Wow, what a face.
Look at the hair.
Look at those piercings!
My friends and I were just talking about “what do you do, when you no longer want to wear those those earrings?” What do you about the loose earlob?
Is it totally lame to ask this?
Anyway, gorgeous face, amazing skin.
The skin will go back to it’s original shape and size if the ears haven’t been stretched past the gauge size 00. It’s not a terrible, awful thing to have stretched lobes. Most people who do don’t WANT to take them out or remove them later because the smarties who do their research and who know what they are doing to their bodies, aren’t going to regret their choice and most people who chose modification never have an I “no longer want to wear those earrings” moment. Not a dumb question at all! Glad people are curious for info and insight. :)
All the piercings on this woman make her look so BADASS!!! I love how perfectly her eyebrows are done. Great picture!

wow! The piercings and eyebrows are so symmetricalwithe whole face and the glasses! I usually don’t prefer so many piercings but here i love them!Having this photo in black&white is even better and stronger !
Anyways just received your amazing and inspiring book as a birthday present! And want it to thank you for making it. I´ve been following your blog for a long time and I am really glad to have gotten a closer insight on your work and thoughts about your subjects and of course your great photography. I´m a Graphic Designer and recently picked up photography and really enjoying it.
I was wondering if you would mind telling about your equipment? I´m shooting on a 5D Mark II and just bought the 50mm 1.2.
Wow, no wonder this blog is number 1. Amazing styling and photography – quite phenomenal. I think the pic above would look amazing with one of these http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgZitDnC7EM

I love the b&w here, and especially the light. It’s a beautiful image. She’s a good looking woman, intimidating too, as I guess is partly the intention. To Natasha, who asked about the stretched lobes: I can’t help thinking of a friend who’s just had extensive plastic surgery to repair her ears after years of stretching her piercings. The surgeon did zigzag cuts into the holes and then stitched the lobes back together. A straight line of stitches gives a very visible scar. Very painful, and though she liked the piercings at first she regrets having them done now. The price you pay…. I guess people ruin their feet with shoes and need surgery. Not so different, though less visible.
Very current look. Somewhere in the mix of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Givenchy. Body modification is borderline appaling so…KUDOS to anyone who can make it look appealing!
Very beautiful girl, with or without piercings. But also great black and
white photo. I like the contrast between her soft skin and the ruff hair, jacket and Ray-Ban.
Well done !
interesting, i just noticed after taking a second look that her lip piercings and eye brow tattoos (pencil?) make a very strong cross (+) on her face…it’s very striking…seraphic and sinister at the same time.
It is indeed a very interesting B&W pic. The wayfarers are classic and -my, oh my- they do not suit every face in this fantastic way.
However, I can almost feel the pain of those piercings and this frustrates me. And what can one say on the ear thing? I see people on the street like this who are totally cool but I wonder how they are going to feel about their face when they are older.
And the funny part is that mostly stunningly beutiful people have such dramatical piercings. Do they feel they need to toughen and edge up their face and/or character by intervening on their image this way? Possibly.
I’m really torn about people with gauges. On one hand I think they look a little too tribal, but on the other hand…they’re pretty dang awesome :) But, in the end, she is one cool, expressive chick and very brave for pulling off this look.
I usually loathe piercings, but this woman is amazing! If I were the piercings type, this is what I would want to look like. She’s so totally badass but so feminine at the same time. Gosh, how I envy Parisian women!
