That is the most beautiful, and charming looking mime/naval look I’ve ever seen. Love the pouty look. :)
April 26, 2012 at 9:20 am
I adore stripes…and it’s obviously going to be a big trend this spring and summer. But it’s a big possibility that we humans may get striped to death this year…but I might as well get a striped tote like the woman in this photo just so my striped top goes with the stuff I’m toting around.
these proportions are crazy, and I kind of love it. plus the bag and the shirt together are so busy and good!
April 26, 2012 at 9:22 am
love all the mix of clothes, specially the socks and the sweater!

Le Marais is my favourite spot for shooting.
I love the patterns mixing and yellow accents.

Amazing outfit! Love the mustard bag
April 26, 2012 at 9:44 am
The Parisians manage to do it right everytime…!
April 26, 2012 at 9:45 am
Loving the combination of stripes and polka dots. I especially love how the yellow polka dot socks make such a huge different for the outfit!
The typical Parisian look ! Just beautiful !
April 26, 2012 at 9:46 am
Makes me wish I were still young enough to wear socks with sandles. Maybe….

Very chic …. I still can’t make up my mind if I like the bag with this shirt – does it clash? Or is it a clever way of accessorizing with the related patterns? I personally don’t like the socks, but I do appreciate the whimsy of them. Love the forest green fur boa!
I love the nonchalant way Parisians wear their scarves. I found another great way to wear long rectangular scarves http://bit.ly/JmuTq6
April 26, 2012 at 10:03 am
this is perfect.
April 26, 2012 at 10:04 am
wow, amazing!! Love how she mixed this long t-shirt with the skirt!
Am I totally screwed if I say that I hate socks with sandals? I find it as bad as UGGs! Ok, maybe worse…
But don’t take me wrong, I love 90% of your posts! The 10% excluded is the one with socks! :-)
April 26, 2012 at 10:05 am
Proportions…If she would v high waist skirt it could be so much better..but idea is ok..
April 26, 2012 at 10:06 am
Beautiful print clash!

All those stripes:

Love the mixing of patterns! The polka dot socks and striped shirt and bag are a perfect combination. Very comfy & cool!
Maybe you should try finding a few middle-aged women every once in a while. Or do you honestly never spot any fit for you blog? Now I don’t mean the fab women of your acquaintance who appear sometimes, but you know, ordinary smart-looking women. Not exactly any shortage of grizzled blokes here.

Love this photo. The stripes she is wearing are so French and the fact she matches the CENTURY 21 Realtors sign on the left is so Scott.
April 26, 2012 at 10:41 am
loving all the stripes
April 26, 2012 at 10:44 am
love those socks. the length of that skirt is perfect and the bag+ top combo works really well
April 26, 2012 at 10:49 am
The way she uses patterns of the sweater and socks is very creative. Basic colors also make the outfit different.
April 26, 2012 at 10:53 am
A graphic delight
Love the proportions and the mix of black & white, with playful yellow graphic print on the socks
The ensemble is like chic op-art
April 26, 2012 at 10:56 am
I love the mustard clutch. I think you can never go wrong with the classic striped shirt, too.
I love the match of the stripes between bag and shirt! And I love the other colors: yellow and dark green, so charming!
April 26, 2012 at 11:02 am
Adore the way the dress’ stripes clashes her bag!

Love this tongue in cheek take on french stripes, and with those socks and those shoes, it is just so perfect! That’s how you do mariniere!
April 26, 2012 at 11:19 am
Loving stripes right now! (Actually, loving stripes ALWAYS!) Been wearing them pretty often these past few days! Here’s two of the most recent takes:
They can be styled to look preppy, classic, or modern…truly versatile!
April 26, 2012 at 11:26 am
Absolutely love it! Love the overload of stripes – with the spotty socks and yellow clutch the outfit is so much more than just a french look!
April 26, 2012 at 11:30 am

Not something that I would have come up with but it works!
April 26, 2012 at 1:49 pm
fantastic outfit! i love these style breaks and the amazing colour and graphic mix.
April 26, 2012 at 1:56 pm
I love that skirt length. Can´t understand why some people say it´s “hard to wear”. It´s elegant and chic. As we would say in Sweden: parant. I´m so tired of all those middle-aged tired knees.
April 26, 2012 at 1:59 pm
Very parisian, very le marais.

I like her shoes. and I just noticed how the stripes of her bag meet the stripes of her top. Kinda Sprousean.
April 26, 2012 at 2:23 pm
Absolutely love this look
April 26, 2012 at 2:33 pm
Fresh take on classic geometrics! Cute. With these proportions, I think only certain body types (like hers) could pull it off. Great backdrop.
April 26, 2012 at 2:49 pm
Nice and quiet combination! Congrats!
April 26, 2012 at 2:50 pm
stripes strike….it’s good though!
April 26, 2012 at 2:53 pm
I love this look! So Parisian on top and then the socks throw it all off, but in a perfect way!

Said it before and I will say it again:
Your snaps of women in Paris are my absolute favorite…and I love love love their style!
April 26, 2012 at 5:58 pm
A talented fashionista indeed.
But have to say I endorse comment by Cruella above. All these young beautiful women who look like models … If this blog is about the sartorial, there are surely so many women you are just not seeing. Yet you have such an eye.
April 26, 2012 at 6:09 pm
I love the French style… they get me every time. This one is no different. She’s lovely and her style is great.
April 26, 2012 at 7:22 pm
She has a beautiful sense of self. Excellent.
April 26, 2012 at 8:39 pm
She looks great! I love the stripes and the subtle dots on the socks.
April 26, 2012 at 9:30 pm
I soooo covet that bag…is that a sin?
April 27, 2012 at 2:21 am
Stripes and dots ! She definitely thought about this
April 27, 2012 at 2:23 am
I really like this outfit!! The striped t-shirt and the triped bag, the socks with polka dots and the skirt!! I love everything!!
April 27, 2012 at 2:24 am
A terrific look. Can’t enough spots and stripes.
April 27, 2012 at 4:51 am
Terrific! I think I rather enjoy how all the stripes almost create an optical illusion.
April 27, 2012 at 5:15 am
Love the stripes and the polka dots!
April 27, 2012 at 8:46 am
Love the mix of stripes with the bag and top! :0
April 27, 2012 at 11:26 am
Agree w/Cruella. Is there absolutely nobody in NYC over the age of 50 who is photo-worthy? Bill Cunningham seems to find them.

I’m sorry, I hate this. These proportions are so wrong – her head looks so tiny. I hate the scarf around the neck so tight, the clashing stripes, the whole shape of it all. Her outfit is just not doing it for me, even though hypothetically I love stripes, black skirts, polka dots, fur and chunky sandals.
April 27, 2012 at 12:25 pm
polka dot vs stripes, great look!
April 27, 2012 at 12:58 pm
just out of Paris, and had at least there stripy pulls/sweatshirts with me, why did you catch me with ur camera? :) …joking
great look/pic, though it was very chilly those days in Paris,
April 27, 2012 at 1:06 pm

Her bag is spectacular but overwhelmed by her top…which does not allow the bag to come forward. Not perfect.
April 27, 2012 at 6:26 pm
sophistication in stripes
April 27, 2012 at 6:33 pm
great look with the stripes and the touches of yellow, geometry matching that severe hair and serious look, and thick black shoes.
wow, that’s expression!

I’m in love with those shoes!!! Where can I get them??????? Someone please tell me!
May 6, 2012 at 12:07 am
Simple yet absurdly elegant!
May 7, 2012 at 10:14 am
This lady has been really clever with the proportions of her clothes – whether purposeful or completely accidental. I’m struck by an illusion of her body being stretched out, and am not entirely sure If I feel comfortable with that! However, the simplicity of all the things she is wearing I think enables the stripes/spots/yellow/monochrome/fur unusual combination to be brought off wonderfully – not something many people could do.
July 6, 2012 at 3:31 pm
So beautiful. I love the setting of this shot. The background is soft and she kicks out nicely against it. She looks amazing. It must be so daunting asking people to take their photo in a foreign country. Respect. Wallace.

I want to learn how to read French so I can understand Vogue Paris and other French fashion blogs because of your site! I really love and want to study fashion in France because the ladies and gentlemen seem to have something that I am missing as an American.
