographer, thank you for publishing.
August 3, 2012 at 4:03 pm
I know you’re playing to the nuance of fashion, but I couldn’t agree less. Fashion = style (everything, especially people). “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” Coco Chanel new&improved stylelanguage.wordpress.com
August 3, 2012 at 10:25 pm
yes, and about photography. it’s the quality of the images and the suggestion of underlying stories that keep me coming back.
August 3, 2012 at 12:36 pm
I love the bars in front of her. It makes her a little mysterious! But I love the hair and the shape of her shirt.
August 3, 2012 at 12:41 pm
August 3, 2012 at 12:43 pm
She looks so elegant and composed, despite sitting on an old pallet.

Love that city living…

THE STEL STYLE
August 3, 2012 at 12:55 pm
nice picture!! I like her hair!!
August 3, 2012 at 12:59 pm
I find this picture intriguing, even sinister. First, we don’t see her eyes, then the background looks like a prison door, but I like the soft brown of her hair, blouse and pallet against the harsh black-grey-blue color of the background.
Nice composition, as usual.
P.S. As a european, I never understood how people can sit anywhere
(side walks, outside steps, pallets ) in their good clothes.
August 3, 2012 at 1:13 pm
Who knew a crate could also serve as a workstation? LOVE the hair and the orange polka dots (two things I wouldn’t expect). In fact, I may wear my hair just like this to beat the heat.
Thanks Sartorialist – you’re the best, per the usual!

POLKA DOTS!!! and her hair!! i love it! the juxtaposition between her childlike innocence and her surrounding location really makes the photograph.

The railings create a sort of Barbara Kruger effect… very cool.
August 4, 2012 at 4:02 pm
points for getting at the essence and class
August 4, 2012 at 5:27 pm
I’d love to see those polka dots on a men’s button up., though I don’t know if many men could pull of a collar like this one. Polka dots, I think, are the essence of elegance in simplicity — brilliantly exemplified here. I mostly use them as accents – in scarfs, socks, etc. But, I haven’t yet had the chance to buy a polka dot shirt. Maybe now’s the time.
