Hello.I like this picture. The dress nicely compliments the shiny hair the girl has.I personally would have chosen a blouse more chic and black shoes. The bag though matches the dress.

the shoes are great.
also? i didn’t realize how much i lookedhr forward to your photographs until you went missing for a couple of days…
May 29, 2007 at 9:21 am
I like that she chose green shoes instead of the more predictable black.

“Audrey Hepburn was pretty chic as the (before) bookish shop clerk and very chic in the (after) fashion muse.”
absolutely! and this lovely young lady seems like a great blend of the two. She mastered the downtown-book-clerk look with the uptown-chic look quite well.

i love when things dont match but instead they just go together or mesh well. this lady looks great without trying hard to.

It occurs to me, after looking at your recent European photos, that this is a very American look.
What I mean is: I’m so glad she didn’t try to match the color of her shoes to, say, her brooch.

This reminds me of the way I dress. Elegant and a little nerdy, but she has a cooler haircut which makes a big difference

she’s definitely a today audrey hepburn. love the shoes and love the blouse because it looks worn, and she looks effortlessly chic.
May 29, 2007 at 12:09 pm
Hey love the picture! And great to have you back :P hope everything is okay with you and your family, really. Just wanted to say how great it is that you´re back and tell you how much i love your blog. I mean you should know what a good job you´re doing!
May 29, 2007 at 12:25 pm
I think this is how people should do effortlessly chic. I like how she chose simple pieces and let the chic factor just emanate from the way she wears it.
May 29, 2007 at 12:28 pm
i second what misshoax said, welcome back and glad to hear that all’s better for you and yours.
i like the girl’s look. very feminine. it’s both grown-up and youthful.
May 29, 2007 at 12:40 pm
How do women pull off these slouchy & puffy looks? I just end up looking dumpy, and i’m not even that big…sigh. Anyway, she looks great. I love the top, and the green shoes are perfect. They pull the outfit into spring.
May 29, 2007 at 12:44 pm
I’m glad all is well, Sart. Looking forward to the beach shots from Roma.
I love this woman’s casual Euro chic– the look I love is that fine line between fabulous and dowdy. And yes, it is a fine line. This look is quite Prada, and just goes to show you can be casual and comfortable without sweats and trainers. I gree with Miss Hoax.

Yes, with the big shades and the flats, her look is reminiscent of Audrey. Beautiful and chic!
May 29, 2007 at 1:18 pm
i loooove that movie. i agree she was just as chic pre-makeover.
May 29, 2007 at 1:39 pm
I hope everything is better now with your family.
You were sorely missed!
I’m in agreement with anon 9:21. BIG fan of the unexpected!
May 29, 2007 at 2:26 pm
Funny Face: Saw it, adore it, have memorized it…and totally agree: this look combines Audrey’s bookish and chic sides in that film.
Luuuurve the green shoes.

Lovely to have you back! Her hair is very chic and the shoes are great.
May 29, 2007 at 2:33 pm
when i saw this picture, i thought… wow, now that look is so east coast intellectual. it’s lovely.
May 29, 2007 at 2:39 pm
Okay I could just so so manage the blouse-but the shoes just aren´t right for the outfit.First the color is weird and ballerinas are not comportable to wear on paved streets.
May 29, 2007 at 2:59 pm
I bet she knows lots of interesting facts about art, books and architecture. Chic and simple – and I don’t think it’s about being ‘Eurpoean’ or ‘American’. She justs looks great!Mrs F x

Very nice shoes¡
May 29, 2007 at 4:34 pm
So refreshing. So nice to see someone not all “designered” out. It is much more inspiring to see someone who can look cool and effortless in affordable clothes versus the overdone new york city designer duds. You should show these gals more often. They are natural and original. Nice work.
May 29, 2007 at 7:26 pm
she looks a little petite to carry off that high waist on the skirt, but i love her blouse/sweater.
at first i thought it was nicole richie, though!
May 29, 2007 at 7:28 pm
ps. so glad your family health emergency is resolved! xoxo!
May 29, 2007 at 7:52 pm
Oh goodness, this is too much. I love the overall slouchiness of the outfit, with the sort of disheveled tuck of the shirt into the skirt, but I also love the inherent elegance in these pieces. The knee-length black skirt, the flats, and the color combo are a counter-balance to the attitude of her hair and sunglasses and crinkly shirt.
I missed you. Very much. I think I am addicted. :)
May 29, 2007 at 8:40 pm
She looks so elegant and serene – I love it. I love her hair and her frames and I especially adore her green shoes.
May 29, 2007 at 9:05 pm
she looks alot like one of the girl designers from Vena Cava…
May 29, 2007 at 9:10 pm
enough with the audrey hepburn
May 29, 2007 at 9:20 pm
I love this look. It really suits her.
While it may seem quite simple and classical it takes guts to wear this kind of outfit and pull it off.
I think the thing that’s saving her from looking dumpy or dowdy is the all important Attitude.
May 29, 2007 at 10:59 pm
Glad you’re back, Sarto!
May 30, 2007 at 1:26 am
Classic, simple, stylish and beautiful. She is lovely and I adore the green shoes.

So happy that you are back – you make my day! Good to hear that you & your family are OK.

now there’s an achievement – making that top part of a chic ensemble. it could just so easily look matronly.
May 30, 2007 at 8:13 am
A fabulous movie!!
I love the folds of fabric on her blouse and skirt – very feminine. Simple and chic.
May 30, 2007 at 4:04 pm
She sort of looks a little lop sited to me. I think that a pair of green earings and a green shoe with a little heel would of improved the outfit. Shes a little young for such a long skirt and her shirt makes her look a little flat. The outfit itself is not bad but I would defenetly add a few things to make it look a littleyounger, and I agree her is very nice. The sun glasses are great I think that without them she would probably look very dorky.
May 30, 2007 at 8:03 pm
Adorable, chic, and elegant, just like Funny Face.
May 30, 2007 at 8:12 pm
VERY close facial resemblance to nichole richie.
May 31, 2007 at 11:15 am
Great!!!!! I love it. Perfect, appropriate, classy, elegant, easy style. xoxoxo, Lady
