i have a bag that looks something like that..got it from a random market in Peru while i was backpacking. never thought to pair it up with a work-ish outfit though. and those shoes are like icing on a really bright cake :)
OH! I can’t stop looking at this photo. I am always drawn to all black or black and white outfits with bright accessories. It’s what I generally wear myself. She looks like some sort of ‘urban ballerina’in this outfit- love, love love!
I love her choices: color as a contrast to the structure and the monochromatic palette. Great personal statement in its calm and sophisticated details.
my first impression: the shoes – amazing. the second impression: the skirt! wohoo! then: the bag then: the shirt then: her attitude then: her smile and finally e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g’s just amazing!
and my very last impression: kudos to the photographer :-)
This is the wonderful thing about fashion…some see it one way while others see it another. The woman is gorgeous and I love the shoes…fabulous! But I would love to see this outfit with a big, bright yellow soft leather bag. I would like to see the same woman, same top, same bag but with a pair of jeans and a chunky necklace…tomato, tomahto.
It’s interesting how she rolled up her shirt sleeves; a subtle choice to add more dynamicism? less primness? the black-and-white backdrop for the bag & shoes.
I don“t especially fancy this one.Her top kind of pops out too much,on the other hand, she has balanced it with those wild shoes. This kind of dressing is fine when it is sunny and since her skin tone is dark,I guess she can wear bright colors.
anon 2:06 hear, hear. I really did not like Sept 10. (I found the look too vulgar for my tastes.) But I was definitely part of the (silent) minority on that one. This woman is so much classier and elegant…and I would wager to say that she paid far less $. Interesting choice on the bags for both her and the gentleman just above. On the way to the gym, perhaps? Planning a bank heist, maybe? ;-) At any rate what a splendid couple they make on paper. Fabulous, both of them.
I don’t see anything special about this at all. It’s easy to add a little color to a black & white outfit but it doesn’t make it a statement. And like the young woman shown on Sept 10, she needs a bra fitting. That just seems basic to me, any age, size, etc., can benefit from that.
WOW, is this ever perfection. I love every detail about this ensemble. It’s STUNNING! Pictures like these always reminds me that I don’t have NEARLY enough daring shoes.
I had to look up the Sept. 10 pic that this was compared to and I have to agree that that girl just doesn’t compare. I don’t know if it’s the bright, revitalizing colors in this one, the higher neckline, the comparative postures*, the lighting, a general je ne sais quoi… ;)
(*That’s definitely one problem: if you’re wearing sky-high heels which straighten your posture by design, why on earth try to fight it and pull off some coy slouchy pose? It seems like a good way to topple over, for one thing.)
Re: anonymous at 2:39 PM, color isn’t the only thing that defines an outfit! Choice of cut, form, fit, fabric, and the individual features on a black or white piece can also be considered, and sometimes those details are just as restrained as the color they accompany, such as the length of the waist and hemline on this skirt or the height on the neck or even the LACK of frilly details that creates a sleek appearance overall, coordinating well with her choice of hair and emphasizing that pop of cyan at the feet where a louder choice of garment would overpower or clash, making the shoe difficult to pull off. (Also, her bra looks fine to me, honestly.)
It’s sort of hard to explain though (as I said in my above post, it’s some je ne sais quoi!) because to me the immediate reaction upon viewing is that it looks very good and if your response is different, we may simply agree to disagree.
I love the black + white + colour combo. The shoes make a conservative outfit into something to be noticed. The bag is a perfect example of how to work travel mementoes into day to day life.
With a body like that she could wear a painter’s tarp and look fantastic. Seriously – the gal is built. I think she’s blessed with the “she can wear anything” gene. But this is an incredibly chic ensemble. Simple and elegant with a splash of color. Fab.
great accessories ! and the structure of her outfit elegant ; accented with fun pieces .. so stylish ..im inspired to wear fitted structured outfits now..
I miss the ‘click and enlarge’ option at style.com. So thank you for posting these here, especially this photo. She’s one gorgeous woman. Nice heels, great posture, awesome bag.
This is not under any circomstances a professional outfit… she is wearing a loose top and a casual black dress. What gives the impression of elegance is the black and white combination…

The outfit is secondary to her presence. With her posture and Mona Lisa smile- she could wear a paper bag and garner the same admiration.
