I’ve never been into ponchos, but I like her shoes!

I’m not usually the biggest fan of ponchos, but I quite like the way she pulls this one off with all the black and the chunky boots.

Love the light on the background of this shot…
I love the way the poncho is being revisited…in this case with the Navajo motif!
Great Native American print!
November 7, 2011 at 9:32 am

Love this look – and the light. Pretty much says Fall/Autumn to me :) I have a poncho that I wear when I’m cwtched up on the sofa but think I need to take it out sometime.

Great shoes!! This photo is so New York, love those yellow taxis in the background.
November 7, 2011 at 10:15 am
I love the authentic ruggedness against the city landscape…but it makes me want to leave the city for the wild west :)
The poncho is really cool although I don’t quite understand the fabric that is made of…
i never expected to see a poncho on here. one step away from a snuggie. never fashionable, regardless of the accessories.

The poncho is such rich hue and with a mesmerizing pattern.
November 7, 2011 at 10:23 am
I’m loving the shoes…I bet she is extra warm with the poncho
November 7, 2011 at 10:30 am
Hello Mexico, wonderful poncho, i love anckle Texas style boots! And great capture, of course…

Glad to see her wearing the poncho/serape. Native American patterns are beautiful on certain pieces of clothing without looking OTT. I have bought several blankets from Pendleton Mills in Oregon and made them into short jackets.

Ponchos are becoming a winter staple. I love how they complete a look and can be the focal point of an oufit.
November 7, 2011 at 10:39 am
The Western print poncho paired with the edgy leggings + booties is fabulous. Not my personal style, but cheers to her for pulling it off!
November 7, 2011 at 10:41 am
Oh, the exquisite drama of this shot.

Love the poncho look. Hard for men to pull off though…
November 7, 2011 at 10:47 am
Love this look! The poncho is beautiful and I really like the boots. Lived in New Mexico for many years and seeing this look is not unusual…but on the streets of NYC? Nice surprise. It’s quite pleasant seeing the warmth and laid back attitude of the SW here!

This works because of her hair and fine facial features.
Add sombrero and cigarello–

Love the navajo pattern…xoxo
November 7, 2011 at 11:16 am
I’m so glad ponchos are getting a little attention right now. They’re warm alternatives to a jacket or coat and give much more material real-estate to showcase a print like this southwestern one we see above. This photo makes me want to watch Eastwood’s spaghetti westerns!

I love the shoes :) and I just visited NYC last week and was on houston street!
November 7, 2011 at 11:56 am
I don’t like ponchos much, and this one isn’t an exception for me. But I do like her shoes!
November 7, 2011 at 12:05 pm
That isn’t a PONCHO!
Look on the right and see the deconstructed jacket front.
I am pretty sure it’s one of Rei Kawakubo’s Blanket Trenches for Comme De Garcons, or a artful knockoff.
See, like this: http://tinyurl.com/7mfqw2o
Great look and terrific photo, btw.

I absolutely LOVE her shoes!
November 7, 2011 at 3:02 pm
Something made Claire turn and look. Maybe it was that faculty everyone has to some degree; the one that makes hairs on the back of the neck stand up when someone’s staring. But something made her look, and there he was. He was too early. Now what was she going to do?
She’d done everything right, putting together a look that was over the top in just the right ways, and yet not out of place in a city like New York. Poncho? Check. Leggings that were fit close but didn’t look painted on? Check. Practical boots with heels that gave shape to the leg but still allowed fast maneuvers? Check. The only thing missing was the van with Tim and Phil in the back.
Now all she had to do was keep his attention for a few moments. After all, it wasn’t every day she got hired to kidnap a man and deliver him to his own wedding.
November 7, 2011 at 3:26 pm
I have these boots. They look beautiful on, but they’re ridiculously uncomfortable :(

November 7, 2011 at 4:10 pm
I would love to see boots wooden heels that can take a battering and have a whakapapa history to them, particularly worn in with a woven poncho, sort of keeps it real and honest.
November 7, 2011 at 4:20 pm
Shoes are probably Swedish Hasbeens.
November 7, 2011 at 4:26 pm
Rock&Roll this shot is Killer…Poncho..shoes attitude ..Amazing
November 7, 2011 at 4:43 pm
Quite fond of the lighting with the poncho. Almost resembles a (weird) combination of New York meets Sahara desert…..
I have these boots, they’re from No. 6, they are so comfortable and easy to wear/pair with: http://no6store.com/

November 7, 2011 at 11:17 pm

I love this – her attitude, her poncho, the light – so timeless and soulful. But, sorry! I don’t like the shoes in this shot, they look too ‘now’ and over-fashiony. I adore her spirit though. She is powerful and beautiful.
