Those colors are so pleasing, especially the vest with those funky old style buttons. But I especially like the way he is sitting. Its a lot more interesting then when people have old style ideas of perfect posture and poise. The more I look the more I find that not standing or sitting upright is a lot more interesting in a picture.
In the old days (1950s and 1960s) these beautiful green socks would have been made handknit by this man’s wife/girlfriend. And they likely would have been argyle (which I prefer actually to a plain solid, although I do love green).
Modern socks…fab. Everybody forgets the socks. Men have so few opportunities for accessories, we gotta put more effort into awesome socks. Lets start the Awesome Socks campaign!
This reminds me of riding the tube in London…those business men always wear the most beautiful colored socks…love it! Glad to see it’s catching on in NYC…
As great as this guy looks, I cant help but be swayed a little by that BAG, love the look but love the bag more….p.s thanks for all the great pictures Scott, come back to Dublin sometime… Mx
Love this guy with his suit and matching tote, and those socks! So much fun! We should all put a little bit of what he’s having in our daily dressings.
Such a fun outfit… though at first the suit appears bespoke (and carefully thought out pairing chesnut with a ‘bright’ navy), you then notice what can only be his (or someone’s) old prep school tie. A perfect work ‘uniform’, 10 or so years later!
Wow, what a beautiful, sophisticated mixture of colors. Light blues, dark blues, light browns, dark browns, and a touch of green to top it off. This kind of refinement of personal style really reflects a person’s confidence.
Saw him in Soho this weekend… wearing the same color of socks, with cropped, skinny camel colored pants. It was the socks that caught my eye then… as they do now.
Very nice but didn’t appreciate the bright green heel being visible. Many colours in the mix but still there’s harmony. I think lighter brown smart shoes could also have worked nicely (similar colour with the cardigan) with the suit.
I wonder if the colour of the suit really is so deep blue (the contrast with the rest of the photo is just awesome) or if it’s just the photograph’s settings…
Every once in a while you come across a photo that absolutely makes you burst into applause. For me this is that picture. The blues, green and browns; the bag, the phone, they all work for me. http://www.billuko.com
This gent is very well put together. I love the collar on that bengal stripe shirt. Great choice.
