I love everything about this photo: the light, how she carries herself, the smart way she wears casual clothing, her minimalist make-up, and the juxtaposition of the hat and the bags. Thanks for bringing some beauty to the day!
Great shot and beautiful colors. Love the simplicity of this outfit – all basic, classic elements: camel coat, striped shirt, jeans, fedora, combined with stylish red accents on the lips, nails and the bag.
I have not commented for a while (not to perceive as lack of good photos!). However, now I have the need to do so!
I like the mix of neat elegance and bohemian sloppiness in the woman’s appearance. I love the color palettes. I feel all warm and fuzzy looking at this picture, even the red lips (If I could, I would only make the fingernails.. emerald green).
All the elements of the woman’s personal style are so close to my own. I will surely come back to this photo for a reminder in a few months’ time (-20 degrees Celsius in Northern Europe right about now. Not so funk soul brother, but very nice other ways. Lost of woollen garments!).
Oh well! This is definitely a great outfit!
She’s very beautiful and reminds me about Dita Von Teese and Megan Fox…isn’t she?!
Giada http://giadascarnival.blogspot.com
Love it ! That hair. That lip color. That coat. That striped top. Those jeans. That hat. That bag. Those shoes. Last but not least, that aura… Ahh.. Love it !
Gotta love classics, especially when put together so perfectly. The mariniere top with the epaulette’d peacoat, black pumps and red bag works beautifully!
The light on this is amazing. So is her coat. And her face. And the photo in general…I’m articulate today, clearly.
-Charlotte http://www.thewilderthings.com
It’s the lack of buttons on the coat that make this outfit for me. Four buttons on the coat instead of the traditional six give it a cleaner look, and the cropped sleeves make it especially chic.
First thing I noticed was the wonderful combo of stripe shirt and coat with shorter sleeves – perfect segue from winter into spring. Then, on a further look I fell in love with that hat!!!
Tres Chic!!!!
wow what luck to find a girl with so much style! the maskuline jacket, the chanel style shirt, this amazing hat and the this shoes that are very much in fashion now. She mixes this all so perfectly and with the black hair and red lips it can hardly be done more perfectly! http://frommadridwithstyle.wordpress.com
I love the entire look. The way the coat sleeve is higher than expected, the way her purse adds a hint of color in a sea of neutrals, the entire look/feel of her attire is casual yet there is a sense of boyish femininity to it. I hope that makes sense…
WOW! Thats very inspiring. She is a 1940′s pin up girl in a cool laid back preppy outfit…. and it works beyond well!!!! I could really go for copying that. Love the fit of the jeans and coat.
Funny, everyone’s commenting on her outfit and I’m looking at the smooth out-of-focus background produced by your full-frame sensor digital SLR and probably a 50/1.2 lens… :)
Aha! So _that’s_ the reason 3/4-length-sleeve coats exist. I’d been wondering. (Also, do the tabloids know that Dita Von Teese, Eva Green, and Shalom Harlow seem to have combined genes & morphed into one stunning woman?)
There are so many different items of interest for me in this photo (the planes of light vs. dark, the clothes & accessories, the almost-smirk on her face), but let’s just leave it at GREAT picture.
Like Kit said, that’s the chic Kansan young lady in Paris from last week. Her fine fashion sense travels well.
This photo is chuck full of information. What grabs me is the man in the overcoat: a brooding New York walk, which matches my mood today. But une chatte grise’s comment brightened things up for me considerably.
Oops ! She’s missing a button. I love the way the coats sleeves arent long enough too, with her bretons peeking out. V. Classic. http://beckybackstage.wordpress.com/
I love everything about this but especially the fit and wash of the jeans. I once followed a girl out of the subway for 4 blocks because she had the best jeans on. They were just like these: not too tight, not too loose, nicely worn in, right at the ankle. I’ll probably live the rest of my life and never find jeans like these. I don’t know why I didn’t ask her where she got them.
funny how people are labelled “parisian” just because they are wearing a striped sweater and some red lipstick. That said – lohe the photo! An instant fahourite
What a lovely camel coat. I’m in the market for one right now, but haven’t found just the right one yet. This one is gorgeous. The perfect balance between masculine and feminine.
The coat is simply as tastful as it looks and I think I speak for all when I say that she completes her OWN style by wearing the shoes instead of pumps like the rest of New York and the hat if she wants to . Undoubtably her own and I love it
