I wonder how much time does it take to look like this, or is it just grabbing whatever it is in your clothes closet and putting it on(with great intuition)?
So sassy, yet very elegant…just what I love! The jacket is so major, and the sling backs with the fun hair gives this outfit a whole retro look. Absolutely stunning. If you have a chance, check out my blog! http://www.cakescookiesandcardigans.tumblr.com
Love the way she’s using and playing with retro, not just replicating past looks. And, as always, reading material (printed, not pixilated) is a top accessory.
Photos like these are what inspired me to start my own version of street style for New Jersey. Click the link to see what it’s all about, I promise there’s more to Jersey than fist pumping guidos
Very beautiful woman, great photo but frankly I feel she’s trying too hard. I believe there is something to be said for wanting to look great, although one should make it look effortless, almost accidental. mr. john.
Gosh her fifties vintage look is gorgeous, she looks glamorous and strong. I would love it if you checked out my blog, I have interesting fashion posts you might love to read.
Amazing! Believe it or not, she reminds me, hair, complexion, make-up, of my Mom when she was young! I should send you a vintage photo of her…with the modern elements of the rockin’ cut-out oxfords & colorful necklace. She another of your amazing, “photo stories.” Well, done! I’m going to forward your link to my Mom to see if she concurs.
I don’t understand the comments that say ‘effortless style’ when it is obviously a great effort to put together a look like this. The makeup alone! And then, the jewelry, the hair, the outfit. This probably took a good 2 hours to put together.
We don’t think there is anything wrong with making an effort with your look… we think she looks fabulous, here at REVIVAL we did a 50′d photoshoot just the other day and it was definitely not effortless but it was ‘simply stunning…http://www.revivalvintage.co.uk/Everything+fifties-Womens~1950s-P1.html
I love all of the pieces she’s wearing…but together, and I think this happens often when someone goes vintage, it looks theatrical, and not very original.
Very cool mixture of texture and color, however, I would go with a different type of shoe, something last “stand-out-ish,” otherwise there is too much going on. The contract of the earrings and necklace is awesome enough, so why do too much to distract from that?
If I knew how to do such sophisticated hair style I would try it. But it looks very complex. Im not sure how to even explain it at a hair salon. Any ideas?
She is clearly a swing dancer. I love that she’s rocking this look in her everyday life. There seems to be a lot of love for her shoes, so here’s a link to where you can get them:
There’s a lot going on in her outfit. It’s not for me, and a lot of people couldn’t pull that off. It looks great on her, though. To have the confidence and eye to put that all together…wow!
