stunning total prints!

What a great collection.
February 23, 2012 at 8:16 pm
This is a very cool collection. It almost makes me want to skip summer and go straight to fall, but not quite :)
February 23, 2012 at 8:21 pm
Sorry, but this is not my favorite.
February 23, 2012 at 8:24 pm
2nd photo…what an awkward combination of a long coat with cropped pants (in a good way). The platform brogues also add to that weird length factor.
i love prada prints! thanks for posting such great pics

I wondered when the pantsuit was coming back. Long overdue for a revamp – such costume potential – great use of fabrics, not so sure about the choices of shape and cut. Too boxy, and a bit cliched.

Going gaga for Prada. I like all these brightly printed textiles. So gorgeous. Makes me wish I had picked more scarves and materials like this one I picked up in Indonesia: http://natashafatah.blogspot.com/2011/11/lombok-indonesia.html

The inspiration for the pantsuits: the airline uniforms from the 60′s designed by Emilio Pucci?

OMG im in love with the second pic!! That coat is awesome!
Stunning prints and very unusual shoes. Prada’s collections always take some time to digest and appreciate.
February 23, 2012 at 10:05 pm
Every one is doing the same designs!!!???!?!?!?!?!?!?
Long live Brocade!!
Do like some of the combo’s but the shoes and makeup ruin the great fabric along with the depressed look on the models…
February 23, 2012 at 10:16 pm
I love the printed suits! The tailoring is perfect.

I like no 6 and 7. I think the models make up made this collections awful. Those models look scary to me.
February 23, 2012 at 10:48 pm
Very iconic runway…will be interesting to see the looks translated in real life. Great photos…see my faves from London on my blog….
February 23, 2012 at 11:55 pm
As much as I adore the intricate patterns on the models, I am rather stunned by the purple and pop of orange going on in that backdrop. Seriously gorgeous.
February 24, 2012 at 12:00 am
The shoes, the shoes, the shoes!
And the suits giving smart a new new look. Love Prada!
February 24, 2012 at 12:17 am
Stylishly and succinctly!!!
We love the geometric prints.
February 24, 2012 at 12:29 am
Wow. I can’t even see the clothes. All I see is eyebrows. I realize that they are trying to make a statement, but the clothes should stand out while everything else fades into the background. It’s supposed to be a fashion show / fashion week. Save these models for an Ernie/Bert reunion show.

I think the looks are quite chic – austere and lush in turns.
February 24, 2012 at 1:20 am
Oh my God!. Les imprimés sont extra. thx for this beautiful pics.

Love Muccia. To me she is always inspiring, so intuituive…..and wearable, from 20 somethings to 80 somethings . Oh sure, we might mix up the shoe and certainly not have the catwalk look of models. It’s a catwalk, they are meant to look over the top. To me, no one does it as inventively wearable and timeless as Muccia. Fantastic!
great photos, Scott.
February 24, 2012 at 3:26 am
Harsh/curt/brutal/Edwardian-mod cuts of lush genius…the textures must be as rich as they look. The shoes are really insane, especially the first three “rubber-skirted(?)” contrast oxfords. Creating interest through wearing Prada is an under-understatement.

I simply love this one !

Great Great collection! I love those coats!

Love the collection!
February 24, 2012 at 4:17 am
Easily my favourite show of AW12, love how it started with plain blacks and ended with psychedelic print.
February 24, 2012 at 4:33 am
This is very 60′s inspired – the first look is remarkably clunky and awkward. Beautiful prints unfortunately presented – they look like they are for much older women. Photos 6 and 7 not so scary – no one under the age of 70 would wear 8, 9 or 10.
such pretty fabric!
February 24, 2012 at 5:17 am
Just incredible but a little bit disappointed because the Men’s show was back to the Empire clothing and I thought that Miuccia would be back with the women collection ! Where are the dresses and silk fantasies ?

Don’t like it at all!
February 24, 2012 at 11:33 am
the prints are wonderful, and the shoes.. out of this world! in love!!
February 24, 2012 at 11:39 am
Where do I get those lace-ups? They’re as fabulous as the collection!
February 24, 2012 at 11:45 am
Great photos as usual. The clothes? Sorry but this looks like polyester double knit stuff on the old Carole Burnett Show.
February 24, 2012 at 12:02 pm
I have a pair of black suede wedge Prada ankle booties with ruffles that I think are exquisite, so I am a Prada fan. The shoes in this collection are clunky and ugly, in complete contrast to the visually arresting prints.
I am in the minority (as always) as I am a fan of gender, so any kind of menswear collection not for men is a turn off for me no matter how well-crafted. I study and speak French and Italian for the delightful reason that in those languages, everything has a gender: a window is feminine, a boat is feminine, a tie is feminine, bread is masculine, a coat is masculine…..so the love of gender distinctions is ingrained in me.
February 24, 2012 at 12:14 pm
the second and third outfit are my fave ones. I like the sneaker-pumps especially those black and white.
February 24, 2012 at 12:47 pm
real heavy shoe wear! nice pattern, but reminds me of marni.. to be more precise marni for H&M collection pattern

I definitely like this collection. It’s very strong and that’s why I am a constant fan of Prada

Have a look at this Chloé style from 1970.
…..could be Prada this Fall……
Personally I prefer the Chloé version.

One of the most unexpected shows so far – not the Miuccia we’ve used to know!
This season is absolutely exciting to review: http://www.taniapoli.com

February 25, 2012 at 12:31 am
@ Marcel Da C–Yes! I was thinking the same thing.
Then I thought that while I get the concept, and the fabrics are pretty cool, these looks kind of end up looking like… sofas. With feet.
February 25, 2012 at 2:31 am
I simply love, love, love the shoes in every picture!
February 25, 2012 at 11:17 am
The bags are so neat and tidy.

Terminator 4, your wardrobe is ready.
February 25, 2012 at 5:18 pm
honestly what is wrong with you people (who liked it of course) – those were some of the ugliest brocades i have ever seen in my life, and silhouette – don’t even get me started
shoes, agreed, were cool – prada often gets that right, but clothing, good lord miuccia – if style.com happens to be right and this collection sets the direction for womenswear for the next few seasons, remind me to aim my magic plutot at the jersey crowd – because they’re gonna be more tastefully dressed, for once, than the good old nyc/paris/italy/anywhere reasonable to live crowd
February 25, 2012 at 5:23 pm
Love the clothes…stunning prints and colors. But why did they feel compelled to make beautiful women freakishly hard and harsh looking with such unappealing make up?
February 25, 2012 at 7:14 pm
Amazing Prints! love the collection ans coats!
love the carpet! i want it!

Oh, this makes me so uncomfortable! Not sure why. It’s so visually aggressive. Interesting, but it makes me so uneasy.
February 26, 2012 at 2:01 pm
WOW absolutely stunning!
February 27, 2012 at 12:38 am
I’m sorry, but I just can’t get past the makeup and hair- what are they trying to do to the models!?!?! They look so harsh and masculine…
February 28, 2012 at 4:32 pm
This is one of the best collections for Fall 2012.
In fact, it’s one of the best overall collections I’ve seen in quite some time.

If I don’t iterate it enough, my friend, the photos are absolutely stellar. These M. Prada collections however are uninspired and completely redundant, in my opinion anyway. Totally boring clothes, nothing much to draw from here for living a real life. (I get that that’s not the point of Couture, but I can’t even see an in with this Prada stuff lately).

Sorry, but a didn`t like.

Looks like they raided Armando Gurra’s prints closet. Love the looks. Wish they would hire him on. They have the daring it would take to give him wings in his designs.
