This gentleman is a tangerine dream! :)
Love his look.
I was just at the Met website, looking at the discussion you’re going to be part of tonight. I so wish I lived in NYC and could attend this – I’m sure it’ll be great! :)
May 15, 2012 at 5:23 pm
yes what a striking photo…the orange against the white and the tan says summer! i like the trainer socks too!
May 15, 2012 at 5:26 pm
So dapper yet breezy casual! Love it!

What a awesome outfit! This mister has totally taste. Awesome orange blazer. <3 Adidas are nice shoes, though out of experience I know that cconverse are just heavenly shoes to walk in. <3
May 15, 2012 at 5:31 pm
let’s be orange !
May 15, 2012 at 5:32 pm
sweet orange blazer!
May 15, 2012 at 5:34 pm
Wow, he looks brilliant, such impeccable use of colour, I’m more of a converse fan too, but, he pulls them off effortlessly.
May 15, 2012 at 5:40 pm
White and orange is a winner. WITH Adidas!
May 15, 2012 at 5:41 pm
What first came to my mind when I saw this picture was me wearing a high-waisted A-line mini skirt in this beautiful orange fabric, on a beautiful London summer day. Love how inspiration comes from sometimes unexpected sources.

So nice to see this picture! Few days ago I was writing about total white look with bright elements. And his tennis shoes are so to match!
May 15, 2012 at 5:55 pm
I think this look may be relevant this year, and the year after, etc. The Adidas tennis shoes give the look playfulness, or in other words saying ” don’t take me too seriously” while looking dashing and classy.
May 15, 2012 at 6:02 pm
i have seen him before…..he resembles Patrick Demarchelier
May 15, 2012 at 6:03 pm
Yes! Love this-the orange jacket with the all white-and even the perfect cuff in the pants. So good! Converse are definitely great, but they have their place. I think they can take a look like this and make it seem more casual, less sophisticated-more sophomoric. Plus, I love the retro look of these Adidas. Nice choice.
May 15, 2012 at 6:10 pm
He looks so impeccable, love the white canvas of this outfit!!!!

How fantastic he looks in orange ! We just said goodbye to summer and today was Hello to Autumn with chilly days and cold nights , if we move back to NY in the next couple of months, I will have 2 summers this year :)
May 15, 2012 at 6:39 pm
He looks like an old school dandy! :)))
May 15, 2012 at 6:42 pm
Love the orange jacket ! So fresh and classic.
May 15, 2012 at 7:01 pm
Yes! It’s all about the adi.

Love the orange. I’m trying to find a nail polish that color – so far best I’ve found is Essie’s Meet Me at Sunset… which I think I’ll wear to my sister’s graduation.
Sorry for the train of thought there. But you helped me make a decision! :D
May 15, 2012 at 8:47 pm
Ah, no, that would not be a wise switch!
May 15, 2012 at 8:56 pm
LOVE the color of this jacket!
May 15, 2012 at 9:22 pm
Loving his easy breezy look.
May 15, 2012 at 10:23 pm
Love the white with the orange blazer (very dutch ;-) )!
May 15, 2012 at 10:31 pm
Such a great combination! Very European and very casually elegant too! Easily replicated scheme for a woman too!
May 15, 2012 at 11:06 pm
A movie star!
May 15, 2012 at 11:20 pm
É muito LEGAL, eu gosto.
May 15, 2012 at 11:28 pm
His style is very close to what I suggest on my site. But sorry Adidas, he should be wearing white canvas Converse Jack Purcells…. Jacket is awesome. I like pocket squares even with sneakers.
May 15, 2012 at 11:40 pm
I love that he’s wearing Adidas with this look. Totally plays on the “casualness” of his outfit!
May 15, 2012 at 11:49 pm
Its like a Persil advert he looks so fresh !

Stunning look! Definitely the inspiration!!!

Yes, Adidas is the brand I choose when it comes to sport clothes. They just make beautiful products.

What an elegant man… He’s probably just as comfortable in black tie….
May 16, 2012 at 2:12 am
He’s really stylish!
May 16, 2012 at 2:42 am
Orange jacket, that ‘s the way to go!
May 16, 2012 at 2:49 am
What a great jacket!
May 16, 2012 at 2:57 am
Try Adidas ‘Ile Nastase’ – perfect!
May 16, 2012 at 4:37 am
OK, I’m not a fan of white pants and I really hate orange for clothes, BUT I have to admit – this looks pretty cool!
May 16, 2012 at 4:41 am
He looks fantastic – a burst of light. However stick with converse please.
May 16, 2012 at 4:45 am
May 16, 2012 at 5:15 am
Love this look, the jacket looks amazing.
As for the sneakers, I’m also a converse kind of guy… but I think a nice pair of a suede loafers in a coffee brown, would completely make this look.
May 16, 2012 at 5:26 am
Very elegant and natural man, the orange jacket is the best choice here! I love his hankie, it is so man-chic!
May 16, 2012 at 6:19 am
Very, very nice.

Love the orange.
May 16, 2012 at 7:18 am
From the ankles up, that is a fantastic summer ensemble. Those trainers, with ankle socks, are a no-no for me
May 16, 2012 at 7:25 am
Adidas sneakers and orange, yet so refined. Perfectly summer.

May 16, 2012 at 8:56 am
Love this man’s look. He’s really used color to his best advantage. But Converse Jack Purcells would be better.
May 16, 2012 at 9:02 am
The all white look just doesn’t cut it for me and the orange is too much. More layers and more colours. + these adidas tennis pumps are far too sporty
May 16, 2012 at 9:10 am
this reminds me of Wimbledon! :)
May 16, 2012 at 9:18 am
Was caught in front of my closet not knowing what to start the summer style with. Can’t wait to see your female inspiration photo!
May 16, 2012 at 9:21 am
I love him, he must be an italian fan of Julio Iglesias; there is only one problem, tennis shoes with ankle socks, NEVER, NUNCA JAMÁS
May 16, 2012 at 9:49 am
Nice but these shoes are not designed for tennis, only for running :-)
May 16, 2012 at 10:06 am
This gent is on top of his game, sartorially. He’s even matched the Adidas stripes to his hair…panache. No, if he wears white Converse, like the ones you sported when we met at Danzinger last week, he would look too pedestrian and lose that patrician air; without the jacket on, he’d look like a milkman or a house painter.
May 16, 2012 at 10:15 am
Like everything except his sport shoes…
May 16, 2012 at 10:17 am
This is rad in so many ways!
May 16, 2012 at 10:25 am
Absolutely cool gent. Want to grow up dressing like him: simple, unconventional, good choice of colors… so stylish…

adidas all the way, i recommend any variation of the rod lavers…these summer versions are really nice…
May 16, 2012 at 11:09 am
Tough advice from my grandpa..
Never trust a man in white trousers unless he’s your doctor or painter..
Never trust a man in red trousers
CULT OF PERSONALITY
May 16, 2012 at 11:18 am
DONT SWITCH NO NO NO TO ADIDAS!! I mean as a track shoe ok but as a summer shoe??? too hot!! CONVERSE all the way or if yr really tired of it maybe SUPERGA !! super cute italian and in a mutitude of colors.
May 16, 2012 at 11:26 am
Sport socks are very popular in Italy with men. I don’t mind the Adidas but Jack Purcell’s would look better, I guess. Doesn’t matter, I think this guy always looks great!
May 16, 2012 at 11:31 am
He is one of those men who can wear anything and still look elegant.
He must be italian……
May 16, 2012 at 12:09 pm
Love the whole thing!! So fresh!
May 16, 2012 at 12:49 pm
he looks so cool! love his sporty chic!

LOVE the orange blazer! He carries it off completely! The Addidas work for me too -great shot! I love summer!
May 16, 2012 at 2:25 pm
So refreshing, cool and smooth, love it!!
May 16, 2012 at 2:42 pm
Very suave! Love the look!
So elegant and handsome! He looks really good for his age!

May 16, 2012 at 3:06 pm
Sporty but very classy!
May 16, 2012 at 3:12 pm
Those are no tennis shoes. One would break his ankles playing tennis in those.
May 16, 2012 at 3:42 pm
Wow,I thought for a second that it was Mr.Patrick D.!
really cool jacket, that guy is rockin it
May 16, 2012 at 4:35 pm
take a look if you want!! My outfits and my directives!
May 16, 2012 at 5:21 pm
put some socks on.. please !!!!
May 16, 2012 at 6:03 pm
Doeas he have a wife? A sister? Again I have to wonder… Why the women in The Sartorialist’s world never seem to reach this age. Do they wear cloaks of invisibility?
May 16, 2012 at 6:29 pm
I love the tangerine blazer with a pair of comfy kicks. Such a nice looking gentleman. ~CBeauty..
May 16, 2012 at 9:14 pm
May 16, 2012 at 11:32 pm
Why would you want to wear anything else?
May 17, 2012 at 1:46 am
Such a stylish man! I love the white and orange on him. He pulls it off so effortlessly.
May 17, 2012 at 7:27 am
i prefer a style where you don’t have to keep your jacket on to keep from looking like the milkman or swim referee or pediatrist.
May 17, 2012 at 10:19 am
He is so sexy!!
May 17, 2012 at 7:37 pm
Love the Tangerine blazer!
May 18, 2012 at 4:56 am
This is fressssssssh, a wonderfully conceived outfit and the box fresh addidas, perfect!
May 18, 2012 at 7:21 am
white and orange is a great combination but the “fantasmini” (short socks) for men are awful.
May 18, 2012 at 7:50 am
yes, fresh with adidas. sophisticated casual look. makes me want to know what he thinks about certain things…
May 18, 2012 at 8:41 pm
I certainly would NOT make the switch from Converse to those awful Adidas sneakers – they are horrible. And look at those silly little round coloured golf plugs that are in the heel. In the UK the type of guys that wear these sneakers are what Americans call ‘trailer trash.’
This guy always looks stylish – and he looks great in this photo – but those sneakers ruin his whole look.
May 18, 2012 at 9:29 pm
Converse are tired. Adidas are fresh.
May 19, 2012 at 11:04 pm
Love to see the fresh white fashion that looks so good over the summer months.
For the coolest summer outfit wear white and it also looks great at the beach.
May 20, 2012 at 12:22 am
I normally don’t like bright jackets, but this guy looks awesome.
May 20, 2012 at 5:52 am
We’ve seen this gent before, I think. I like everything except the white trainers – some vintage white canvas brogues would finish the look.
As a middle age man in search of style I’m not sure I’d be brave enough to wear white trainers except in the gym!
May 20, 2012 at 6:07 am
Try with adidas Stan Smith… and without socks.
May 20, 2012 at 5:08 pm
The shoes make the outfit. If he had on anything different, even like old school adidas, I would hate it. But with those shoes he looks perfect!!!!
David Lee Smith
May 20, 2012 at 6:18 pm
Well he certainly got the jacket color right! IMO shoes… hmm
May 21, 2012 at 3:22 am
Very good! But I´m still thinking about the socks. Should he, or not?
May 22, 2012 at 1:32 pm
As a fan of orange, I love this outfit. Tennis shoes are a nice touch, though I am a Nike man myself.
May 22, 2012 at 3:56 pm
Do so many of the fashion-conscious people commenting on this photo actually think the tennis shoes further the look?? It’s a sophisticated play of color and texture, complete with pocket square, and then it’s as if he got tired by the time he reached the shoes end of his closet and gave up. I loved this look until I saw his feet.
May 25, 2012 at 10:58 pm
I keep trying to see this from another angle and I simply can not. Love everything but the style of the Adidas. They scream all sporty comfort instead of comfortable style. I would love the look if the shoe were canvas? And as far as Converse go, I’ve grown out of them as well. I see the classic look in them but I guess I prefer other canvas sneakers these days.
May 25, 2012 at 11:18 pm
He should’ve gone with Nizza Low in white:
Adidas L.A are for jeans or shorts.
May 26, 2012 at 12:11 pm
I love his outer!!! Orange!
May 28, 2012 at 3:10 pm
This are NOT Tennis shoes, these are running shoes why does nobody care? How can you talk about a outfit if you don´t even know what you are talking about? By the way tennis shoes would have looked much better on this man.
May 29, 2012 at 7:02 pm
Nice orange touch
May 30, 2012 at 12:57 pm
Love the whole thing…beautiful color
June 1, 2012 at 8:41 am
Everything perfect, I love, Adidas least those that destroy the whole.
June 2, 2012 at 10:37 am
Fire! luv it, luv it…..
June 2, 2012 at 6:18 pm
Boris: Call them whatever you like. The point is they ruin an otherwise stunning outfit.
June 4, 2012 at 12:33 pm
Yeah, Scott. This one of your classics. I reckon you used it some one year ago and… this gent looks impressive, but I’d use plain white or orange trainers. That blue doesn’t fit, I think.
August 2, 2012 at 5:39 am
Everything perfect but the hidden socks……. don’t work!
January 3, 2014 at 11:53 am
These are the retro running adidas L.A. Trainer sneakers. The look would better fit with adidas Stan Smith which are pure retro tennis style.
