Glorious stride. I want to shop with her.

Love those pants, love the simple shoes…and it’s so nice to see open backs – sexy without being vulgar!
Lovely summery urban look!

“My God, it’s full of stars.”
June 7, 2012 at 9:06 am
Her outfit is so cool! I love the proportions: tiny top and super large pants!
June 7, 2012 at 9:10 am
Ok so not a fan of the outfit, but very much a fan of her daringness. Also, this blurred street behind really makes me dream of New York. Somehow very escapist for a little londoner like me.
June 7, 2012 at 9:27 am
So relaxed and laid back, I love it!

Ok, I know this is a quite serious streetstyle blog, that everyone comments on style, proportions, textures and that it has an amazing phtographs. But I have to say this: the first thing I thought when I saw this particular picture was “Tiiiiiiiininini-tiniiii-ni-Can’t touch this!”
Yeah, MC Hammer! Anyway, your pictures always remind me of music. I don’t know why, but they do. And I love it.

June 7, 2012 at 9:58 am
Her trousers are incredible! I really love how she has combined the volume of the trousers with the simple fit of her top. She manages to look stylish rather than clownish.

THIS is now my new favorite Sartorialist pic. And will be for some time to come. Yes, stride-wise, she walks like a New Yorker.

This pic makes me think of Carrie Bradshaw in the early days of Sex and the City!!! <3
June 7, 2012 at 10:51 am
Interesting style and yes, she is 1) confident and 2) doing her own thing instead of following the crowd. I like that ideology and her wild and hair!

Those trousers are so cool!
June 7, 2012 at 12:35 pm
I remember these tops from the late 90s/early 2000s! Always up for a good revival, and I couldn’t really wear them at 13-ish anyway. I’m old enough now!
June 7, 2012 at 12:41 pm
June 7, 2012 at 12:49 pm
What a great outfit, totally love the scrap of fabric top with the huge pants.
June 7, 2012 at 12:59 pm
Simply put – beautiful. It’s like I want to walk with her and chat in a Cafe.
June 7, 2012 at 1:05 pm
Halter tops! I haven’t seen these since the ’70′s. And those baggy pants. I had a pair like these in the ’70′s as well. They were wonderful. She looks tops.
June 7, 2012 at 1:15 pm
all that is lacking is a splash of color.
June 7, 2012 at 1:16 pm
Personally, I would have kept riding. But that’s just me! Shows my lack of imagination.

Love that pic!
June 7, 2012 at 1:36 pm
These are like balloon pants. Happy, happy pants and I love them.
I have done little street fashion, because the rains won’t stop in Vancouver. I have to come here for global inspirations.
June 7, 2012 at 1:46 pm
Love her look! Girls wear tiny tops and show skin in a much more elegant way than they do in LA. Looking forward to my trip to New York next month. Always get inspired by NYC women!
June 7, 2012 at 1:57 pm
Love the trousers’ effect.

I love the whole outfit -those trousers paired with a fuller top would look just wrong.
June 7, 2012 at 4:20 pm
I am so moved by all of the wonderful comments people make on your site. It is true..Your photos are so masterfully done..but what touches me most are the lovely and positive responses to the everyday, real faces and clothing of people on the street all over the world. Hardly, do I read a negative comment. When there is so much criticism and low self-image in this world, it is such a breath of hope to read that beauty is all around and in so many forms. Thank You..Appreciation and kindness should always be in style.

I was going to make a comment about her cool little choli top. Then I read Monsieur Marcel’s Johansen re-write… nothing I can say would top that.
June 8, 2012 at 12:47 am
Oh my gosh this is incredible! I want enormous pants like these!
June 8, 2012 at 12:54 am
Can we say Carrie Bradshaw
June 8, 2012 at 1:32 am
well…not a fan of the “look” at all, I think it’s terrible in fact, but what really stands out to me is her terrible posture. Mind you I do love her beauriful red hair and she seems to have an oddly serene look on her face. The image as whole is quite pleasing too…as usual!
June 8, 2012 at 2:08 am
I’ll have what she’s having!

June 8, 2012 at 9:22 am
Love the billowy pants , the whole look is fun and so summery, but I’m just ” up the sreet ” in Boston and it’s not nearly warm enough for so little clothing. Just saying, she must be freezing !
June 8, 2012 at 10:04 am
The huge pants with the lessthannothing top… Sigh. VERY nice.
June 8, 2012 at 10:32 am
Fun!!! I can imagine how pleasant it was to slip on something so simple to compose and wear and so interesting to look at. She looks so fresh and effortless and carefree, and so chic at the same time. And bravo to dress sense that betrays a sense of humor. People are so graceful when they don’t take themselves too seriously. That’s real confidence right there.
June 8, 2012 at 10:45 am
One hing is to have style and other is to harve nervs and still go outside as if you were still on bed, my God she looks sick, the pants are nice..but they require style and glamour to be worn properly, not every person who looks “unique ” in the streets is because the got style

@une chatte grise, merci…because of Scott’s great work, some comments just seem to write themselves…btw, I was fortunate to be at the New York Dolls show at the South Street Seaport a few years ago….Johansen/Sylvain–ageless rock- n-rollers.

June 15, 2012 at 4:38 pm
Like everyone said: very 90s. It would be too soon if it wasn’t so modern in every way it wasn’t nostalgic.
June 20, 2012 at 6:01 pm
now those are some crazy assed pants
July 25, 2012 at 11:47 pm
I admire women daring to wear unflattering clothes (unflattering, as in “does not make one sexy”).
Am a bit jaleous, too.
