Aha! I was hoping Carine would be the one to kick off the SartoriaList for women – what a coup! Now, if only acquiring her style was as easy as frequenting the places she recommends… Thanks Sart!
please do berlin! i personally think it’s one of the most assuredly quirky and stylish places without the self-consciousness of being, well, just that — “quirky” and “stylish.”
Great, great nominees. I’d absolutely love to read a sentence or two about their sartorial philosophy, but I understand that’s a bit of a detour from the intent of the “List”…
Tara Henthorn alters her own clothes. So do I! Sewing can be very relaxing. My mother taught me, it’s a good way to get great fit and also get to know what looks good on you. Alas, I’m not passing down my skills, my daughter expects me to do it for her.
This is great! I’m wondering if you’d ever consider including favorite products? I would love to take advantage of these incredibly stylish women’s advice, but I doubt I will find myself in any of these cities any time soon. (unfortunately . . . )
TARA HENTHORN – Good lord! Proof positive that reincarnation is true: Jean Seberg is back! I don’t see the point of copying a vintage look so slavishly, though it’s so generic (though yes, she looks great) can it be called copying?
Since you’re compiling the fashionista’s top recommendations, I have a burning question which I was wondering if you could help me with….I’ve got several pairs of Christian Louboutins which I absolutely love and wear constantly. What do your fashionista friends do with their cherished Louboutins when they need resoling? I’m at a complete loss at what to do since I don’t want to do anything which would ruin the trademark red sole. Any ideas? I’m sure lots of others would love to know their secret. There’d probably be quite a lot of $ to be made from just making red color soles for precisely this problem…..(heck I might even have come up with the next best thing to reinventing the wheel!?)

There’d probably be quite a lot of $ to be made from just making red color soles for precisely this problem…..(heck I might even have come up with the next best thing to reinventing the wheel!?)

tara has the look that britney spears should be rocking – short and pixie like – instead of wigs and various mistakes.
