I want to learn more about those pants.
July 18, 2012 at 12:51 pm
It looks like Thai-fisherman-pants style to me, oversize pants with rope attached at the upper back hips (to tight it later at front like in the pic). I have several myself, also have sewn some and gave to friends.
July 29, 2012 at 2:59 pm
It is the fisherman pants, very popular in South East Asia… Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand… They cost around $10, you may get it for less…

Provided with a retro army soldier feel from the clothes and hair.
July 15, 2012 at 9:55 am
This is so interesting. Almost from a time long passed.
July 15, 2012 at 9:58 am
He looks like he just woke up.
Capture the Streets
I absolutely love this. He looks like a turn-of-the-century Bavarian farm boy.
July 15, 2012 at 10:10 am
Wow – He’s a male Tilda Swinton!
July 15, 2012 at 10:11 am
I love it. Great style
July 15, 2012 at 10:13 am
Totally cool photo. Love the outfit with bare feet :D
July 15, 2012 at 10:25 am
I love easy summer clothes. And somehow he looks manly in it :)
July 15, 2012 at 10:29 am

What’s Tilda Swinton doing in Motauk?
July 15, 2012 at 10:59 am
Has a very retro vibe.
July 15, 2012 at 11:12 am
He looks like Tilda Swinton! :)
July 15, 2012 at 11:16 am

July 15, 2012 at 11:39 am
He reminds me of Tilda Swinton! I would love to go to Montauk someday but in the meantime, keep sending this photos.
So easy go breezy. Fun!
July 15, 2012 at 11:47 am
Oh ! That reminds me Mr Ingalls from the Little House On The Prairie.
July 15, 2012 at 11:50 am
It’s kind of wild&manly but at the same stylish & fashionable…
Montauk seems quite the “it” place now. Recently spent a summer very near by. I totally understand the attraction, the feeling is light years from the city.
Btw, he certainly has a look going on…hesitant at first but I like it. The hair’s cool, the pants are crazy cool, gold necklace, bare feet–I’m feeling it all.
July 15, 2012 at 11:55 am
Love his hair style! he looks like a soldier but dress as a farm man! he totally have something!
July 15, 2012 at 11:57 am
So cool. It’s sort of farmhand chic, right down to the hair and the skin freckled from the sun. Makes me think of Steinbeck and the dustbowl of the 30s.
July 15, 2012 at 12:15 pm
and why is the one pant leg shorter than the other?
July 15, 2012 at 12:16 pm
He is really beautiful, but probably married already! Great shot. Nice colors, and he’s got a lovely hair and cool style. I like this very much!
July 15, 2012 at 12:18 pm
You mught think he just grabbed into his cupboard but I think he has real style, especially as he seems to pose so natural and cool picture! Http://madrilicious.com
July 15, 2012 at 12:30 pm
I love this look, the easy way the pants are tied, the bare feet, the wet hair. It looks so beachy.
July 15, 2012 at 12:45 pm
So very different! It looks like you found him in a field rather than the street, but I really really love it! The pants look so unbelievable comfy and his shirt is rolled up with the perfect amount of casual.
July 15, 2012 at 12:56 pm
Put this in sepia tone, scuff it up a bit, and it could be a Depression-era photo!
Very cool…I have something like those pants at home which I made myself from a beautiful indigo fabric…and they’re perfect for summer. I like the way he still manages to look both edgy and relaxed….

July 15, 2012 at 1:18 pm
Great hair!!… wonder if he dyes it?
Really love the colour :D
He sort of reminds me of a peasant boy from another time period. An early settler perhaps. I think it’s the pants, with the tie, that make me think that.
July 15, 2012 at 1:28 pm
Things that are fashion is everywhere.
July 15, 2012 at 2:10 pm
His hair looks like Tilda Swinton, but I love his bravery for rocking that awesome look!
July 15, 2012 at 2:48 pm
it is like an old picture but is colored!great picture!http://msfashionstreet.blogspot.com/
July 15, 2012 at 2:55 pm
Beautiful composition. For aspiring photographers who ask Scott for his “trick”…this picture is a tutorial in how to mix and match colors ( skin and hair tone with the ground, the green background color blocking the brown pants, the shirt matching the sky, and the color pop of that netting) to create an aesthetically pleasing photograph. Our eyes love harmony in colors; there’s no trick in utilizing this, just a good deal of studying…and some talent.
July 15, 2012 at 3:35 pm
Excellent. Can’t understand why the left leg is shorter unless he hitched up the trouser.
July 15, 2012 at 3:36 pm
Tell us more about his pants, please. Love ‘em! I want a pair this summer. Great picture.
July 15, 2012 at 3:42 pm

July 15, 2012 at 6:31 pm
They look like Thai fisherman pants or a version of them. Love!
July 15, 2012 at 6:33 pm
This looks very very Austrian.
July 15, 2012 at 7:20 pm
The pants are a version of Thai fisherman pants. An easy DIY sewing project!
July 15, 2012 at 7:47 pm
Stunning. A timeless Lawrence of Arabia meets Jackson Pollock castaway .
July 15, 2012 at 9:07 pm
Great look – pants remind of Thai fishermen’s pants, very comfy.
July 15, 2012 at 10:11 pm
I really like this look, but not liking the uneven pant leg. Looks effortless, in a good way.
July 15, 2012 at 11:12 pm
I love his pants. Love the photo, but most of all I love his coloring. Its so exotic. And, barefoot guys look sexy. Where is he exactly? And how do I get there?
July 15, 2012 at 11:15 pm
@ Murphy; Thats a genius observation. he does look like Tilda Swinton, who I always thought would make a great looking guy, even though she is a great looking lady, apparently correctly.
July 16, 2012 at 2:29 am
Waoooh a thaï fisher pant ! So comfortable !
July 16, 2012 at 3:02 am
He looks to be a nice guy.

Love from Greece!
July 16, 2012 at 10:40 am
Wow! This photo is a testament that one should travel and get out of their environment to see and meet men like this. Not to forget the amazing composition of the photo too. Love this one Scott. Why do you insist on making it so hard to pick a handful of my favorites photos you shoot in a month? Oy!
July 16, 2012 at 10:42 am
This is such an arresting photo that I keep coming back to it.
I’m sure now the reason being is how ‘otherworld’ the subject looks; his coarse linen pants, the amazing hair, his pure kinetic energy and of course his ‘pointy’ ears.
Proof of Fae?
July 16, 2012 at 10:43 am
I have a pair of those Thai fisherman’s pants too, so comfortable in the summer!
July 16, 2012 at 10:53 am

July 16, 2012 at 1:42 pm
Glowing skin and hair: great lighting. Great proportions: wide shoulders, narrow waist, long neck and limbs.
Hope he wears sunblock!
July 16, 2012 at 2:27 pm
One pant leg being longer than the other is too droll, and something no serious peasant would tolerate–or, in this case, afford.

My thoughts exactly.
July 16, 2012 at 6:00 pm
Very comfy, casual look. For some reason, the more I look at it, after the initial ‘oh his trouser legs are uneven’ moment, I really appreciate the belt and the way that shirt fits him.

Cool, pants feel very strange, but very fashionable to wear.
July 18, 2012 at 12:56 pm
Never seen one wear this Thai-pants style this fashionable. I own several pairs, even sewn some myself but I have never look so fashionable him.
July 18, 2012 at 6:17 pm
The hair and the pants looks trendy but i think shoeless is too much, he looks like a homeless.
