Wow, congratulations! This is great news for you and a true reflection of your talent and amazing eye for all things sartorial. This site is so inspiring and it’s great that you’re now getting rewarded for working so hard, with such passion and dedication for what you do.
Please continue to be fantastic!
Congratulations again, all the best for the future. xo
I have been a reader and anonymous poster for a year and a half. I’m really grateful for the style topics you have raised, especially the ones that arise spontaneously, when you capture a look that surprises people. I love watching hundreds of people approve of a sartorialist one would never see in a magazine. On that note your blog is so current and inspiring that I rarely buy fashion magazines any more. To get back to the topic of this post, it has been really exciting to watch you form a career around something you love and do well. I look forward to your broadcasts from new places. Bravo, Sartorialist, bravo!
As a Canadian fashion student I really look up to you and admire your drive and passion for fashion. Congratulations on your success! You are truly an inspiration to me in all that I do! Thanks

Beautiful. Though this might sound trite, I’m so happy that you turned a passion into a way to make a living. And I am really glad people have taken notice of your great compositional skills. The accolades are well deserved.

Scott: Many congratulations and I, too, would encourage you to think about a book. Oft times during a day, we will take a break and look at what you have posted and it always sparks a good discussion. Sometimes about composition, sometimes about characters (our favorites are the senior men!), sometimes about age, sometimes about the influence of place on style-or indeed, style on place! Lots of good chapters there.
You and your readers have inspired me to “take another look around” and truly see on many a day. Hope all of these wonderful new opportunities do not cause you to forget to be blissful as you “follow your bliss”.
So exciting and so well deserved. Good choice about the ads, good opportunities with the other two bits of news. As you can see, we, your readers, are all behind you on these new ventures.

Great news. You deserve it. I stumbled on this blog not long ago and am now totally hooked. i am a designer and it is a constant source of inspiration and so much more relevant to me than contrived fashion magazines. I especially love that you feature many shots of stylish ‘mature’ ladies. This is something you almost never see in mainstream media. Well done sir!
It breaks my heart that you will now accept advertisements. More and more, I feel surrounded by marketers on every side, to the point of claustrophobia. Your site has been such wonderful sanctuary from commercialism. I will probably stop visiting now.
I realize that you need to make a living and I am very happy that your work has landed you a job with a top agency. Best wishes for continued success in the future!
congrats … i adore this blog. it is my biggest inspiration for my own fashion world. i hope this site will stay free for everyone all around the world !!! thx a lot for this great BLOG
congrats-amazing! i am really looking forward to your trips to south america especially- I was recently in Argentina, and keep on thinking what a great addition Buenos Aires designers/style would be. Not that my opinion matters all that much, but i think that your timing has been impeccable with business choices. I can’t wait to see where you go from here!
Wow!! You’ve become an associate of Jedroot! That is such an accomplishment for a fashion photographer. Congratulations, you have just become the envy of many people!
Well sorry but I don’t wanna write my comment in english…
Yave*
Congrats! I love your work and I check you’re blog almost everyday! I love your work so much because sometimes reading Vogue can be such a bore as it lacks the life and evergy that all youre photos possess! Hope that you go really far and that someday I’ll see you’re work in the glossies at my local newstand! For now wishing you the best of luck! =)
The fact that you followed your heart and continue to do so is such a wonderful example. I am thrilled it has paid off. You are truly a worldwide success story. You remind me of the poem by e.e. cummings: “To be nobody but your self, in a world which is working, night and day, to make you, just like everybody else, means to fight the greatest battle there is to fight, and never stop fighting” Great job Scott!
I can hardly wait! You’ve been my favorite blog since I discovered you almost 2 years ago when I was 16. Your blog, and later your section in GQ, has made me realize how much I love fashion and has done more to develop my sense of fashion and style than other medium I’ve encountered… I’m glad you’ll be expanding and that you have done it without compromising the quality I have come to expect when I check your blog every day.
Being only a recent finder of Satoralist Im glad to say how impressed I am not just with your thoughful eye as a photographer, but the unique connection you have created your other devotees. No easy task!
Your site is uncluttered and inspirational on so many levels it is impossible to fault.
Well done and congratulations on your new developments.
congratulations!!! your hard work and talents made them happen. just please don’t forget us, the anonymous netizens reading and being educated by your blog every day. :)
Hey I definitely suggest you sign on with a publisher and print a book or two with just photos and comments from previous years. you can even make a series. you’d make it super big! i know i would absolutely love to own a book of my favorite photographer’s work. Olga.
congratulations sart, you totally deserve it. Working on this for the past 2 years shows so much commitment and passion. I only hope that your newfound commercialism does not impede that passion, or restrict the enormous scope of style and beauty you showcase. I think that’s what makes your site unique, the fact that it’s not just glamourous model types, or partying fashionistas, and I sincerely hope this new path will only help you grow further.
Congratulations and thank you for a fantastic blog! I live in Cape Town – the bottom tip of Africa…your blog let’s me see what’s happening all over the world (well at least in the cool parts, where people dress well). Thank you for jazzing up my boring desk job and helping me justify spending my entire life on the internet (I’m a disgruntled web-designer) All the best!!
I’M SO HAPPY! You are my daily contact with the coolest samples of street-style…I introduced to your blog and, above all, to your unique “eye” all my best friend. Thanks again!
Congratulations! When you said you will be able to travel more, i couldn’t help thinking you really should come to Helsinki sometimes, for example when visiting Stockholm as well. It’s a small city, but individuality can be found more and more often. Especially at small clubs like La Perse etc. Shops like Daniel Palillo’s Wunder, ivana Helsinki, Myymälä2 etc. make it possible to create so many different styles here as well!
Hello, Sart! With love from Russia! It’s really very kind of you to share your plans with all of us so we can feel that you need us as mush as we need an inspiration we get from your photoes! Thank you! Also it’s very interesting to read Your notes below the pics to understand Your attitude and how You personally see this or that picture.
way to go sart!you don’t have to be ashamed to grow in this project,a little more money and opportunities won’t make it less personal and unique. You are an example to people like me who work in the fashion business but have to make it to the end of the month anyway!
dear Sart, try to go to Morocco for one of your “style” trips! I went in June for a music festival and was just amazed by the beautiful looks the young guys and girls are able to put together. A mix of traditional + Italian labels + pretty hippy: very inspiring! I went to Essaouira for the Gnawa festival, but I imagine everywhere 20something hang around will be good …
CONGRATULATIONS ! This is fantastic and i am very happy for you and yes a book would be fantastic and what about the perfect satorialist smell/ perfume, you capture fantastic images and your words are very inspiring and delicately to the point, so go for the smell to go with this all.
L’oreal whenever you guys read this please act and go for it.
I still hope that we meet one day and that i can tell you in person how fond i am of your work and maybe maybe one day we can work together as well
yes. Business is required, even for art, so well done. I remember when WALLPAPER magazine was a tiny tiny independant and it sold too big too fast. I am cautiously optimistic that it’s dulled eye and ad-bot features will not be your fate.
You deserve all this great success, wow this is so exciting! Saw your shoot with Stacey from UK Elle today, have been waiting for it to come out. Looking good!!
comment on the site: it would be great if you permalinked to a page which just the one photo. anchors are wacky cross-browser, and it’s hard to send links to friends. thanks.
Congratulations! Richly deserved success — you have an terrific eye and technical photography skills. I look forward to seeing more of your work. Please always alert us to where it appears (or complete online portfolio, perhaps?) so we can track it.
Congrats on your obviously careful approach to your ‘expansion’, too.
I’ve always wished for you to come shoot in Asia! I was even thinking of getting a camera myself to do it but, now I’ll leave it to the pros for a bit – till I get a good camera. You must come to my city in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! I wouldn’t say it was the biggest fashion hub but it’s fun to see how people dress up to their limits. There are Muslims here too who have a great sense of style!
Congratulations — I’m thrilled that these new developments will free you to focus on your photography. Look forward to more inspirational work from you.
congratulations! i have really enjoyed your site since i discovered it over a year ago. i am constantly inspired and grateful for your contribution. continued success.
i just want to say congratulations on all of it! i’ve been checking out your photos here for a few months and am in love with the way you capture people, not just their clothes. very inspiring. i simply LOVE your style.
After commenting once before, I had another thought… People who dresses with flair are almost presenting themselves as mobile works or art. Your subjects spend time on grooming and bear the expense of maintaining a stylish wardrobe, which they graciously exhibit to the public, at no charge. Until now, you have been a collaborator, contributing your camera skills on a pro bono publico basis. By accepting sponsors, you will be turning a profit on the freely-given artistic expression of others.
I am delighted that your hard work and excellent skills have earned you a job with top agency. You will now be fairly compensated for working with models who are also compensated and did not provide their own clothes. Congratulations! You deserve every penny!
i’ve just discovered your blog through a fashionista friend and style.com. it’s only been two months for me as a reader of your blog, and i’d like to say congratulations! to more!
Everyone else pretty much said everything I could say, but I’ll repeat it nonetheless.
Congratulations!! I’m happy to see the success your blog has had. You’ve shown that if you just do what you love with passion, without regard for any fame and accolades you may receive, you CAN be really successful. Finally best of luck with your new endeavors!!
I’ll still be coming back.
P.S. one advice though: I know you have money now, but please dont ever redesign the blog!!! lol The simplicity is what makes it so great.
I love to watch your pics and read your comments. What I love most about it is that you truly love style in all its different sizes, shapes and budgets… Your blog is an inspiration! I am glad you are starting to have ads, it’s only normal since you keep so many people logged on everyday… And I am sure you won’t let them spoil the essence of this blog. Very happy for. Looking forward to the development of your activities and hoping they reach Lisbon.
I have been reading your blog since close to when it first started and even though i read and post as anonymous and you are a stranger to me, i feel very genuine and personal joy at your success. Congratulations! And thank you for the very definite and very positive influence you have had in my life.
Ah, well, I’m happy your skills are getting their due recognition, but… Conde? I mean, not that 98% of your street subjects don’t look like runway models already, but I fear it’ll only be exacerbated now. You’re now an official relative of AW’s.
Well, good luck to you. Hope you go to Buenos Aires soon, some serious stylish people down there.
WOW! Chuck CLOSE! That is truly amazing, I work at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Madison,WI and we just had his show last summer and he is a great artist. I envy you (= CONGRATS
I’ve been without internet so I am just reading this now- seriously congratulations! This is so very exciting; I can’t wait till I can buy a print/ a book…?? Keep it up, your images and detailed reflections are so inspiring and they show the validity of such art! thanks!

prints – yes please! I hope you’ll include the shops from Italy and the sleeping barber in those.
This should tell you that by trusting your eye for beauty and style, you’ll have the world at your feet. Can’t wait to see this next level!

Well sorry but I don’t wanna write my comment in english…

The fact that you followed your heart and continue to do so is such a wonderful example. I am thrilled it has paid off. You are truly a worldwide success story. Your blog, and later your section in GQ, has made me realize how much I love fashion and has done more to develop my sense of fashion and style than other medium I’ve encountered… I’m glad you’ll be expanding and that you have done it without compromising the quality I have come to expect when I check your blog every day.

congratulations sart, you totally deserve it.

Sart, should you ever consider a redesign of the site,
could you consider a separate pop-up window for the large versions of the photos? That way, one could read the comments side-by-side with the photo.
(I sort of cheat now by simultaneously running two windows for your site. It works, but requires a little juggling!)
