Yes, there’s definitely a strong sense of spring here in the semi-bared legs. I really like the first look’s play on proportion and ger scarf is gorgeous.
Both are beautiful! The coat of the second girl is just lovely. Especially because in a city like New York even when late spring coats are always needed.
the words that come to mind when i view these photos are comfort and hope. not comfort in a settled way, but in more of a maternal way- comfort knowing the sun promises to ease in warmth and new found inspiations.
i find the look on these women’s faces beautiful, and their choice of clothing inspiring. they both look like they’re about to do something meaningful and creative.
What beautiful women! They both have a very classic look, and almost seem to be giving a knowing smirk to the coming Spring. Great taste, as well… love those coats.
The vintage appeal of these outfits is great, especially because it seems so unintentional. The beautiful dress in the second image I recognize as a Tucker by Gaby Basora print – timeless.
I love the showing-off of shin and ankle, respectively. It’s like a little window of skin – a little break from fabric. Plus, the way you shot the second photo, in terms of being just in a shadow to the side of the sunlight – it’s beautiful.
The light in the first picture is just so beautiful! There’s something about the proportions of the heavy jacket over rolled up pants that really appeals to me – normally I would tend to think it looks a bit half-dressed, but not so here….and that scarf is wonderful!
I love those pants and boots from the first picture! I’ve been wanting comfy, athletic type pants for a very long time now. I’ve noticed quite a few pictures of beige coats recently, a new fetish perhaps? Nice length on the first coat. Very interesting coat on the second girl too!
The joy of dressing for spring is nowhere greater than in Canada, where after a long and snowy winter we get to shed our layers. You need to come to Canada to see how we interpret style regardless of the season! Toronto, especially, which is equal parts New York and Europe!
I am so proud to be in the city of these two beautiful women. Here in NY there is such a vast amount of artistic aesthetic applied to the dress. I love it, no restrictions, just beauty. http://thebedfordstuyvesantdandy.wordpress.com/
Wow, I love the marigold-hue and florals bursting from the coat in the bottom shot. Gorgeous! I’ll be looking back to these just for fun and sheer amusement.
Yes absolutely, Toronto has great sense of style mixing the elements of both North American and European style! Some people say we dont have good style in Canada, and I have to completely disagree with them! I’d love to see pics like this taken from our street style to show the world what we’ve got!
I love these pictures- the colours and the easy almost peasant like style that one can see here- its beautiful!
The top shot has great light. It looks like late afternoon, with golden light and long shadows.
Which reminds me, a lot of the midday shots have burnt out highlights, which is a common enough problem. A polarizing filter could reduce reflections and glare, provide better contrast and more saturated colours.
Could be worth a shot if you have too shoot during the brightest hours of the day.

I love the stance of the first woman. And how she’s dealing with the transitional weather – some leg exposed, but a warm coat up top.
I adore the “van Gogh” sunflower coat in the second pic, but the floaty skirt underneath is too light for it. Not digging the shoes at all!
