… silky pajama suit? Love it!
July 18, 2012 at 4:06 pm
From the bed to the street… lliteally!
I think it’s a bit too much, but then again, Italian men seem to be able to pull anything off
July 18, 2012 at 4:09 pm
Nice pyjama outfit! It looks good with the white shirt underneath!
July 18, 2012 at 4:10 pm
Is that my friend Jim Streacker? In his pj’s?
July 20, 2012 at 11:10 am
No, Simone Marchetti.
July 18, 2012 at 4:12 pm

I love his suit, the print is so cute!!!!
July 18, 2012 at 4:29 pm
July 18, 2012 at 4:33 pm
Definitely NOT my understanding of chic… Pyjamas over white shirt is a good catch though.
July 19, 2012 at 3:38 am
I tottally agree.
July 18, 2012 at 4:35 pm
That’s a Prada PJ innit? Nice contrast to the white shirt.
The crisp white shirt and the pop of colour with the green notebook(?) really completes this look. The print on the pyjama suit is also very striking.
July 19, 2012 at 7:20 am
When i saw this picture I also noticed this nice green notebook. But it seems you overtook me. So I totally agree with your comment.
July 18, 2012 at 4:39 pm
This outfit is too ‘matchy’ for my liking. Nonetheless, as usual, good shot
July 18, 2012 at 4:40 pm
Such a fun suit! He looks like he’s straight out of the 50s — maybe pjs from that time?
I love it!
The Bespoke Dudes
July 18, 2012 at 4:43 pm
Simone Marchetti. bold and stylish!
July 18, 2012 at 4:45 pm
Being a very photogenic guy helps pull this off. Check out the chick in the bg steeling a pic of Scott at work.
July 18, 2012 at 4:52 pm
The print of the suit is fantastic!

I dunno about that print, but its good for his complexion I GUESS.
The optical are boss, though.
July 18, 2012 at 5:20 pm
…is that Garance in the background?
July 18, 2012 at 5:21 pm
What an incredible suit! I love the print and the 70s vibe to it.
July 18, 2012 at 5:22 pm
July 18, 2012 at 5:26 pm
Somebody in the background photographing him, too.
July 18, 2012 at 5:28 pm
What an amazing suit. Love patterned suits (and you don’t even know how glad I am that my boyfriend does, too!)
July 18, 2012 at 5:30 pm
Had to look again…its the attitude and glasses that give the idea that it’s perfectly normal..a silky pj suit. fantastic pattern by the way.
July 18, 2012 at 5:33 pm
Pijama Style!!! love the suit!!!
the blue horn
July 18, 2012 at 5:41 pm
Rolled up PJ sleeves revealing crisp cuffs and cufflinks. Amazing! The whole look somehow seems futuristic and it´s a great shot too.
July 18, 2012 at 5:42 pm
Love that print!!!
July 18, 2012 at 5:47 pm
I love prints… And on a suit? Simply magnificent!
July 18, 2012 at 5:50 pm
Looks like straight off the Prada runway. Not my favorite.
July 18, 2012 at 5:51 pm
i love his suit! what a great pattern!
July 18, 2012 at 6:12 pm
sleepy chic, love how he did the head to toe pj look!
July 18, 2012 at 6:18 pm
July 18, 2012 at 6:25 pm
I’m picturing him meeting up with somebody in a checked suit for a game of impromptu tic-tac-toe.
July 18, 2012 at 6:33 pm
Love the pajama wear!!
July 18, 2012 at 6:47 pm
A pyjama suit worn on a crisp white shirt ? It takes a very confident man to do it and he didn’t forget his cufflinks !
I wonder who the photographer in the back is ?
July 18, 2012 at 7:00 pm
What a bold suit! I love bright and bold pieces that stand out =)
July 18, 2012 at 7:04 pm
July 18, 2012 at 7:47 pm
suit is so awesome. love it
July 18, 2012 at 7:54 pm
pajama suits should go the way of the 80′s shoulder pads
July 18, 2012 at 7:56 pm

the Chinese Pajamas-On-The-Street turned Fashion look. nice!
July 18, 2012 at 8:12 pm
Amazing combo. Pj’s like suit with cuffed shirt. Amazing oxymoron! or is it?
July 18, 2012 at 8:18 pm
Black rim spectacles try to save the day again. Black rim glasses are not verification that the wearer has style, merely a last ditch effort to save this piece. Not a fan of the cloth but I do like his haircut.
July 18, 2012 at 8:20 pm
TOO much pattern, Pick one, CHOOSE a printed Top or Bottom, add in a solid, then the look would be fine.
July 18, 2012 at 8:31 pm
Love Simone Marchetti!!! Very charming.
July 18, 2012 at 8:43 pm
Love it!! Totally into matching pop coloured prints! Awesome look.

July 18, 2012 at 8:48 pm
Great photo! I wish that I could look that crisp and well styled in my ACTUAL pajamas!

He is on the phone arranging the food and drinks for the pyjama party that he is about to host .
July 18, 2012 at 9:19 pm
Milan is so ahead with the time!! Soon everyone will be wearing pyjama’s publicly!! I’m a huge fan of matching outfits!! Great shot!!
July 18, 2012 at 9:44 pm
HAHAHAHAH…..woaw…love the insanity of the Milanese fashion victims. freakishly sexy.
July 18, 2012 at 10:30 pm
Oh my! This is pajama dressing at its very best! X
July 18, 2012 at 10:35 pm
Love that pattern. The colors are so elegant.
July 18, 2012 at 10:43 pm
Absolutely Not. He looks like a walking necktie. Unless he is grocery shopping, that is under-dressed. Nice scale on the print, though. I would wear it around my neck.
July 18, 2012 at 10:44 pm
full attire pajama suit. definitely would separate the two to give contrast….
July 18, 2012 at 11:12 pm
about people, fashion and street life…
I Can’t be the first one to say:
July 18, 2012 at 11:27 pm
not for the timid. that’s a mean foulard going on there & along with the bright green book:
“LOOK AT ME.”
for me, it does not matter how high the temp is, man or woman, I wouldn’t wear pajamas. this is not even loungewear. these are pajamas.
it’s interesting to see who falls for trends. trends are tricks & gimicks in the first place!
July 19, 2012 at 12:23 am
Taking the bedside manner to the street. Genius!
July 19, 2012 at 12:47 am
This is a very nice artistic picture, but the look is ridiculas. The foulard pajamas are great looking. The joke is on us here. This person is intentionally try to get your attention, and it worked. You can have the most beautiful clothes but if you do not know how to wear them, it doesn’t matter how beutiful the clothes are.
July 19, 2012 at 2:07 am
Halo, where is pyjama party?
July 19, 2012 at 2:13 am
Love this pict! so stylish!
July 19, 2012 at 2:33 am
Looks like a well dressed Mads Mikkelsen!
Simone Marchetti got this sense of style which is so him. Love it.
July 19, 2012 at 2:40 am
Well if he´d wear only one piece okay but this is definitely
too much pajama.
July 19, 2012 at 2:52 am
July 19, 2012 at 3:26 am
This completely reminds me of some stuff I see in the bay!
July 19, 2012 at 3:32 am
Hihi, that is me in 1985 when i was walking the streets of Paris in my fahters PJ’s!
July 19, 2012 at 3:37 am
Excellent print! Men in Milan really do know how to dress!
July 19, 2012 at 4:32 am
nice and beautiful
July 19, 2012 at 4:38 am
No NO NO…I agree totally with Lisa O…it´s not that I´m against innovation or newness but this is design without imagination, they´re just pyjamas. Of course it grabs attention, but so would walking around in your underpants….
July 19, 2012 at 4:42 am
What a show men in pajamas, but also in skirt… http://trescic.wordpress.com/2012/02/20/urban-kilt/
I don’t know if I could wear something like this. It looks good but it’d be akward… I don’t know!
As usual, nice photo! :-)
July 19, 2012 at 4:49 am
pajama x shirt. nice mix & match. lol…
July 19, 2012 at 5:13 am
coco was right, is all about style, not fashion
it’s definitely a no
July 19, 2012 at 5:37 am
Awesome stuff, I wish i had that outfit. The glasses are the icing on the cake . The patterned prints remind me of stuff from Nigeria
This is Belgium
July 19, 2012 at 5:47 am
so not like …
July 19, 2012 at 5:57 am
Pretty cool suit!
Shopaholic in London
July 19, 2012 at 6:27 am
Wow, brave guy to wear PJs outside ;-)
July 19, 2012 at 6:30 am
Oy. Fashion Victim…
July 19, 2012 at 6:32 am
Pajama office? printing of patterned silk makes it perfect :-)
The photo is great as usual but the look!!! terrible. What was he doing in Piazza Affari thefinance heart in Milan? when fashion exceeds the limit, it becomes ridiculous.
July 19, 2012 at 6:48 am
It’s unusual and I know it’s currently fashionable to wear a ‘pyjama suit’ but …………. just can’t imagine ever being taken seriously in this get up! I think pyjamas are best kept for beach holidays, etc etc even when your’re a fashionable Milanese!
July 19, 2012 at 7:45 am
Actually, I hate it. There is a very thin line between being fashionable and “forward” and being ridiculous. In this case it has been crossed. Simply OTT…
July 19, 2012 at 7:59 am
The suit is awesome!
July 19, 2012 at 8:13 am
someone’s lost the north
July 19, 2012 at 9:04 am
“Can you hear now” is the inspiration for all the new collections next year ;)
July 19, 2012 at 9:18 am
It might be unconventional but is just ridiculus
July 19, 2012 at 9:39 am
“Hi, this is Jim. Just calling to let you know that I’ll be late to work. I just realized I’m still wearing my PJs.”
Nice print though. Almost got pants with a similar print at J. Crew.
July 19, 2012 at 11:48 am
Hahahah. This is a very funny comment.
The photo is great, as usual, but the outfit – not so much. I am not a fan of the PJ look.
July 19, 2012 at 9:48 am
i wish i had a suit like that
July 19, 2012 at 10:01 am
NO! My husband is so well dressed, even his pyjamas are v. nice. So if he wore these to bed I should be well pleased, but if he turned up at the restaurant like this, I would blush for his sake.
I would guess this fellow doesn’t have a wife.
July 19, 2012 at 3:24 pm
Or at least not one that thinks like you. I would be very pleased to be seen with someone that dresses so daringly and still looks every inch a gentleman.
July 20, 2012 at 8:48 am
à chacun son goût. Best to marry a man with whom you have something in common.
July 22, 2012 at 2:59 am
July 19, 2012 at 10:36 am
and his duds are simultaneously hilarious and fabulous.
July 19, 2012 at 11:10 am
Maybe he just returned from China where pajamas are quite common on the street…. but in Milan!!! Come on…. it’s just plain silly!! This is someone that really needs to attract attention to himself.
July 19, 2012 at 12:28 pm
great pajama look!
July 19, 2012 at 12:31 pm
Brilliant. He is definitely pulling it off. He looks stylish, and quite dignified.
July 23, 2012 at 2:00 pm
Completely disagree. Clownish perhaps, stylish- no.
July 19, 2012 at 1:25 pm
original. It looks like a pajama on a white shirt
July 19, 2012 at 1:35 pm
As always a man who has nerve and a sense of humor gets strung up by the b*lls. Yes, these are pajama inspired. If I am not wrong they are Prada? So I don’t think they are literally pajamas. I suspect he works in fashion and has taken steps to make it appropriate(the shirt, cufflinks, glasses, neat hair). To the person who said ‘he probably doesn’t have a wife”, that is insulting because he might and she could applaud his brave/madcap sense of style. Sure you could have gone routine by pairing either top or bottom with a solid and it still would have been great but it is nice to see the gutsy few who say, “this is for me and if you don’t like it? Look the other way.” Hooray!
July 19, 2012 at 1:40 pm
again you cut off the house slippers, i’m sure they were stylish
July 19, 2012 at 2:01 pm
Ain’t no way for me to love you…
July 19, 2012 at 2:30 pm
July 19, 2012 at 3:44 pm
This is something my husband would probably never wear but I think it’s BRILLIANT! LOVE IT!!! Great shot!
July 19, 2012 at 4:00 pm
I wouldn’t even wear this in bed in case there would be a burglar. So embarrassing.
Greetings from Amsterdam.
July 19, 2012 at 4:03 pm
No. Plain and simple.
July 19, 2012 at 4:28 pm
July 19, 2012 at 5:46 pm
Silly and trying too hard.
July 19, 2012 at 5:49 pm
Oh my goodness, I have never seen anything like that. Men in one piece outfits are not an everyday sight. not only that, but the pattern is bold and colourful. I love it.
July 19, 2012 at 5:54 pm
Sorry. It looks like a pajama to me. Don’t like it.
July 19, 2012 at 6:24 pm
so unexpectedly weird
July 19, 2012 at 6:26 pm
so unexpectedly awkward
July 19, 2012 at 6:58 pm
Divine!! I love the total look
July 19, 2012 at 7:02 pm
Magnificent! I love the total look.
July 19, 2012 at 8:11 pm
nice suit!!! i always ask me how do you do to find so stylish people
July 19, 2012 at 8:50 pm
July 20, 2012 at 2:11 am
Urghhh…What’s that? Style. Not. Mayne a joke.. .
July 20, 2012 at 6:26 am
Cute when schoolkids were doing it. Just looks absurd on him.
July 20, 2012 at 11:46 am
I’m really not liking the outfit. It’s too literal. It’s kind of fashion victim-y. Just because it’s Prada (I think) doesn’t make it automatically hip and cool. I know the photo was taken because Sartorialist photographs many kinds of people’s styles and representations of fashion so I can appreciate that.
July 20, 2012 at 3:34 pm
He’s good looking enough to already be a head-turner, but more importantly he has a real talent for geting REALLY noticed in affable and amusing ways.
July 20, 2012 at 5:39 pm
Wow. Honestly, the sheer confidence that this man is exuding wearing this outfit is inspiring
July 20, 2012 at 11:04 pm
STOP! HAMMER TIME!
Annie of Hobart
July 21, 2012 at 12:54 am
The colours in the print are so deliciously vivid.
July 21, 2012 at 10:11 am
I rember him in front of Justice Palace in Affari square, there was Ferragamo’s shows.
Congratultion this picture is wonderful! You are great!
July 21, 2012 at 11:15 am
When I first saw the top of the photo, I loved it. As I scrolled down and saw the matching trousers, I thought, “nooooooo….”
I love busy patterns, but not always from head to toe. It does look too pajama-y and not in the good way. I’d love to see the top paired with navy dress pants or dark denims, and the bottom paired with the crisp white shirt he’s already wearing.
July 21, 2012 at 9:15 pm
Discovered a similar pattern, which I will have tailored into a men’s scarf..thank you Sartorialist!
July 21, 2012 at 9:30 pm
I must say, I do not have the confidence to wear such spectacular attire but after seeing him wear it I now do! Please wear can I find this?
July 22, 2012 at 4:36 am
Sleepwalkers are so weird. Why did this dude put on cufflinks and then his pyjamas?
July 22, 2012 at 9:36 am
Jeeeeezzz…! I see people leaving home in their PJ’s everyday, and I find it ridiculous… Totally nonsense
At least this one does onot really look like a PJ; rather resembles some of the AW2012/13 jacquard suits created by Muiccia Prada for her ladies line.
July 22, 2012 at 1:56 pm
ridicolo!!!!! troppo ridicolo! aiuto!!!!!
July 22, 2012 at 2:00 pm
Looks like a “onesy”
victor john penner
July 23, 2012 at 12:25 pm
PJ’s in the street – people do that in Essex at the supermarket. He’d fit right in! ; )
July 23, 2012 at 3:56 pm
Nice suit :)But hungarian men never wear this style :( My simple green taffeta suit is too much for them….
July 23, 2012 at 6:57 pm
Mmmmm… Scott,I’m afraid you’re becoming too modern for me.
That could be nice for evening at home, but never as a business suit.
July 23, 2012 at 9:30 pm
@Tina, Inez and Laura: I thought exactly the same thing and, as Inez says, Italian men can pull any outfit. great photo!
July 23, 2012 at 11:45 pm
Crazybold. Nice to read a few chic-noses out of joint over this one…!
July 24, 2012 at 1:56 pm
As always, great shot. Horrible fashion sense, though.
July 24, 2012 at 3:15 pm
I don’t like pijama for men, expecially during the day, expecially while working and it seems to me the outfit doesn’t have style, Milan is always fighting between relaxed style and working one, bye, bye Mara.
July 24, 2012 at 7:27 pm
If I had PJ’s that stylish I would wear them outside as well. No I wouldn’t I lie.
July 25, 2012 at 5:00 am
July 25, 2012 at 6:52 am
I think that this handsome man can wear whatever he wants. Sometimes it’s more the person than the dress. :)
July 25, 2012 at 12:26 pm
Amazing man! But he would look even better with a moustache!
August 1, 2012 at 11:07 am
Is he wearing Jammie’s? Whatever floats your boat…
August 7, 2012 at 5:37 am
Not in love with the suit but he can sure carry it off; helps that he’s Italian (and therefore effortlessly good looking)!
August 7, 2012 at 7:23 pm
there’s a limit to everything, and this is it ;)
August 21, 2012 at 12:24 pm
If it was just the silky top over the white shirt with say, jeans it would be good but not too keen on the matchy pants with it. Definitely looks like pajamas.
November 30, 2012 at 7:59 am
