the jacket is beautiful, so is the outfit. it makes me wonder though, because i don’t really understand this look, where he’s coming from style-wise. It’s funny because we all have our own set of personal rules and guidelines for what “works.”
The comoposition of the photo combined with the subject’s cold stare and his hard-edged clothing choices make him an arresting–and vaguely menacing–presence. If I were casting a film about a 1970′s hit man, I’d want him for the role.
My reaction exactly: generally when one item Pops! then the outfit is out of balance, but this has that initial reaction and gradually draws you in to the rest of the outfit. Well executed! (and I want that jacket!)
now, That’s how to wear a print :)
[I am still devastated by the recent pajama-wearing fellow.]
also, I agree Completely with both peter & :D j’ecris.
:)
This man has a some of the most impressive cheekbones I have ever seen. I love the colour of his jacket, it’s definitely something I would wear. The jacket mixed with that shirt looks perfect. His hair is better groomed than mine!
P.S. I will doing a post on Sunday on my favourite blogs. I love your blog, and so I have added it to my list. If you could stop by Sunday and take a look that would be great.
Floral print shirts now are nothing special. It’s the red in the flowers combined with the (perfectly cut) jacket that make this photo special. http://niceshoesasshole.tumblr.com/
Fascinating cheek bones a la Jack Palance. He could be a model for a painter or a sculptor, he’s got the face for it.
To me, his clothes are secondary, although I like the unusual great color of the jacket.
Great shot. Love the red jacket. Too bad about the smoke … not passing judgment about smoking, just my opinion about how unappealing cigarettes are to me in photos. Like, I always put my drink down or behind my back when I’m being photographed ’cause I just don’t want people to see that.
Indeed interesting: he is wearing the same clothes, but the whole impression is very different. Here, he looks dark, sad, actually a bit ill.
The outfit is… interesting. Not my cup of tea though. As usual, the photo itself is very good.
ottimi colori per un perfetto pomeriggio milanese…
interessante la giacca, simile nel volume e nel taglio alle ultime della casa Valentino
la camicia interna contrasta ma riprende sia il pantalone che la giacca, carino il gioco sul suo tessuto.
In presenting great personal style or fashion the cigarette might seem as an accessory. As such, it’s very unglamorous. Visually it looks like part of the outfit like a piece of smoking jewelry. One feels that the smoke should be put out. It’s a respiratory health hazard that has nothing to do with sartorialism.
This is the most compelling photo u took so far. I live in Italy, and this is some cutting edge photography. I think you should take more photos like this. Real people look like this. I think glamour is great, but true beauty is timeless, and you know how to capture it.
