That outfit is sheer perfection! Love that ladylike blouse with the decidedly boyish boots and upturned jeans, and the LV bag is the icing on the cake!
Few years ago if a girl just dared to walk around Alphabet City with a LV bag she would have got a 100% chances of being mugged. Today, instead, you can see gorgeous girls like this one.
Great shot!
I love the contrast between light skin and the delicate tone of her blouse and red lipstick! The boots give that aggressive touch that never hurts but I admit that I probably would have preferred a nice pair of heels! Beatiful light and photo..:)
She’s an immigrant at the port of entry in NYC circa 1912. She is strong willed young woman who left her family behind for the opportunities that only America could give her. She wears pants made of denim like many men who wear them to work. Jeans were not fashionable. They were a necessity as money was scarce and long days of rough labor were ahead.
Her blonde hair is up in a discreet bun showing her Polish facial features. A bow around her neck and red lips the only sign of femininity and strength softening her defusing gaze.
Her luggage? None. Yet she bought a simple carry-on as she landed in NYC from vendors selling items collected from a recent wreckage. Which of course, they would make a movie from which would break sales records. A ship they said was unsinkable.
All the elements are there – nice blouse, nice jeans, scuzzy background, terrific light. But somehow she looks a mess. Just goes to show that carrying an expensive bit of luggage doesn’t wave a magic wand.
The girl travels light, but in style. Ensemble looks like a modern version of the Calvin Klein ads from the early 80′s starring Brooke Shields. Check them out on youtube…they’re rather amusing, if not a little cheesy!
I absolutely love this! The juxtaposition of styles – ladylike blouse and boyish jeans/boots – is perfect. And the bog LV bag is a real eye catcher with the otherwise simple outfit.
I love a good juxtaposition of elements, such as her delicate features and sheer blouse with the sturdy jeans and boot, capped with the designer bag. I love an outfit that, if you describe it to someone, sounds like a fashion faux pas, but when you see it in this lovely photo, it totally works.
Oops! Excuse the bad grammar of my first comment; should read, “may have waned”.
Also, the delicate, sheer fabric of the blouse contrasts nicely with the rigid jeans and rough boots; and makes the black bra a bold part of the ensemble.
Great outfit! The boots look like Red Wings–aka The Best Boots Ever–and the rolled sleeves & dark bra make the otherwise-fussy blouse work beautifully. The look is even cool enough to mostly offset that unpleasant bag, and that’s an accomplishment!
This blouse is amazing! Where would I be able to go to look at other styles similar to this? I found this blouse (http://amzn.to/HLblgD) and it’s kind of similar, but not nearly as sheer.
Those are some of the best-fitting jeans ever, damn her. Beauteous shot, btw. Looks like it could’ve been pulled from a glossy, oversized, european mag. Street Lovely
Some outfits tell stories and this is one of those. This girl got everything. I would love to have the mode d’emploi on how to roll your jeans over your bike boots this way.
I love the coquettish blouse contrasted with the rough-and-tumble boots! And the big LV is right on the money. I’ve been rolling up my pants, above boots like that, for years. Nice to see such a stylish person doing it too.
I love the way the pieces are all put together into this look. I wouldn’t think these items work well together but this girl definitely pulls the whole look off.
That is a very unflattering pair of jeans, but otherwise, the picture is very pretty. I sure hope my hips look better then that. It must be the jeans, because she is obviously slender.
I think I have seen jeans like that at Target. You can pretty much buy low rise stright jeans anywhere. But NO. I don’t think anyone could actually guess at where those jeans are made. They are just too common looking. Maybe Lucky brand. Maybe & for all Mankind. Something like that judging by her bag.
this look seems very masculine, even the top (rolled sleeves and the way the bow is tied resembles to the line of a tie) but is made feminine by the girl’s delicate features, the red lips and the beautiful hairstyle. i really like it…apart from the LV bag, a bit much for me but nevertheless it’s an inspiring outfit.
@ Luce, nicely said! Although I am pretty sure if she did any labour those pants would split down the backside. They look like she can’t even sit down! However, I absolutely agree about the very slavic features, intense stare, and lovely retro make up. She has that adventurous spirit.
I like this so much I forgive her the logo bag. So great to see someone stylish and beautiful in footwear enabling regular movement. I don’t normally like jeans turned up over boots but she has such long legs it works, lucky thing.
Love the mix. Romantic blouse with a tie band no less, and hard jeans and work boots. I wish the bag were not LVMH, cuz it looks like a stylist’s work. A nice generic would be perfect. But the photo and the girl are truly lovely.
Love the mix of romantic blouse with a tie band no less, and the hard jeans and great manly workboots. So cool. I prefer another handbag, lvmh is just everywhere and not pretty, just showy. But the girl and photo are fab!
She looks like a girl in the equestrian circuit trying to run away from home. I love how the someone gritty habitat is juxtaposed to her young and innocent look. But innocent girls don’t skulk around Avenue A with a weekend bag…(insert wink)

Love the mix. Romantic blouse with a tie band no less, and hard jeans and work boots. I wish the bag were not LVMH, cuz it looks like a stylist’s work. A nice generic would be perfect. But the photo and the girl are truly lovely.

She looks like a girl in the equestrian circuit trying to run away from home. I love how the someone gritty habitat is juxtaposed to her young and innocent look. But innocent girls don’t skulk around Avenue A with a weekend bag…(insert wink)
