I really like the beige vest, it looks elegant and effortless. The extended shoulders give it some structure, which looks much nicer than the traditional vest style. Love love!
I prefer this trend for summer when you can wear jackets or tops like that with shorts, I think with boots and pants it will be too masculin.
that Marant top is really cute
Both completely different starting points but really love it. The pants and jacket by Isabel Marant are really cute and the skirt and jacket from Balmain really tough and love that to!
I like the Marant look, but to my eye, the Balmain vest seems clunky and awkward. As for the larger issue of styles with wider shoulders: I’m certainly no fan of shoulder pads (cue flashback of”Dynasty” theme music here), but I am always happy to see strength and confidence celebrated, and I’ll be delighted to see the end of the wispy-girlie concave-shouldered look.
Avoid this if you have a waist! I have a small hourglass figure, and these jackets would make me look 20 lb heavier. The fabrication is good, but the cut would suit only a few people.

Hmmmm, very 80′s. I would think you’d have to be very thin to pull this one off. Definitely not for me! (But it looks great on the runway.)

I certainly hope we won’t be seeing more shoulder pads. But the extended shoulder vest look here is cute–not at all football player-y.
