Love the symmetry in this portrait – from their similar facial expressions, the placing of their hands and feet, and the fact that they’re both wearing dresses with socks and shoes! Quite a powerful and emotive shot! Love the backdrop too!
Great photo, perfectly structured!
July 16, 2012 at 9:17 am
The girl on the left seems to be saying: “Ya talking to me? Yeah? What ya gonna do ’bout it?”
As for the girl on the right, she seems rather p-o’d to have gotten the cleaning lady’s floral dress instead of the simple black dress.

Beautiful! I like their outfit but the best is the composition of the photo, just great :)

They really look like models and this looks like a fashion print ad. The dresses, shoes and socks are all in a certain style, the girls are beautiful and the shot is flawless. Congrats.

They seem so tame… pretty but tame. Completely the opposite of the results of my street style find I just put up on my site.
July 16, 2012 at 3:30 pm
I love the looks on their faces! The frilly dresses contrast with their poses. And the floral vs. the linear background is stunning.
July 16, 2012 at 3:33 pm
I love the ambiguity of the photo… Girly, feminine dresses with a Badass attitude! Love IT!

July 17, 2012 at 9:54 am
Ahh that’s such a cool picture! Love it.
July 17, 2012 at 9:55 am
An extraordinary capture..
The juxtaposition of the dark post-modern backdrop and these classically dressed beauties make the composition so strong and enticing. Simply inspirational!
July 17, 2012 at 10:17 am
For me, this photo has a strong mid-1950s feel. Bobby socks, polka dots and floral prints reigned during that era, and every “nice” girl wore modest dresses. But most reminiscent of the period is what they seem to be thinking. Faced with the Good Housekeeping ideal of life for a woman–husband, children, wood-paneled station wagon, a Levittown house far from the city–they silent wonder, “Is that all there is?”
Their uncomfortable perch on the metal bar seems a symbol of their options. Will they leap into the socially-acceptable pattern laid out before them, or will they dare to explore what lies on the other side of the wall?
July 17, 2012 at 11:06 am
Love these chicks.
July 17, 2012 at 11:31 am
Absolutely beautiful! What beauties. It looks like their faces should be switched. The girl on the right has a striking bad girl face with a sweet dress and pose and the girl on the left has an innocent girly face with a bad girl dress and pose.
July 19, 2012 at 3:56 am
Great comment. What a intriguing thing to notice! ( plus I just had to use the new reply buttons)
July 17, 2012 at 11:59 am
It’s has a modern day Lolita vibe, which isn’t really incredibly original but it’s always cute to look at. And they pull it off incredibly well, with the freckles, pigtails and socks.
July 17, 2012 at 1:35 pm
The girl on the right’s glare is just piercing! She steals the photo with the stare and high cheek bones, so beautiful.
July 17, 2012 at 1:54 pm
This picture would make for a great cover to Silvia Avallone´s novel “Swimming to Elba”.
July 17, 2012 at 5:11 pm
They don’t look very happy , but the photo is cool
new outfit post

July 19, 2012 at 3:53 am
They look like sisters, although I doubt they are. I look like that with my closest friends. We start to look alike. Great capture.
July 19, 2012 at 11:43 am
las chicas muy guapas pero con vestidos muy feos, de mercadillo. Parecen dos pueblerinas de un estado muy religioso de Estados Unidos.

Sitting in my apartment alone, I muttered aloud as I saw this image, “What a perfect picture!”
It seems to hold at least one story and many secrets.
