here, is a classical example of how a person can define a look. i can name a million people in the world who would look like a fool in that jacket/coat. but here, wow! her attitude not only magnifies the intensity of cut on that coat but also in such an odd way, softens it…it does sound odd but looking at her sharp profile and sheer confidence, that coat is just another thing she is wearing and not the other way around. great!
I have a feeling this is Martin Margiela, but yes it could be Comme or Yohji. I love how the lady is able to pull off the look with such sophistication. I was simply taken by Yamamoto’s work few years back and bought this beautiful trench jacket but I have yet to have the courage to pull it off, so it has been sitting in my closet. I hope I can not be worn by the clothes but wear the clothes.
Love your photos! Your page is my internet start up page.
okay, i love her for the dozen things she is doing so so well, not the least of which is standing. that’s right, she’s not doing the infuriating pigeon-toe stance that the otherwise flawless roitfeld has made so de rigueur. this is a woman to admire!
For starters-anyone can see that the clothes and the accessories she is wearing are expensive. This made clear it is no wonder she seems to look quite chic. But I think that black looks a bit too harsh on her.She has spent quite a long time in the sun, which shows and makes her look older than she probably is?
I love this, she’s head-to-toe designer (not my favourite look)yet it looks very unpretentious! Though she is dressed very avant garde, this outfit is completely her! She owns it!
I assume by the Chanel bag that all the elements are high-end design, yet this woman has such a developed sense of style the impression is that the clothes were made just for her.
All of a piece. She wears the clothes. They don’t wear her.
It would be exciting to have a conversation with her about fashion and style.
My friend introduced me to your blog and I LOVE it! Thanks for putting this out in the world. It’s lovely to see your perspective on clothing and fashion.
BTW,the anonymous person above who gave the link to Anabella wearing this coat for Prada Fall 2007 is correct.

i suppose it would be inappropriate to rip this off her body in order to wear it oneself, right?
one should ask nicely who made said garment and then go purchase one’s own.
right?
