January 12, 2012 at 3:20 pm
Red is never been so pretty
January 12, 2012 at 3:22 pm
Interesting point of view. I am not sure I would wear a dress with sneakers. Maybe with a sporty dress ;)
January 12, 2012 at 3:26 pm
WOW! Love the picture AND the idea of running in a dress.
January 12, 2012 at 3:32 pm
Amazing Red! Love the hairdo!
January 12, 2012 at 3:33 pm
I had a male friend who liked to compete in dresses in the 80′s–Austin, TX has always been weird. He never won a race but always made a good showing, so to speak.
January 12, 2012 at 3:39 pm
Finally some cool graffiti backgrounds. Fun!
January 12, 2012 at 3:41 pm
Gorgeous. Just plain ol’ gorgeous.
January 12, 2012 at 3:45 pm
She’s wonderful and I love her vibrant color. I also love her balance–why can’t you be tough and girly at once!?
Is that her real surname?! It’s great!
January 12, 2012 at 3:53 pm
I absolutely love this! She looks so lovely, happy and warm of heart – and she runs in dresses! How quirky!?! I think if I ran in a dress in Paris, the old ladies would actually stop giving me mean stares – what a novel idea!
January 12, 2012 at 4:13 pm
This is stunningly good, the colours in the graffiti, on the ladder and on the man-lift all balancing against this wonderful outfit. Then top it all off with the gesture and the beautiful smile. GRL rules …

This has long been (one of many) my favorite photograph of yours.

Sart, can you take a photo of her running?

January 12, 2012 at 5:47 pm
Definitely a different perspective.
I wonder what the dresses she runs in are like. I checked her blog but didn’t find any pictures of her running. Any chance you would post one?
January 12, 2012 at 6:48 pm
The dresses she wears while running are like tennis dresses or sometimes she wears an extra long tank tops as a dress. You can get great tennis dresses them from Nike and others (although they we’rent made for running, they’re easy to move in and often quite cute). Whatever she wears, she always makes it her own. She’s just super stylish, with amazing and super creative hair styling. She also styles her marathon outfits by altering the pieces or matching them with unexpected accessories. Sofia is such an inspiration to runners as well as girls in general; beautiful, intelligent and super warm towards her readers.

Here are some of her running outfits! (from her blog)

What an AMAZING look from head to toe! Amazing hairdo, amazing dress, accessories, shoes – wow!
January 12, 2012 at 8:55 pm
Mad respect for this woman!
WOW! What a beautiful woman and picture. Sofia’s NYC marathon time of 3:37:50 is awesome. I would love to train with her but I could not keep her pace! Oh well, it would be pleasant to watch her leaving me in her dust.
January 12, 2012 at 9:01 pm
Does she run in heels too?

I really like her attitude towards the way she dresses. She doesn’t follow the rules and she remains herself.

Go Sophie! I’m proud that you can run in your own personal style? Curious about how you train during the cold winter? still in a skirt?
January 13, 2012 at 9:51 am
Hahah how amazing! She runs in dresses…I love it. More power to you, Sofia.
January 13, 2012 at 9:57 am
She looks so happy and warm! The miu mius are awsome! I looked for them everywhere but they were not available in my size…
A big kiss from Greece!
January 13, 2012 at 9:59 am
Love the red and blue – such a nice dress and perfect outfit! :)
January 13, 2012 at 10:14 am
What an amazing, bright outfit. And running in dresses? Never though to do that, but certainly a way to maintain your personal style.
January 13, 2012 at 10:57 am
I like that TheSartorialist is talking also about health and fitness!
Exercising with style: you should do a section on this…

I have always thought of this as one of your most iconic shots and every time i balance on the back of my heels i remember it – what a girl – what a shot! x
January 13, 2012 at 1:35 pm
I absolutely adore her shoes! Her sense of style and desire to be true to herself is refreshing as well as empowering.
January 13, 2012 at 1:46 pm
That is so wonderful, I hike with dresses sometimes and people think you are crazy…
January 13, 2012 at 1:51 pm
Ha! What a fabulous girl! Maybe that’s my problem -I need to run in dresses!
January 13, 2012 at 2:45 pm

January 13, 2012 at 4:07 pm
I like her dress!!
January 13, 2012 at 6:35 pm
Show us some pics of Sofia running in her dresses! Love it!
January 13, 2012 at 7:03 pm
I’m curious what type of dresses you can run in? Are they made from special wicking material?
January 14, 2012 at 1:04 am
I’m also curious to see pictures of her running in dresses..
She looks as bright as morning sunshine! Seems to me like her black glasses and brown leather bag root down her colorful outfit, which makes her look stylish rather than just a bundle of color. I especially like her hair..
January 14, 2012 at 4:22 am
Cool. And awesome picture with the GRL (Girl…) in the background.
January 14, 2012 at 5:50 am
Lovely smile! and look’s too!
January 14, 2012 at 3:42 pm
Omg I love you! I’m devoted to style/fashon and I run marathons and half-marathons. On New Year’s Eve I ran the Central Park Midnight Run in a black lace cocktail dress. It was sooooo much fun! Perhaps I will continue merging my two passions…
January 14, 2012 at 8:31 pm
Her heels really complete the look! Loving the overall colour scheme. G.R.L (in this context) is the logo of the ‘Graffiti Research Lab’ – it’s an underground group that experiment with digital technology for art installations. Pretty cool projection art too.
January 15, 2012 at 6:40 am
I love it! the dress is so cute and she looks so natural
January 15, 2012 at 5:34 pm

STUNNING! I can just picture this lovely gazelle running in this bright red dress. Watching that must be like watching a Christo installation. *swoon*
January 19, 2012 at 6:13 pm
I can barely stand in a dress… let alone run!
January 29, 2012 at 6:55 am
