He’s got a serious “too cool for cold” vibe going on. That coat is a great color!

Gorgeous coat & color! Are beards making a mainstream comeback? Seems like I’m seeing them more often!
January 19, 2012 at 5:57 pm
Via Manzoni…I probably walked it back and forth 100 times over the last two weeks but never crossed path with this dude.
January 19, 2012 at 6:21 pm
his trousers are way too long but the color combination between the different elements of his outfit is really interesting…
January 19, 2012 at 6:22 pm
Love the oversized coat!
January 19, 2012 at 6:28 pm
Edward Gorey is back, dressed in L. L. Bean and strolling around Milan? Strange but cool.
January 19, 2012 at 7:49 pm
If he wants to be incognito? he did a good job. I love the vibrant green coat he had on. As long as it works the purpose, that matters most.
January 19, 2012 at 8:24 pm
he reminds me of Al Pacino in “Serpico”
January 19, 2012 at 10:10 pm
Ahh, don’t think I can complain about HIM being too self-consciously dressed. Nice.

Don’t like the hat (there are very few hats I like, actually), but I’m loving the coat. I admire a dashing slim coat as much as the next style watcher, but it is nice to see a good-looking coat that’s big enough to actually work over winter layers–and that green is excellent. Love the trouser-and-shoe combination too; it’s nice to see a pair of grownup pants with a nice crumply break (as opposed to trendy floods), and that taupe looks fab with the brown suede.

Green Duffle Coat, so classic, so young. With cigar and beard is awesome.
January 20, 2012 at 4:32 am
So Brit, so intellectual, so cool!
I wonder why we do not see more men dressed like this nowadays.
A good old Gloverall and some suede boots. Oh, the thrill!
A big kiss from Greece!
@chatte grise: very to the point comment, I wouldn’t have noticed all those details, I was too struck by the coat.
January 20, 2012 at 5:26 am
That great coat is just great, and I love the little splash of tartan, wonderful!
January 20, 2012 at 6:03 am

Great color coat, I don’t mind the oversized-ness…but it’s way to bulky around the neck. And the hat really makes this look sloppy. Not really a fan.
January 20, 2012 at 10:39 am
why don’t I ever spot people that look like this?……

January 21, 2012 at 11:11 am
I love the whole package it is as if he came out of the cold and the coat in simply awesome. The beard is epic and the bucket hat along with the glasses adds a touch of class.
January 22, 2012 at 4:54 pm
Really though… Does anyone know what brand is this coat from? Gloverall don’t make them in green, so is it Burberry?? Would soooo much want to find one like this!!
January 22, 2012 at 7:50 pm
Okay, I think he totally looks like a bum. There, I said it. I don’t mean to be offensive or anything, but I was just thinking that if I saw this guy on the street instead of this venerable blog, I would have labelled him as a lost fisherman at best.

Please stop showing heavy coats and gloves in any part of Italy. It is shattering my myth
of nonstop sunny, warm, lemon, grape and olive-laden vistas.
