The side-shave has been back for a while, but it’s interesting how it hasn’t gone the way other other fads. It seems to have picked up steam, actually. http://lordashbury.com
Beautiful moody shot. I don’t understand, though, why a woman with such beautiful long hair would want to shave the sideburns off..It’s like pairing the barren desert with the lushness of a full-grown California forest, I guess….
very interesting…are we sure it is a woman? there is something distinctly masculine about her right profile (facing the camera) completely independent of her alternative hairstyle- even more interesting given the upcoming release of Chloë Sevigny’s Hit & Miss.
sometimes I think the shaved thing works on people but in this case it looks like she has a wig falling off of a shaved head – maybe it’s just the angle, or her expression….sorry, not my fave.
The shot is great and sorry, I hate undercuts – I think they deface people… Then again, maybe it was her intention to look tough and masculine, which again doesn’t correspond with the flirty neckline.
I’ve been “reading” this blog for years, and have never before felt compelled to comment. But this is gorgeous. As someone with very long hair myself, I appreciate how this woman isn’t hiding behind it as so many tend to do. My favorite part of this portrait, though, are her eyes. They convey so much. Stunning. Thank you, Scott, for showing us so many different kinds of beauty.
Only an idiot or a blind person would think it was difficult to tell that this is TOTALLY A FEMALE. I like the way the blouse is falling off the shoulder. Very sensual. Her expression and her lips are very striking too.
I also think she has a masculine looking face…which is emphasized by the shaved hair. I’ve never understood the under-shave – it never looks attractive to me. Just my opinion, of course!
