This pictures makes me feel like it’s Fall. I’m actually writing an essay for Canadian Broadcasting about how nobody looks up anymore, they’re all looking at their iPhones and blackberries, but on closer inspection, I don’t see anything in his hands at all.
I do like the look – on the whole. But why oh why do these guys have to wear their jeans at half mast? Is that the look de rigeur these days? Girls, yes, ok … but guys?
What makes him stylish is…it’s him. I think that when you dress to please yourself and you get to know yourself, then you look stylish. Having “an eye” helps of course! But I can’t wear scruffy clothes (wish I could) cos I just don’t suit ‘em. Gotta have at least a smart jacket or I look a mess rather than casual chic. It’s like how not shaving is so cool here in the UK but only 50% tops of guys suit that look. The rest don’t suit it and ought to get that razor out NOW!
I think he looks stylish because of the “studied insouciance” (not to be too precious) of his look. Nothing is tucked in or tidy, but for the scarf being held in place by the messenger bag like a punctuation mark. Everything is of the same attitude, and that makes it not feel like a mess.
I have to be honest – I don’t get much out of this. His jacket is nice but overall he looks like he is going to fall apart. His sunglasses and hat are nice but I’m just distracted by the rest of his careless outfit. He looks like any other guy in the LES. But maybe his consistency is why you photographed him?
I like this. Seems to be a guy who just wants to be comfortable. But he also has a certain style. I imagined this same look on my husband and laughed. Not everyone could pull this off. I think his pink shoes probably used to be red when he first bought them. Also commend Natasha for writing about how nobody looks up anymore, always punching into a a phone or blackberry, oblivious to the world. Makes it dangerous out there.
This is me, from a year ago. I was a bit angry that my name was not published also…
But ce la vie! it is the street. Although As a fellow artist and musician, I would have liked my name linked. Hey that day was a bit messy, Comments were spot on I just know what I have and wear it, like these levi’s I found in brooklyn and are almost in shreds now. I get hooked on things! Ouch!
