The pic is fantastic. She is really beautiful and her dress looks stylish.
I love your post, Scott. Kind regards!

She looks like the Houston St. girl. I like the leggings.

Cool! A bit weird, but cool. Her face is beautiful. I’d quite like to grab a coffee with her and have a nice conversation.

Love the dark brown leather jacket with the floral skirt/dress!
May 9, 2012 at 9:08 am
The point is? She’s wearing bedroom slippers. More Paris, less NYC.
Love that leather jacket.
Intrigued by what look like Bunny slippers?? :)

So cute look in such a cute New York street…
May 9, 2012 at 9:12 am
Beautiful photo, love her skirt!
May 9, 2012 at 9:19 am
I envy that you have a lens to take amazing shots like these!
May 9, 2012 at 9:22 am
I don’t see style in this photo, only a proud teenager..
She reminds me of dega’s little dancer.
May 9, 2012 at 9:26 am
love her confidence!

May 9, 2012 at 9:33 am

Love the style.
May 9, 2012 at 9:39 am
she looks very cool (:
May 9, 2012 at 9:40 am
Eclectic cuteness. :)
May 9, 2012 at 9:45 am
Not sure what you tried to say with this photo – house slippers outside the house…not really a fashion statement. The jacket looks nice on her.
May 9, 2012 at 9:53 am
Are those slippers?
May 9, 2012 at 9:57 am
Love the skirt.
May 9, 2012 at 10:07 am
May 9, 2012 at 10:16 am
She looks as if she’s just running out to the deli, and then back into the house. But the patterned top and the leggings are wonderful!
May 9, 2012 at 10:17 am
cute urban look!
May 9, 2012 at 10:18 am
Love how the mustardy/olive leggings and warm brown leather jacket become almost cool tones when paired with that bright print.
May 9, 2012 at 10:25 am
Looks like she has her PJ’s and slippers on covered with the leather jacket. Another girl caught running out for morning coffee before she’s dressed ? Why ?
May 9, 2012 at 10:26 am
A very strange and sloppy outfit. The leggings, shoes and socks remind me of an old lady in a nursing home

Love the genuinity of the leather jacket with the everyday of the skirt/dress? and finish with slippers. She has the confidence of herself. #success
May 9, 2012 at 10:43 am
I love people who wear tights and socks…
May 9, 2012 at 10:45 am
This looks like a fall photo, you took this recently? I’m loving the browns…..
May 9, 2012 at 10:46 am
I was really loving the outfit until I came across those shoes/slippers…
May 9, 2012 at 10:51 am
The jacket is great, but this things at her feet – strange!
May 9, 2012 at 10:53 am
NICE LOOK AND AMAZING PICTURE!!!
May 9, 2012 at 11:15 am
The colour and print combo is fabulous.
May 9, 2012 at 11:19 am
There are things that you should only use in your private
kingdom, those bunny slippers are going to get dirty!
Carole (NY etc.)
May 9, 2012 at 11:20 am
OK I’m not the only one wondering about the slippers. But what I first saw in the photograph is the fantastic glow of her skin and the proud yet nice attitude. I think that makes her style whatever she is wearing.
May 9, 2012 at 11:21 am
That’s why Sartorialist is a different street style blog.
helps us to see what is not obvious!
May 9, 2012 at 11:24 am
The such fun shoes at girl! I like the combination of shoes, socks and tights (or leggings?) :)
May 9, 2012 at 11:26 am
love mosterd yellow :)
May 9, 2012 at 11:34 am
It’s all about her eyes and the dignity they bestow on any outfit (bunny slippers be damned!).
May 9, 2012 at 11:44 am
Leather jacket and shorts, perfect in spring! http://trescic.wordpress.com/2012/05/07/acchiappatutto/

love NY people!
May 9, 2012 at 12:23 pm
My 19 yr old daughter has worn this outfit! Like I said before, the young look good in just about anything. I love it.
May 9, 2012 at 12:26 pm
I´m surprised you all like the outfit… I can´t see the point of the look…. SLIPPERS??? color of the leggings? mmmmm I don´t know…
May 9, 2012 at 12:28 pm
No Slippers on the pavement.
May 9, 2012 at 12:42 pm
While it is good to see confidence in the young, I do not feel it is worthy to be put on your site. She lacks style or dare I say it – taste. On a truly positive note, this woman is very pretty and her face shows character.
May 9, 2012 at 12:46 pm
Olive skin reinterpreted!
May 9, 2012 at 12:49 pm
May 9, 2012 at 12:55 pm
tights in all colours rule!! esp. green!
May 9, 2012 at 12:56 pm
I don’t get this. She looks sloppy and unkempt. Is this style now?
May 9, 2012 at 1:01 pm
Only a girl like her can wear house shoes like this!
May 9, 2012 at 1:03 pm
Wearing slippers on the street? Nope!
May 9, 2012 at 1:11 pm
I don’t think this looks good at all… she’s beautiful but the dirty slippers, the leggings…. maybe people think it’s cool because she’s maybe 13 years old? Agree with Etrala, I don’t see the point of the look.
May 9, 2012 at 1:30 pm
I might not be a professional to judge. But I don’t like it at all. I just think that she looks like a person who put on the first things she found in her room. Sorry for the critics
May 9, 2012 at 2:02 pm
cute girl, something magic in her eyes…. but her outfit…????? Ugg bedroom slippers, not my choice…nor the skirt or the oversized jacket.
May 9, 2012 at 2:04 pm
Love the mustard tights with the floral print skirt!
May 9, 2012 at 2:06 pm
I wish I had the guts to leave the house in my slippers… I hope that this photo will set off a trend!

May 9, 2012 at 2:26 pm
I really like the jacket. It has character, and reminds me of World War II Bomber pilots
May 9, 2012 at 2:36 pm
Love her shoes!!! so cool
May 9, 2012 at 2:46 pm
I LOVE the look all together, but something about the fact that she is wearing slippers eeks me out a little. I guess I have this thing about wearing slippers outside (that one should not do it).
May 9, 2012 at 3:07 pm
At first glance, I was taken aback (after I have set and lived by high standards for myself while at the same time making mistakes inside & out as an imperfect human).
BUT then I remember the important thing, the ONLY important thing is that LOOKS DON’T MATTER.
May 9, 2012 at 3:08 pm
I love this – I love her expression. I can totally relate!
May 9, 2012 at 3:12 pm
She looks like she could be a younger sister of the girls on the cool new HBO show, “Girls.” Next generation.
May 9, 2012 at 3:20 pm
Uhm…. whAdda is thAt? Nono, not stylish at all! Disappointing choice of the day!
May 9, 2012 at 3:30 pm

This outfit is so spontaneous, that’s make it single (unique)
May 9, 2012 at 6:23 pm
This is a really great photo! I miss NY for all the fashion, food, and entertainment. I want to go back!
May 9, 2012 at 7:42 pm
Ugh–the slippers make me think of sloppy, lazy undergrads who don’t dress for class when they leave the dorm–if you work on a college campus there is nothing innovative or new apparent in this outfit.. Her youth and beauty make the outfit “charming” only in the sense that they’d make anything look good. This isn’t why I read your blog–I read it to see people who treat their body as a canvas, who take risks. This is just laziness.
May 9, 2012 at 8:04 pm

Are you being intentionally provocative? haha Another example where the person’s natural beauty and your photography skills outshine the sartorial strength.
May 9, 2012 at 10:05 pm
Flight jacket is cool. Otherwise this is a quirky albeit sloppy ensemble.
May 9, 2012 at 11:28 pm
trying a bit too hard to be odd. reminds me of many a rich
girl that I have known..or those at their first year of college.
May 9, 2012 at 11:54 pm
all about the ATTITUDE people. she doesn’t care what we think, she’s just rockin it. relax a little ya know, just take it in and let it go. this blog is not just about people looking perfectly put together all the time. duh!
May 10, 2012 at 12:50 am
Good lord, really? Cute girl but those slippers….
May 10, 2012 at 7:20 am

May 10, 2012 at 10:38 am
A very courageous combination! And what a strange shoes!! Is it fashionable in NY? ;-)
May 10, 2012 at 11:03 am
I don’t like this outfit, especially not the slippers.
May 10, 2012 at 11:39 am
This photograph is wonderful…you really captured the luminosity of her skin. Congratulations on your well-deserved award!
May 10, 2012 at 11:46 am
what about this is cute exactly?
May 10, 2012 at 12:41 pm

May 10, 2012 at 5:04 pm
I 1ove this. She 1ooks 1ike a character in a chi1dren’s book.
May 10, 2012 at 7:45 pm
I think those are Ugg slippers….??????
May 11, 2012 at 2:45 am
Beautiful skin and face. The jacket has it’s place. The lower half reminds me of a chicken.
May 11, 2012 at 4:30 am
This is no style for me at all
May 11, 2012 at 8:17 am
Shoes are horrible, sorry.
May 11, 2012 at 9:51 am
Yeah, not bad if you’re going for the Simpsons’ crazy cat lady look. Plus, the dirty slippers matched with brown socks and diarrhea-color tights, superb.
For a sec there, reading the first dozen comments, I thought I was the only one who didn’t adhere to this look at all…
I mean, come on, really?!
(hope my msg will be posted)
May 12, 2012 at 2:21 pm
No. I’m a middle school teacher. That’s the look now with the spoiled rich kids. It’s stupid. Don’t repeat it. Thanks.
May 12, 2012 at 9:28 pm
I am with the “no’s” – sorry slippers are just sloppy and she looks grimy. Not ironic, just bad.
May 13, 2012 at 2:07 am
I love it~

May 13, 2012 at 9:31 am
Miss K said “I wish I had the guts to leave the house in my slippers…” and she hopes this will start a trend. DEAR GODDD – NOOOOOOO! We already have the professionals walking to work in tennis shoes trend and the god-awful flip-flop and UGG “trend”. REAL SHOES, people – REAL shoes!!!
May 13, 2012 at 12:19 pm
Scott, since when is wearing slippers in public fashionable? In my book, NEVER!!!

Love the bunny slippers with softened brown biker tuffness.
Try cycling in slippers for even more attention!
May 14, 2012 at 8:07 pm
I love it when you push people’s buttons with your photos! So entertaining to witness people’s passion of footwear – wow, so many rules. Don’t listen to more Paris less NY. Love NY free and easy style. Always fun to guess the city after looking at the photo. I almost always get NY right. Thank you , your photos are beautiful.
May 14, 2012 at 11:18 pm
She is so cute. I love the bunny slippers – to me she is saying “I am grown up but I’m also still a little girl”. No, it is not the height of fashion but it is certainly the height of individualism. Thanks Scott.
May 14, 2012 at 11:37 pm
Of course, no!
May 16, 2012 at 2:31 am
River can wear what she wants on her feet
May 18, 2012 at 3:36 am
Hmmm if she were wearing different shoes, this would be superb. Or, even perhaps if she were indoors.
Tom in Boston
May 18, 2012 at 10:28 pm
She looks exactly like Summer Glau (hence someone’s comment on River), but this is exactly the type of photo that shows how sheepish the masses are, especially on here. Every photo is “amazing!”
This is a decent-looking girl in an absolutely terrible outfit. Bunny slippers?! Mustard tights? A Goodwill dress? An oversized, men’s leather bomber? It looks like she’s trying way, way too hard and it comes off as unkempt and lazy. She looks more homeless and less sartorial.
May 19, 2012 at 7:20 pm
Oh, please. Bedroom slippers on a fashion blog? Honestly this is a sloppy look. And is that her dinner napkin sticking out from under her jacket?
May 22, 2012 at 5:07 pm
Oh the uggs slipper!

May 25, 2012 at 4:19 am
the slippers rock my universe in this unconventional wardrobe ensemble
July 10, 2012 at 4:45 pm
This is g0d-awful. It looks like she rummaged through the trash bins to find her outfit. The only reason for the raves is because her photo was posted on this site. I bet everyone would snicker if she walked by wearing this.
August 22, 2012 at 2:43 pm
Slippers? Must be running out to get milk.
