October 18, 2011 at 8:28 am
She’s fun.. love the vintage looking purse..
The print on the skirt is entertaining and her flip-flops are awesome.
October 18, 2011 at 8:31 am
Is this Lucinda Chambers? Some serious & amazing head to toe Marni going on. I adore Marni, I adore this photograph.
October 18, 2011 at 8:33 am
This is what I call personal style!! She may like this collection http://nowfashion.com/01-10-2011-tsumori-chisato-ready-to-wear-spring-summer-2012-paris-show-990.html
October 18, 2011 at 8:37 am
Wow. Her look tells a story. She is deeply stylish.
October 18, 2011 at 8:38 am
Who is this lady because I took a photo of her at a terrace before she entered the Dolce&Gabbana show in Milan?
October 18, 2011 at 8:41 am
Really?? Can’t imagine that outfit in the street. .. WOW!!!
October 18, 2011 at 8:44 am
Lucinda Chambers? The colours and pattern are beautiful
This is just brilliant. I am crazy about this eclectic mix. And the slippers are beyond cool.

The combination shouldn’t work… but it does.
October 18, 2011 at 8:55 am
Nice FLIP FLOPS hahahaha
Such a nice weather over London isnt it?
October 18, 2011 at 8:57 am
Great skirt! There is so much going on with this outfit but it seems to work for her.
October 18, 2011 at 9:02 am
In Marni Head to toe.
Love the older woman …. chic and self confident, comfort and style!
October 18, 2011 at 9:04 am
I like the easy look of the printed skirt and textured sweater..the bag is great, and love the bright watch. However, I wish she wore a nice flat or low heeled shoe instead of the beach sandals.
LOVE her look! Great, elegant, tasteful, modern……just right!!!
She’s my paragon of beauty now….
October 18, 2011 at 9:05 am
I wouldn’t normally say this – heresy + almost not possible – but she is almost too cool for the Sartorialist!
October 18, 2011 at 9:07 am
I like the outfit, the colours, it’s very eccentric! However, I’m not loving the sandals/shoes – they should be left at the poolside!
I’m not a fan of all that pattern mixing
October 18, 2011 at 9:09 am
Beautiful accessories…I love that ring and those sunglasses! And I’m not sure why so many older women automatically cut their hair short – her shoulder-length hair is so elegant.
October 18, 2011 at 9:18 am
She looks like an elegant but playful lady, but those shoes! They just cracked me up! They remind me of those adidas plastic sandals the swim team wore in highschool…
October 18, 2011 at 9:21 am
Surely this woman knows how to mix and match different patterns and tuxtures! Great!

October 18, 2011 at 9:36 am
This is a great photo, though it looks like the seasons changed from summer at her feet to autumn by the time she chose a sweater! Still, great style!
October 18, 2011 at 9:37 am
I so love it! Screams personality and style at the same time.
October 18, 2011 at 9:43 am
I love this loook!! I think I would hate it in separates but she made it work!!
October 18, 2011 at 9:44 am
she looks like my aunt.
I like the prints.
October 18, 2011 at 9:48 am
I want to be her when I grow up! She looks fabulous. Love Marni.
October 18, 2011 at 9:49 am

Greetings from Berlin
October 18, 2011 at 9:50 am
Pure fashion genius!
October 18, 2011 at 9:56 am
Too bad about the shoes because the rest of her outfit is fabulous. I especially love the marled sweater with the patterned skirt. Perfect combination.

She looks as though her husband forgot to pick her up – “Charles. Did I not say four ‘o’ clock?”
October 18, 2011 at 10:13 am
What a creative lady! Older women know how to be stylish. Elegant modernity! Love it!
October 18, 2011 at 10:18 am
Love the print!

A dazzling dame
on top of her game.
A triumphant mix of textures
and contrasting colors.
October 18, 2011 at 10:45 am
Oh my. How can anyone not love this?
The lady looks fabulous!!! Works the Marni prints perfectly, has green flashes of colour in her jewelry to accentuate the green in her skirt, holds a perforated bag I love and those super comfy and classy sandals.
This is style my friends.
Kisses from Greece!
October 18, 2011 at 10:47 am
The flip flops totally ruin the outfit, which is not that great to begin with. I don’t care who she is and how famous she is, but this just doesn’t work.
October 18, 2011 at 10:49 am
oh yes ! the patter on that skirt, the red watch and the subtle green the earrings…masterful !
October 18, 2011 at 10:50 am
Interesting photo capture, bag is my favourite! She is vintage addicted, i am sure about it, but i’am not mad about knitting match..
October 18, 2011 at 10:52 am
I want to hang out with her.
October 18, 2011 at 10:58 am
Obviously, a lady to “makes” fashion is no slave to it, but makes her own style. Beautifully worked out.
October 18, 2011 at 11:25 am
who makes those shoes?
I have an older friend with bad feet who may like them.
October 18, 2011 at 11:35 am
wow… what rich, delicious patterns! That skirt is gorgeous, and I love the purse.
October 18, 2011 at 11:41 am
October 18, 2011 at 11:42 am
love love the outfit, the electrifying colors. the textures, the bag, her sunglasses, and just as i was thinking god i want to be her i saw her shoes. i dont care if its different, chic or whatever the hell i just dont like them whatsoever.
October 18, 2011 at 11:47 am
Now this is class and character, this is not about fashion this is about individualism, I envy her even though I’m a man!
October 18, 2011 at 11:52 am
She looks cute and cool
October 18, 2011 at 11:53 am
Lovely outfit but the shoes are not flattering to the leg. Very unfeminine.
October 18, 2011 at 11:57 am
love her style its so personal.
October 18, 2011 at 11:58 am
I love this so much I’m compelled to post a comment. What a fantastic, stylish yet classic look. Her confidence radiates! At 25, I’m not sure I ever look this good. J’adore.
October 18, 2011 at 12:00 pm
Great look – I would wear all of this in a second. Beautiful mix of patterns and color and I love the bright watch with it.
October 18, 2011 at 12:05 pm

October 18, 2011 at 12:46 pm
Love the outfit and the panache, but not the shoes. Sorry.
October 18, 2011 at 1:04 pm
Stunning – i love the print, the shoes and the way she is just so damn cool – perfect x
October 18, 2011 at 1:05 pm
Marni! Absolutely love it! Spot on, viva Marni and viva Lucinda.
October 18, 2011 at 1:19 pm
Great mixing – on her. Perhaps I´d change the sandals, nothing else.
October 18, 2011 at 1:25 pm
love the look. she looks confident and comfortable in what she’s wearing. the patterns somehow work together.
October 18, 2011 at 1:26 pm
Love the print on the skirt: amazing!
October 18, 2011 at 1:28 pm
lovely- and I love that she is sporting a Zara sweater- great ability to mix brands
October 18, 2011 at 1:30 pm
Wow! Love this pic!
October 18, 2011 at 1:35 pm
Love it. Love the colors, the textures, the glasses, the sandals, the bag. And I love that it’s not a genetically perfect young person. It’s a beautiful woman who’s old enough to know what she wants…and feels good in her skin. Nothing says sexy, like experience.
October 18, 2011 at 1:40 pm
This really and truly is somebody with a fabulous natural sense of style and, of course, common sense! All that tramping around for Fashion Week calls for flat/comfortable/rubber soled shoes …… and who would believe that flip flops could look so chic?! The orange watch is maybe the £9.99 version that I also have from Argos – either way it looks sensational!
October 18, 2011 at 1:46 pm
I love London !
Discover a french web magazine ! it’s a friend project !
October 18, 2011 at 1:50 pm
Marni for the win! Hope to look as fabulous as she does when I’m that age.
October 18, 2011 at 1:52 pm
wow, what a style, amazing shot
October 18, 2011 at 1:57 pm
well, of course…what she doesn’t know about fashion isn’t worth knowing…UK Vogue is lucky to have her.

October 18, 2011 at 2:00 pm
I can’t imagine anyone else being able to rock this look than her. Incredible and eclectic.
October 18, 2011 at 2:05 pm
Confidence in style and personality.
That's Not My Age
October 18, 2011 at 2:06 pm
She looks gorgeous – I’m guessing from her outfit that she’s Italian. Very stylish.
October 18, 2011 at 2:12 pm
October 18, 2011 at 2:31 pm
oh my lord, how does she make orthopedic* shoes look good?
*okay, not so, strictly speaking. but you know what I mean!
October 18, 2011 at 2:43 pm
Everyone else has already said it — THIS is style. Wow.
October 18, 2011 at 3:03 pm
WOW! She looks cool!
October 18, 2011 at 3:26 pm
So cool! Why? Because it looks like she didn’t try, that’s what’s cool… there’s too many people out there looking like they solved a major math equation when they woke up and got dressed. That’s not cool because fashion isn’t about saving babies, its about covering your body and expressing yourself a bit while doing it.
October 18, 2011 at 3:30 pm
The bag is so perfect, can I have it when she’s finished with it ?
October 18, 2011 at 3:49 pm
Lucinda looks like a fun, interesting and stylish person to be around with.
October 18, 2011 at 3:58 pm
Fabulous. More older women PLEASE to inspire and delight – she is magnificent!
October 18, 2011 at 5:39 pm
She is so much younger looking in real life – not sure why but maybe it’s the dark glasses which make her look so much older. But, and a big but here – looking older makes her look all the more elegant – there’s something to ponder!
Vancouver photographer Tamea Burd
October 18, 2011 at 5:55 pm
Stunning woman, fantastic photo. This image typifies aging not only gracefully, but stylishly!
October 18, 2011 at 6:08 pm
She looks stylish and smart. Her outfit really is genius. Somehow you can tell that she does everything extremely well, so the well thought out outfit comes as no surprise. Those shoes are great! I could make sooo many wonderful looks with them…if I had them, which I don’t… Who makes them?
What a beautiful face.
October 18, 2011 at 6:17 pm
I just must say that I LOVE that the pictures you post are such a great mix of people and not only women in their 20′s. This lady looks so confident and at peace, it’s beautiful!
October 18, 2011 at 6:48 pm
WOW. I’m just loving this. She expresses her strength and beauty and power in such a true-to-self way, doesn’t she?
October 18, 2011 at 7:10 pm
I know I’m no fashion guru,
but this doesn’t work for me…
Each item on its own looks amazing,
but thrown in ALL together (especially the flip flops),
to me it just doesn’t seem neither stylish nor pretty.
October 18, 2011 at 7:57 pm
Love love her style!
October 18, 2011 at 8:25 pm
October 18, 2011 at 8:26 pm
This is about having style and looking effortlessly dressed in a considered outfit…it’s an art!
October 18, 2011 at 9:41 pm
Interesting pic. Love the fabric of the skirt, but not sure the top ‘works’ with the whole outfit.
October 18, 2011 at 9:47 pm
i hope to be this cool when i am older
October 18, 2011 at 10:22 pm
I LOVE everything about this look.
October 18, 2011 at 10:32 pm
I just like her bag!
October 19, 2011 at 12:10 am
I love her nonchalant confidence, her devil-may-care attitude and the way she put all those patterns and textures together.
October 19, 2011 at 2:56 am
Oh, the shoes definitely work with the skirt which somehow works with the sweater. All is well here.
October 19, 2011 at 4:47 am
I’m a 60 year old stylist and I got the job in my 50′s by compliments and referrals. I stay busy.
Honestly Scott, I think age makes many people more stylish. From being around a while, many of us have learned how to show off our assets and how to minimize our flaws. We’ve learned the art of how to accessorize with items that create interest/fun. And lots of us embrace our natural looks, and still manage to turn a heads, like Lucinda. Also, if we’re not sure, we’re not afraid to seek help! This shot and that one of Marpessa, gave many of us some good ideas!
Lucinda is fabulous and lovely head to toe. She’s confident and authentic, and knows what works for her. With her style sense, She could put together a fabulous modern outfit from a thrift store with her eyes closed.
You rock, day in and day out, Scott. The best blog ever! But i don’t think I’m alone in wanting to see more of the 50+ stylish demographic, and we love to shop!
October 19, 2011 at 5:03 am
When I grow up I want to look like her. Ageing with elegance and attitude. You are never to old to be hip!
October 19, 2011 at 5:20 am
How nice! Lucinda knows how to wear clothes with great awareness and character…
October 19, 2011 at 6:51 am

I love her style. Lucinda has elegance and attitude like Francesca Tozzani . She has very cool, natural! Where is Francesca e Lino? I want to be just like their in future! kisses Maria José
October 19, 2011 at 3:04 pm
These are the kind of post I love at the Sartorialist. The sheer power of style and elegance to bring out the beauty of people, age not being an impediment. The extreme achievement of her attire is that, in spite of not being “by the book” mixing, she manages to still look elegant and just right . She’s not just following some code: she’s helping to create it.
October 19, 2011 at 3:57 pm
so totally FREE, UNRESTRAINED and PERFECT!!!!!!
October 19, 2011 at 4:10 pm
Love this lady’s combination of pieces. She has a strong grounded appeal in general.
October 19, 2011 at 5:13 pm
funny…I loved the outfit even more WHEN I saw her shoes. A whimsical addition that to me shows her confidence and self-assurance.
Plus..I have a weakness for mixing the seasons and have gone out in a sweater, skirt and summery shoes before. it’s just what I do.
October 19, 2011 at 5:15 pm
The sweater and skirt remarkably complement each other some how – I’m off to the store to find something just like it.
October 19, 2011 at 6:51 pm
wow the outfit is mix of sheer awesomeness!
October 19, 2011 at 7:24 pm

A fantastic look.. i love it!
October 20, 2011 at 5:43 pm
What a great outfit, I feel sartorially inspired. She looks lovely – and very interesting.
October 20, 2011 at 5:58 pm
A-mazing style! Every element of her outfit is an artful choice! Especially love the sunglasses that shade rather than obscure her eyes!
October 20, 2011 at 8:38 pm
I’d like her mojo when I’m her age … not sure if I’ll be combining patterns like this. Each item would look far better with a solid item next to it … I don’t like this particular combo.
October 20, 2011 at 8:50 pm
The mix of textures and colours are brilliant… such style and ubercool.
October 20, 2011 at 10:14 pm
you know she doesnt have a bit of makeup on. pure chic.
October 21, 2011 at 5:20 am
Lucinda Chambers from British Vogue – but she does consult for Marni you know – so of course she is wearing them!!!!

from knees up a nice mix and much but those flip flops ruin everything. They should be left by the pool ..
October 23, 2011 at 2:33 am
I agree….”deeply stylish”.
October 23, 2011 at 9:18 pm
I just LOVE when you post pictures of old women! It’s so inspiring! I hope that, in many years from now, I’ll be just like them… :)

Love the style!!
April 15, 2012 at 3:49 pm
I LOVE that dress!
April 16, 2012 at 5:34 am
This woman is Lucinda Chambers, style consultant to MARNI. Amazing style and she defines the “MARNI Mix”, The perfect hodge-podge of textures, prints and colours. Kudos to an amazing visionary!
May 19, 2012 at 5:35 pm
This is a woman who definitely owns the style.
January 24, 2013 at 1:51 pm
Wow, love the sweater and the silhouette. I want to look like his at her age, although I might change the accessories.
May 14, 2013 at 6:49 pm
