Ooooh love the sporty vibe !! I like that he is plugged in his music world AND of course the mix of gym clothes and street clothes is unknown genius !!
There’s a guy who goes to a body sculpting class a few doors down from my favorite Indian restaurant. Occasionally, he’ll pop in for a bite.
Let me just say that a man in yoga pants is not what I would consider stylish – much less what I want to look at when I’m eating! My husband keeps his eyes on his plate the whole time, LOL!
I totally agree with you. Great style surprises can occur in those in-between moments of the day…I wish this were the norm, and see less of the compartmentalized styles 1) for the gym, 1) for work! It could also result in a much needed decline of hooded sweatshirts around here (I mean in the US)
very styled for the gym… i never understood the large head set….was at one time nerdie look….. Scott u must be a ghost…u r always in my hood….never see u…
A woman can easily look at, wear, or assume an outfit and talk about herself looking and feeling sexy. For a straight man that same freedom does not come so easily. This look is sexy and if adopted beyond transitional wear maybe an emancipation is on the horizon?
Great picture! I was actually very surprised when I saw the whole picture:) Didnt expect that! Good surprise though! He is really cute and looks good from the waste up and from the waste down we can see that he is taking good care of his body as well;)
No no no! A guy should never ever walk the street in tights no matter how good his legs are. He looks like a cool guy who should know better. I was anticipating the complete ensemble because the top half oddly remided me of Bono, but it went downhill (literally) as all was revealed.
Depending on if he’s going to or coming from the gym, I can’t help but wonder why he chose to wear his workout pants with a shirt and suit jacket? Or is he wearing his workout shirt under the suit jacket? Hmm… regardless, he certainly has nice legs!
JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Those Legs! Those Shoes! Those Headphones! The jacket and the pants have the perfect length. An elegant black silhouette with a nice colourful trashy young accent (shoes).
He is something in between a knight and the modern feminine man. Stylish and but unpretentious. One of the most beautiful shots of men I have seen on this blog.
Looks like he got some inspiration from Garance and her yoga pants…
Being in this transition is such a part of the active NY lifestyle….and somehow New Yorkers manage to slip in a workout on-the-go, whether it’s before/during/after their workday. It’s all in a New York minute!
I love this because you are so right–it looks like he could be on a runway, what with his bag slung over his shoulder, his jacket proportionately with the leggings, his glasses/headphones, and of course, his catwalk strut. So great.
Prince St between Crosby and Broadway.
The Equinox gym is a few paces away,

He’s got issues to work out;

Gabriella does that make this outfit the mullett of style? Business up top and a party below? Wait, that sounds wrong. Either way he looks good. Life isn’t about looking perfectly coiffed all the time. I workout outside in all kinds of weather and do a lot of rolling around on the ground. I end up with grass and dirt stuck on me,I could look better but it isn’t my priority in the moment.
Drew, I am so excited for you!

Sports wear hybrids, more fluid clothing and innovating fabrics have yet to bleed in to the mainstream men’s fashion sphere. It is nice to see men comfortable in styles not traditionally associated with mainstream fashion.
This is something I have been watching, wearing and buying for at least 2 years. As a clothing in the outdoor industry there is a lot of cross dressing between sport and fashion in my industry. Also I am sitting at work in Lulu pants and a tank and wearing a white North Face down hoodie. Sometimes, depending on the job, you don’t change for work. You just change after workout class. Mine is at no0n. If you come you Austin Texas – you and Garance can come any time.
I love it. Robin Hood, men gym tights. I actually wouldn’t mind if men adopted this style at all. After all half the 20-something women in the country are running around in jeggings right now, why not let me do the same. Just promise me men won’t pair their leggings with Ugh boots.
I love an all black from work to the gym look, short of whatever colors pop up on your running shoes… no matter the city, it’s nice to feel anonymous in those minutes you have between work and the gym.

These “Gym Styled” people are quite probably on a regular daily route…
I wonder how difficult it would be to try and catch them at a different time of day, say when they’re dressed for work for example.
I think that would be a very interesting project.

It is nice to see men comfortable in styles not traditionally associated with mainstream fashion.
