Wow..what I would have given to be at “Fashion Week” …This collection is so sturdy with warm hues and over-size structure, its reminds me of the 1940′s Prior to World War 1. A German, Parisian style couture , the working class woman inspired look… which was how they dressed in efforts to support the war.
The design of the oversize jackets and the narrow tailoring around the waist and the labor working style woman shoe. Just makes me think of the women back then that wanted to still show their status in society by wearing fur coats during a time of chaos…. only thing missing is a fedora. Michael Kors… Simply Fabulous!
The reasons I love Michael Kors’ collections so much are many but I can summarise them as follows.
His clothes are elegant, classy, up to date and yet so wearable. I could picture myself in each and every outfit. He is clearly one of the representatives of classic American style, which in itself is practical, elegant and a bit more down to Earth (thus more wearable) than European style, but moreover he has greatly worked towards its current undergoing evolution.
Thank you for the wondeful pictures! I don’t know if it’s the clothes or the light or your technique, or all of them together, but I can actually feel the lovely textures in my fingertips.
FABULOUS! Michael Kors is so talented and always want to wear his clothes (except that coat with 1000 tales dangling off it!). They seem to do a lot of fur in NYC – in London there is always a riot when it’s mentioned yet alone put on the runway.
The overall camel/brown shades aren’t my favorite, but I do really like the sparkly lace skirts and the last sequin dress with what looks like transparent trim is gorgeous.
Love the 30′s feel. Particularly like the delicate skirts with the scrumptious knit sweater and the cozy fur vest – the high low lace skirt is amazing (have to imagine the fur is fake!!)
I LOVE IT!! Especially the combination furs or knit +sparkles… awesome!!
We also presented our FW 12 collection last weekend in Pure London Show!!!
Maybe in some months we are at London Fashion Week…. :-)
Michael Kors was one of my favorites. More fur, and lush knits..can’t get much better than that except if you add the feathers. Check out some of my faves.
How is that beautiful? How is useless, wasteful killing of all those animals carelessly draped over a glitzy dress admirable or glamorous in any way? The collection was beautiful without it…I hope next time he has enough conviction in them to leave out the fur..
Such a distasteful display of animal suffering… Are we still in the Middle Age?
I love this blog, I wish you wouldn’t contribute with the marketing of such shameful practice…
I find the use of fur so tasteless and morally wrong. It ruins the entire collection for me. It says a lot about a designer who cannot compromise and give up fur. I dislike Michael Kors very much for his poor choice.
Thank you for all these strong voices against fur!!! I’m totally thrown off by it’s amount in the collection, otherwise gorgeous. You just cannot justify it today, with all the info available on where it comes from. The price is too high! People, please educate yourselves and stop this barbarian practice.
In Norway we have banned fur from our fashion week. In sweden it is forbidden to have fur farm. We do not only think of the welfare of all our citizens, thinking of animals rights is also very natural to us…
Oh, fur is so tired. I, like most of us here, understand fashion and it’s many forms, but a fur coat in 2012 is ignorant, and certainly has nothing to do with function.
