Dear me – LOVE that necklace.

This hair style looks amazing on curvy girls!

Beautiful light, she looks stunning.
May 18, 2012 at 10:24 am
The side-shave has been back for a while, but it’s interesting how it hasn’t gone the way other other fads. It seems to have picked up steam, actually.
May 18, 2012 at 10:25 am
C’est incroyable comme cette photo peut être interpellante ! Incroyable !
May 18, 2012 at 10:29 am
Beautiful moody shot. I don’t understand, though, why a woman with such beautiful long hair would want to shave the sideburns off..It’s like pairing the barren desert with the lushness of a full-grown California forest, I guess….
May 18, 2012 at 10:31 am
Perfect lighting. Simply beautiful.
She looks like a modern version of a flamish painting.
May 18, 2012 at 10:42 am
very interesting…are we sure it is a woman? there is something distinctly masculine about her right profile (facing the camera) completely independent of her alternative hairstyle- even more interesting given the upcoming release of Chloë Sevigny’s Hit & Miss.

this looks great! love it (:
May 18, 2012 at 11:13 am
Raw, honest and beautiful!
May 18, 2012 at 11:18 am
sometimes I think the shaved thing works on people but in this case it looks like she has a wig falling off of a shaved head – maybe it’s just the angle, or her expression….sorry, not my fave.

I know her. She is cesca and a superbly talented singer
Great photography work.
May 18, 2012 at 11:57 am
This hairstyle is very fashionable these days.
May 18, 2012 at 12:01 pm
Hey look, it’s Skrillex!
May 18, 2012 at 12:28 pm
I like her face and the light…but that is basically it. Everything else looks crap.
May 18, 2012 at 12:30 pm
Great photo – very dramatic. She looks like a modern-day Carmen..
May 18, 2012 at 12:39 pm
love the use of the light!
May 18, 2012 at 1:19 pm
I love this look, the blouse coming off the shoulder, the hair cut, the way her lips are parted but not smiling. Of course she’s a singer, what else?
The shot is great and sorry, I hate undercuts – I think they deface people… Then again, maybe it was her intention to look tough and masculine, which again doesn’t correspond with the flirty neckline.
May 18, 2012 at 1:21 pm
@Lintmag – that’s exactly what I was thinking, it does look like a wig falling off a rather pretty boy’s shaved head…not working unfortunately…
May 18, 2012 at 1:22 pm
A little dose of androgyny is a bit cool and interesting. Too much of it as it is here makes me really uncomfortable.

Absolutely stunning – a modern gypsy princess
May 18, 2012 at 2:19 pm
OMG. I can believe she shaved her long hair…. :) But great picture!
May 18, 2012 at 2:50 pm
Love the chiaroscuro effect.
May 18, 2012 at 3:08 pm
Although it’s in color, there’s a Mapplethorpe sensibility to this portrait.
May 18, 2012 at 3:52 pm
Spectacular looking woman and a spectacular shot. Modern day Mona Lisa.

alice dellal, rihanna, skrillex…. this seems to be a very popular haircut
May 18, 2012 at 4:50 pm
I’ve been “reading” this blog for years, and have never before felt compelled to comment. But this is gorgeous. As someone with very long hair myself, I appreciate how this woman isn’t hiding behind it as so many tend to do. My favorite part of this portrait, though, are her eyes. They convey so much. Stunning. Thank you, Scott, for showing us so many different kinds of beauty.

Extraordinary capture! Excentric haircut!

Ah! So many different words for “beauty.” The dress is so daisies-n-cream, but she wears it like a warrior. What marvelous contrasts.
May 19, 2012 at 4:38 am
What a amazing picture. It shows a lot of emotions. Nice necklace!
Well job, like always.

Only an idiot or a blind person would think it was difficult to tell that this is TOTALLY A FEMALE. I like the way the blouse is falling off the shoulder. Very sensual. Her expression and her lips are very striking too.
May 21, 2012 at 5:41 am
Some people say – photo can capture one’s soul. This may not be far from the truth looking at this one.
May 21, 2012 at 9:51 am
I also think she has a masculine looking face…which is emphasized by the shaved hair. I’ve never understood the under-shave – it never looks attractive to me. Just my opinion, of course!
May 21, 2012 at 7:08 pm
great picture; light; woman; posture; it has it all.
May 22, 2012 at 3:54 pm
I can’t stop looking at this one. The hair paired with that dress and her soft expression is such an awesome contrast.
May 24, 2012 at 4:27 pm
This is a really really lovely shot. The lighting is just fantastic. Hugs from Belgium.
