Great photo composition … the lighting … the edgy woman in the warm, inviting coat … the “Cheers” upper right … reflection of bike perfectly in the frame of the window … Ahhhh, nice job.
Funny, at first I thought everything looked too severe in this photo. However, the more I looked, I appreciate the tranquility and the simplicity of it all! Quite beautiful!
Kidding!..Seriously though, the painterly quality in this photograph is called chiarascuro, which was developed during the Renaissance. Click on my name for more details and an example.
Also, the young lady’s expression and sidelong glance is similar to that Madonna from the Annunciation painting…they’re even facing the same direction! No chiarascuro in that painting, however.
This is beautiful. Truly the most interesting portrait I have seen for a while.
JUXTOPOSITIONS: The hair-style with the soft face; the camel coat with the bright trainers; the bike in the interior; the cigarette, the street. Stunning.
I love her Vans! I always forget how cool the high tops are, i had them when I first got into skating. Her hair looks great too, a really nice laid back yet stylish look.
