He has style but he looks no happy….
Intense look. Did you tell him to make that face? :)

A very suave and charismatic look tinged with a hint of something sinister! Maybe it is the gloved hands, not sure but great look all the same!

The expression on this guys face & the look in his eyes tells a 1000′s stories… I love how a photograph can capture emotion…

He is cool!!
March 9, 2012 at 4:54 pm
Wow, the dark collar and glove make the leather of the bag handle incredibly rich. Love the well-loved look of the coat. Gorgeous.
March 9, 2012 at 4:55 pm
I particularly love his ensemble. Handsome and good looking to boot. What can I say about khaki and navy, especially in Firenze; you can’t go wrong. The accessories just finished his look beautifully.
March 9, 2012 at 4:58 pm
i love the way hes holding his bag
March 9, 2012 at 5:01 pm
Delightful simplicity: the crisp trench coat and shirt, the nice texture and shine added by the two kinds of leather with the gloves and bags, the perfectly slim tie. How I wish I was a man sometimes!

He does remind me of Tezuka Osamu, “the master of mighty manga”. Love it :)

What a dapper look, love the neutral colours.

I really want that coat!
Love the blog btw
March 9, 2012 at 8:23 pm
I love it! So classic. You can never go wrong with navy and khaki.
March 9, 2012 at 9:16 pm
Navy + khaki works well. Navy is cooler and khaki is warmer.
About his face: To me, his expression is neutral, thoughtful, inquisitive. Perhaps hesitant, but not unhappy. I’m perplexed by the comments that he should be happier or that he is making a face.
I’ve written some honest comments at The Sartorialist that weren’t published, perhaps because they were deemed insulting. But, to imply that someone is making a face (regarding a normal expression) is much worse!
Must we smile all the time else be deemed unhappy or odd?

This guy looks super cool. We’re in Hong Kong at the moment seeing a similar style.

i am the girl who asked you to take a photo of me rue sat-int honoré and you were nice to me! thanks a million!!!!!!! i am a huge fan!

That’s really cool to put this picture because navy and khaki both suits really well. It was the both color and outfits that Marines wore before !
March 10, 2012 at 3:24 am
He looks sad… but this gives him something that makes you ask yourself what is behind this look !!!
March 10, 2012 at 3:41 am
Love his face expression!

Love this color combination!
March 10, 2012 at 4:05 am
what is with the look? cute cappie
March 10, 2012 at 4:29 am
love the cap!!

What makes this photo interesting – style wise – is the details: the leather gloves and the handle of the bag. He knows how to wear his clothes to flatter his skin-tone. Other than that, what’s wrong with the sour-puss pause?

love the military style, and the gloves add some very sexy spice :-)

I was in NYC 2 weeks ago and I couldn’t help but wonder if you were on the street, taking pictures. :) It would have been nice to see you in action.

Such a timeless look! And that bag over the shoulder…just perfect!
March 10, 2012 at 4:06 pm
not huge on the hat, but the colors are classic, and the spread on that collar is great.
March 10, 2012 at 4:12 pm
LOVE the way he’s holding his bag- very stylish!
ps- is he single?
March 10, 2012 at 6:12 pm
I think without the cap, not too much special going on.

I love that he’s wearing the same gloves and cap in this shot:
for a completely different look. The perfect example of enduring style over fashion. He seems to love a sense of controlled drama in his look.
March 11, 2012 at 10:16 pm
Love how serious he looks!
March 12, 2012 at 12:17 am
I love the khaki and navy combination. It seems like navy is turnign up with almost every color this season; navy and yellow, navy and orange, navy and fushia, navy and coral…on and on. I never wore a lot of navy, but that has definitely CHANGED this season! Great photo.

So very very Charleston…should we ever have a winter again. We live for khaki and blue! After all, we are the home of Ben Silver and Company! Come see us!

You’ve photographed this man before, he is always so stylish. He must really love his blue gloves.
March 26, 2012 at 4:06 am
It seems you photograph this every time you go to Florence, this is at least the 3rd time I’ve seen him on your blog. You should get his name next time!

Yes here is the first time I noticed him on the blog: http://www.thesartorialist.com/photos/on-the-street-brown-orange-p-2-pitti-uomo/
