A very school girl look! Wonderful shot!
such a cool outfit for a student:P
March 29, 2012 at 8:05 am
Great, great look. I love her school girl mix with Sporty Spice. And I like the two people and their individual pops of orange flanking her on each side.
March 29, 2012 at 8:06 am
I’m checking out the dapper gent in the orange knit pullover.
March 29, 2012 at 8:07 am
A beautiful shot which both captures the atmosphere of the street and the quirky style of the girl. Great! By the way it really seems to be all about ankle socks these days.
March 29, 2012 at 8:08 am
Such a wonderful picture, love how individual she is.
March 29, 2012 at 8:11 am
A cool undergrad, a famous fashion writer. a man in a rad orange sweater walking his dog..good morning NYC.
Love her cap! Great Look!
March 29, 2012 at 8:18 am
Love her college look, her face… so sweet!

March 29, 2012 at 8:25 am
Hey, that’s Lynn Yaeger, too.
March 29, 2012 at 8:29 am
love the notched collar on the jacket, and her clutch! the trucker hat makes me laugh :)
March 29, 2012 at 8:31 am
Don’t you see who is on the left side of this photo?
March 29, 2012 at 8:32 am
Who is the lady on the left ?
March 29, 2012 at 8:34 am
Very nice picture. I love the clutch.
March 29, 2012 at 8:36 am
love the layered schoolgirl look.
March 29, 2012 at 8:39 am
I think the red hair on the left (who is she? she looks so familiar) and the orange sweater on the right gives this picture a great balance.
The girl has some kind of school-girl-thing going on. Pretty, stylish, but not for grown-ups! Suits her, though.
I love NYC style!
great pics! love frappuccino !!!
the man to the right is the coolest thing about this shot, his jumper is great
March 29, 2012 at 8:46 am
Love the woman with the red hair and the older man in the orange jumper as much as the subject of the photo :)
March 29, 2012 at 8:52 am
oh, lynn is also in the pic!
March 29, 2012 at 8:54 am
Very cute, demure girl. I really can’t help but wish she would’ve ditched the ball cap in favour of something else…
March 29, 2012 at 8:59 am
I actually do not like this adult-as-school-girl look; the individual items are terrific and go together well; but I feel vaguely uncomfortable with a young adult mimicking a parochial school teenager.
March 29, 2012 at 9:01 am
I almost gave away all of my old baseball caps because I didn’t think they had a place in my wardrobe, but after seeing this post, I’ll reconsider.
March 29, 2012 at 9:02 am
I love this style. The coffe take-away is the perfect touch. The picture is fantastic.
Nice post, Scott. Kisses.

March 29, 2012 at 9:20 am
this pic makes me wanna study!
I can’t put my finger on why I like this, but I do. It could be the composition of the photo in general
March 29, 2012 at 9:22 am
Love it. A modern Alice in Wonderland.
March 29, 2012 at 9:23 am
Oh ! Look who’s on the left!
March 29, 2012 at 9:25 am
God I adore her. She’s the kind of person I want to be friends with (and steal all her clothes…)!

March 29, 2012 at 9:32 am
my favorite photo of yours in a very long time.
i love lynn yeager over there in the corner. it really speaks to the triumph of street style photography over mainstream magazine fashion.
you still got it, scott!
Woah, is that Lynn Yaeger at the back (left) ?
March 29, 2012 at 9:37 am
Whoa, is that Lynne Yaeger???
March 29, 2012 at 9:38 am
Fun mix of things in the outfit. The girl looks like a student.
March 29, 2012 at 9:39 am
March 29, 2012 at 9:41 am
My eye was also drawn to the gentleman on the right in orange! Okay seriously, I need to move to New York because clearly people dress up when they go out… sadly many do not in Adelaide, Australia!
March 29, 2012 at 9:53 am
Such mood in the picture! I’m swept away.
March 29, 2012 at 10:00 am
Love New York
Looks amazing :)
March 29, 2012 at 10:05 am
you have NYU and New School in that area – plenty of students.
March 29, 2012 at 10:11 am
the cap and socks make the whole outfit… so school!
March 29, 2012 at 10:17 am

Love her look. Mixing a cap, dress and leather shoes can be weird but this result is good here
March 29, 2012 at 10:52 am
I saw a model from elitecasting.co in the Spring show in New York modeling this coat. These coats are making a comeback this fall.

That odd pigeon-toed stance! Why do women do this? Do they think it makes them look demure or cute? It does not.
March 29, 2012 at 11:16 am
yay, Lynne Yaeger!
Cute girl–love her curly hair–my eye keeps going back to Lynn Yeager who is totally arresting!
March 29, 2012 at 11:26 am
I love the woman in black!
March 29, 2012 at 11:34 am
And I really liked the man with the dog on the right.
March 29, 2012 at 11:47 am
it’s like a fabulous sandwich and the fabulous part is on the left or the right sides of the frame. great, red,”stingy” page-boy haircut and delightful shot of a great sweater! both of those two people look like they have some great stories to share over a tea or dinner.

Funny how you got Robert DeNiro in the shot as well.

As always, a very telling photo.
One’s eye drifts left, however, to Lynn Yaeger. Readers note her red cropped bob…and I see her determined walk as she moves forward at a fast clip.
Lynn is a highly admired fashion/downtown/travel writer who is admired for her discovery of talents and places and fashion and style, often vintage and alternate and cool.
I wonder if…after you photographed the ‘student’ you were able to catch up with Lynn…or not.
March 29, 2012 at 2:38 pm
So cute! I takes me back to my teenage years and makes me want to relieve them. I adore how fun this look is!
March 29, 2012 at 2:48 pm
I think she might be Russian. There is something in that sight…
March 29, 2012 at 3:35 pm
Yes, the peripheral figures are the first thing one notices. And anybody wearing flats is terrific.
March 29, 2012 at 3:39 pm
The girl is tres cute but its Lynn Yeager’s look that draws me in, even in the background.
March 29, 2012 at 3:42 pm
love the wide angle shot here.
March 29, 2012 at 4:06 pm
March 29, 2012 at 4:11 pm
love the lady with the red hair!
I absolutely love the gentleman with the orange pullover and a dog!
March 29, 2012 at 4:32 pm
Cool shot but to not give a nod to Lynn Yaeger seems to me like a New York faux pas. She’s such an icon of downtown fashion. I wish that the different branches of the New York scene were able to mix better and have respect for one another.
March 29, 2012 at 4:40 pm
You seriously think he didn’t know it’s Lynn Yeager in the back?
March 29, 2012 at 4:55 pm
Ms Starbucks is as cute as a button!
They should comp her potables from now on.
The bruises on her legs distress me, though.
Wish I could prevent all of life’s bumps and bruises.
March 29, 2012 at 4:57 pm
Oh hi, Lynn Yaeger.

March 29, 2012 at 5:45 pm
I love her college style …. Starbucks coffee … I want a cup … Please!!!!
March 29, 2012 at 5:46 pm
Oh you got a two in one with this pic. I spy Lynn Yaeger. Lynn is the light in my dark heart. She makes me smile. A woman true to herself and her own look.
March 29, 2012 at 5:59 pm
great unique style
March 29, 2012 at 6:40 pm
Is this picture mostly about the style of the lady on the left with the red hair?
March 29, 2012 at 6:57 pm
I love this capture.
March 29, 2012 at 7:07 pm
Starbucks! Love it. For a second I thought it was like there was snow at the ground haha.

very lovely, nice oxfords and cap
March 31, 2012 at 12:20 am
How totally adorable. I like how she is standing. It so fits the outfit. That hat is just right here. its too bad more people don’t look that good in them. kAnd its funny to see Lynn in the background.
March 31, 2012 at 12:28 am
Scott has photographed Lynn Y three of four times at the very least. So he obviously has a liking for her. I doubt he was unaware, or that he was dismissing her. I am sure he chose to include Lynn and the stylish man with the cool dog both. And I am sure he chose to have them not be the main object, but an important element non the less.

Fashion journalist Lynn Yeager is in the photo (walking on the left) – is that coincidence? If so, then …full of awesome!
April 3, 2012 at 9:21 am
Do we know if the subject in the center knew Lynn Yaeger was behind her/walking past her?
