A square face good looking, masculine chin and one strong wave in the front, nice.
August 17, 2007 at 5:53 am
Oh, this is wonderful!
August 17, 2007 at 7:02 am
Agreed, great hair. And if the coloring’s not natural, it’s beautifully done. Also nice to see more men with actual parts (parted hair, not a comment on body parts) again.
Sart–He looks hairless, both arms and legs. IRL?
August 17, 2007 at 7:23 am
Yes, this does have a period feeling–the shirt, the slightly floppy pants.
But really, it’s the hair, I think, that evokes, or reinforces the sense of styles past. I agree with another poster who was in awe of the Scandinavian gene-pool. These countries are the Brazil of the North. (Or Brazil is…etc.)
August 17, 2007 at 8:55 am
I think he is very good looking. The vogue on his hair is cute. With this kind of sneakers you don´t need socks, dot.
August 17, 2007 at 9:01 am
sart… you can’t do this to me…. too many good looking men in stockholm. every morning is a shocker. not good for my health.
August 17, 2007 at 9:26 am
He certainly does look like a movie star! How does a guy in casual pull off glamour so well? Must be in the genes/jeans…
August 17, 2007 at 9:37 am
Great! That is Carl N Sundevall. A famous journalist who started a magazine called Rodeo. Love his look.
August 17, 2007 at 9:39 am
so consistent. every photo you’ve shown us from Stockholm has that clean edginess — very compelling!
August 17, 2007 at 9:41 am
He does look like an old movie star – or like Gatsby must have looked like in his youth. Brilliant.
August 17, 2007 at 9:43 am
Great everything, imho.
August 17, 2007 at 9:44 am
I think he looks amazing..so pulled together and relaxed.
August 17, 2007 at 9:47 am
Thats Björn af Kleen right?
August 17, 2007 at 10:11 am
Swedish Kenneth Branagh!!!
August 17, 2007 at 10:18 am
my great hair days are long gone (as is most of my hair), but I like this look.
August 17, 2007 at 10:23 am
What a cute boy! Definitely Troy Donahue in “A Summer Place” I love his clean and fresh look–well-scrubbed, with a baby-faced innocence. You know there’s a little devil underneath.
August 17, 2007 at 11:16 am
He absolutely does!Effortless style. Very well done.

August 17, 2007 at 2:42 pm
I think he looks like Stockholm, resort, 2008. Lanvinesque.
August 17, 2007 at 3:05 pm
There are few men I find truly attractive. This blond man with his blond clothes and frank facial expression & pose leaves me stunned. Your pictures, Sart, belong to the tradition of great portraiture.
August 17, 2007 at 3:10 pm
i imagine him blending into the movie the talented mr. ripley beautifully.
August 17, 2007 at 6:17 pm
ok, i’m baffled as to why this man is considered sartorial.is your blog about sartorial discoveries or about beautiful faces? there are many many pretty faces (and this man is one) but there are very few men with a great tailored fashion sense. question: do you equate good, natural born looks, with being sartorial?
August 17, 2007 at 6:40 pm
this blog isn’t literally about all things sartorial – it is about inspiration
that inspiration can come from clothes, hair, attitude , whatever
if you open your mind a man can be inspired to buy a new shirt because of the color of a women’s dress he saw on the street – A woman could be inspired to buy a new dress after seeing a mans scarf.
I have said it before
August 17, 2007 at 6:46 pm
Jack Purcells! I wore out 3 pairs through my teens and 20s.
August 17, 2007 at 8:09 pm
M-, I love the pale colors (especially in that shirt!), the sleek lines on the pants, the typically casual white tennies looking crisp and not sloppy, the exposed ankles, the unusual hair, the rocks and the flora… and we’ve seen many, many New Yorkers with similarly casual or not-so-innovative looks showcased too who do something simple or standard very right and still manage to be inspirational. The crazy, eye-catching looks that revolve about skirts made of button-downs or an unusual accessory are neat, but there is also value to be taken from the pictures of clothing being worn well, I think.
August 17, 2007 at 8:16 pm
He reminds me of the very handsome Truman Capote, when he was around 25. Except with longer hair. Brilliant.
August 17, 2007 at 10:15 pm
sarti’m flattered you actually reacted to my comment.but, i do feel i raised a valid question. many times on your sight i see beautiful people, and as an aesthete, i love it, however, when i see the word sartorial as your title, beautiful faces does not come to mind. what i interpreted was that you were going to focus on the expression of fashion through good tailoring and good personal style. which was refreshing, because fashion magazines, for the most part, seem to focus more on physical beauty, which again i love, over actual style and tailoring. so i am disappointed when you do the same. believe me, i have an open mind. i am inspired by attitudes, nature, technology, a woman’s shoe, to express my own personal style. but now that you have advised that you are also about inspiration, i will try and see what is it about this man that inspires you (because what i see as a possible inspiration is to either look like him or have him and there is nothing sartorial about that). i look forward to seeing more of your finds. thank you!

i love it. yes i really do, but i have to say, damn those jack purcells! that they dont make size thirteens! but yes his hair is FANTASTIC!
August 18, 2007 at 8:45 am
It’s the hair–the swoooop! it’s what makes him more than just a pretty face.
August 18, 2007 at 10:27 am
August 18, 2007 at 10:59 am
I agree with the person who said that that’s Björn af Kleen..Im pretty sure it’s him. He writes about fashion witch means im not exactly suprised seeing a picture of him well dressed.
August 18, 2007 at 4:07 pm
this is NOT carl m sundevall , as someone commented before (and btw, carl did NOT found the mag rodeo either),this is a swedish journalist, Björn af Kleen. He looks very much like a young August Strindberg.I want more pics from Stockholm, are the posted all you took mr Sart or are you holding back on a bunch?
August 18, 2007 at 4:37 pm
Zarc: Yes, Jack Purcells are available in 13′s. Check out the Converse.com web site. I got my pair (also 13) from there. We men with big feet have to stick together.
August 18, 2007 at 4:49 pm
Björn Af Kleen, proves that young nobility still can look good.
August 18, 2007 at 6:52 pm
Effortless, eternal style…
August 18, 2007 at 9:19 pm
This blog is about wearable clothes and ‘real’ fashion directly from the streets. It’s great.
Will we ever see pictures from South America? This Argentinian girl would love to see what you can find in here…
August 18, 2007 at 9:43 pm
I think we can agree that Stockholm has the best sense of honest fashion across the board. Jag tycker om Stockholm!
August 19, 2007 at 10:41 pm
Oh i adore his entire look, and he reminds of Jean Marais very much so.
August 20, 2007 at 4:47 am
I love sartorialist, but WHY THE HELL is it only semi-well known ppl that gets photographed, is there any people at all that gets shot without a phonecall being made so they can style themself?
August 20, 2007 at 7:22 am
For SWhy do you think I made a phone call to set this shot up?I was in Stockholm during fashion week so of course you are going to see some well-know people- if they look super cool!!
Are you saying that this young man doesn’t have great hair?
August 22, 2007 at 4:56 pm
has no one commented on his delectably enormous HANDS?! Good grief. They’re, like, flippin’ huge…
August 26, 2007 at 7:28 pm
Very dreamy…a real gentleman. You know he gets boys and girls handing him their phone number all day long.
September 1, 2007 at 3:43 pm
haha I saw him at Arlanda, not that I’m a stalker or anything. I just happen to have good memory…
February 1, 2009 at 1:43 pm
He reminds me of the novel character “The Great Gatsby”!
May 27, 2011 at 12:32 am
OMG he is so hot. And smart. And AWESOME.
